1. I'll take it please. Will PM
2.
You can just use the built in microphone or use the built in mini jack input with a 1/4 " adaptor
Built-in mic sounds best free option for me. Thanks Keith
3.
Do you have any band recordings made with the bass in question?
Nope, its the R*ckenfaker I bought only last month (bought in fit of nostalgia as a 4001 was my first gigging bass when I re-started my live playing 7 or 8 years ago; unfortunately hindsight rose-coloured and it doesn't feel right ergonomically to me now)
4. Many thanks Mike, a more expansionary reply than I had expected or deserve!!!! I hear exactly what you say about the bass sound being largely down to the player. Will think on. However, famous last words, but I hope this will be my last bass sale (yeah I know, but I am down to my last 2 electric basses and my year-of-birth Precision stays!) so I am not keen on investing in hardware for one sale only. I certainly wouldn't be using this for recording music
5. Thanks chaps. There is a Garageband icon on our Mac although I had no idea what it did! Reading the Apple page it says "just plug your guitar in". Erm, with what type of cable and where (some kind of USB convertingf cable?) and does it need a DI box or similar in between? Sorry to be a total numpty BTW, can't watch demo video on work PC (where I am now) due to firewall blockade - does that make my questions sound slightly less dumb?
6. When selling a bass, people are often asked to post sound files. I have just been asked this and I don't have a clue how to do it. So is there a simple piece of free (or cheap) downloadable software that can be used for this? Please note that it would have to be Mac-compatible as our main PC at home is an iMac. It may even be that an iMac has such software but I am a total techno-dweeb! Many thanks in advance

8. 70s/80s copy of a well known and legally sensitive brand. Lovely mapleglo body. Benefits from full R*ck electronics (including VTC), R*ck bridge pickup and a Kent Armstrong toaster pickup plus an original R*ck TRC. Also has a Hipshot aluminium bridge, a huge improvement on the R*ck original but visually similar. Wearing the original tatty but beautifully worn-in TI Flats that Beedster had on it. Comes with Warwick Rockbag. The only 'issues' (which won't be an issue for everyone) are (1) the action will not go ultra-low - the bridge saddles are tight on the base plate and the action is distinctly medium (4mm on the E at the 12th fret) and (2) one of the scratchplate screw-holes is over the electronics cavity so does not have a screw in it (I originally superglued a screw into the 'vacant' screw hole for OCD neatness but it caused an annoying buzz when played acoustically so took it out again) Basically, I bought this last month from Beedster in the midst of a bout of nostalgia (as a Rickenbacker 4001 was my first gigging bass in 'Phase 2' of my musical career, in my early 40s). Its not for me though as the slab body doesn't sit right with me and the ergonomics are just not as comfortable to me as a good ol' Precision. Beedster assembled this with the help of Howard The Bass Doc. He put £750 into this but sold it to me for £600. I would like to get that back if possible. Here is Beedster's FS thread: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1612508 Carefully chosen pics to follow so that our friend Johnny Halliday doesn't go ballistic
9.
Good luck with the sale though....unless you've changed your mind...again!!
The lady's not for changing, errr ... Three DBs and a DB-emulating acoustic bass is too much for anyone! Also, TBH, the neck (which is very slim and Jazz bass-style) is less comfortable for my (previously broken) left hand than the big chunky neck on my other basses
10. Some Latin style Baby Bass, showing what can be done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_LTa_uG4NE&feature=relmfu And what you can wear whilst playing one : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmjuZ07LD18&feature=channel&list=UL
11. Jon just bought my fretless Mk 1 Wal. Couldn't have been a more straightforward deal. It was a pleasure Jon and I hope you have many hours of fun with the bass

13. OK, shame-faced change again! I gigged my Kolstein on Saturday and the band loved it. It will be my go-to gigging DB from now on (with the 1880s 3/4 bass for bigger gigs and home practice). The Baby Bass will just not get used now and its a shame for such a beautiful instrument to just sit in its case. So up FS again at £2000 collected from London (no post, sorry).
14. On a big flamenco kick at the moment. I just LOVE this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aijiBZQBBD8
15. Lovely one with - shock horror - a different bassist. This time, Nathan Watts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYQfWJNWe3I

18. Cracking gig last night! Next up is Bull & Gate, Kentish Town on Wednesday. Onstage 8.45 pm .
19. Just back from our gig at the Jazz Servants Quarters in Dalston. Despite the venue being empty half an hour before we were due onstage, it suddenly filled and we played to a decent size crowd. I played with my Kolstein double bass, rather than my Takamine acoustic bass - first time I have gigged this particular instrument - and it went really well. A lot more physical gigging a DB than an acoustic bass but all the more satisfying for it. Our Spanish/flamenco flavoured tracks went down especially well. After the fiasco at 93 Feet East on Monday (when we had technical problems and an @rse of a soundman) this was a very good and extremely gratifying gig
20. Bump for tonight's gig in Hackney area, East London
21. I couldn't believe the amount. That's just legalised robbery. At least I had a good night with SWBO
22. I must be their biggest fan as it cost me £130 for a parking ticket (my wheels were on the pavement; but which wardens are out at 9pm at night?) Good gig from the Jetsonics though, and the Mrs and I especially liked the reggae/dub number
23. Thanks all. It sure is whisky-soaked music! This used to be our live encore
24. Cynically I am guessing the reason it doesn't have a DI/XLR is so it doesn't massively undermine the Sansamp franchise
