Bought new off Mark at BassDirect about three months ago and never left house (except for one rehearsal). Great little cab for DB and acoustic bass and for small electric rigs. Comes with ludicrously over-priced custom padded EA carry-bag in fetching black and red! I paid £550 plus post for both. Yours for £420 posted or £400 collected in West London. Here's the BassDirect page: http://www.bassdirec...ts/EA_Cabs.html No real point putting up photos of mine as its completely as-new and just as shown in BassDirect pics!

Hi all, although I'm no longer in the band there are several tracks I recorded that are still to be released (and hopefully an album). The first to be released is the band's new single, a New Orleans-style sleazy reworking of Tom Waits' fabulous 'Yesterday is here' with added Rattlin Bone coda. I still love the music even if I have moved on band-wise. Hope you enjoy http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/13121225
Some great stuff posted in this thread. Carles Benavent is Bassist i like to listen to a lot. His Fretless playing is sublime. A nice track here with Josemi Carmona. Some Fretless. Garry
Not seen him before. Interesting style of play (I watched some YT clips last night). Only time I can recall seeing anyone play a fretless with a pick. Being the bass nerd I was intrigued by his unsual looking fretted bass with the big cutout on the upper bout - turns out its a Jerzy Drozd 'Barcelona', designed for him by the Spanish luthier http://www.jerzydrozdbasses.com/barcelona_views.htm

Bireli Lagrene Fretless Bass (youtube video) transcription
Clarky replied to Emlyn's topic in General Discussion
Hi Clarky, I've nearly put it in Sibelius 7, I think there's a 'convert to tab' option - not checked, but it pretty much does everything else, so hopefully I can. Hope the bass is working well for you, Cheers, Emlyn
Hey Emlyn, yep I just put my fave strings (Kolsteins) on the bass and it really sounds lovely I was being tongue-in-cheek about tab as its a running joke on here (moderator Bilbo's constant refrain is 'Learn to read'; he also hates Moondance by Van Morrison so this track receives a fair few mentions too ) -
What time you onstage Ad? Not sure I can make it as have recording session previous night and gig following night and SWMBO may put her foot down. However, if its a mid-evening time, may be able to persuade her with promise of meal nearby ....

he is an amazing gipsy jazz guitarist (check out his album The Gipsy Project for example) but played alongside Jaco in the latter's last sad years and is very influenced by Jaco when it comes to bass playing (to the extent you could shut your eyes and think it is Jaco). Amazing musician who I was lucky enough to see live in London around 15 years ago. Good work Emlyn - any chance you could re-do in tab form? -
No probs Emanew. Anyway, here is a bump with a couple of clips of fretless Wal playing - in each case by a BC'er (Spoombung aka Kev Hopper and wombatboter) showing how talented some of the members of this forum really are http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMFQGYcnL-I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTeAYtlbV2k

Yep, they had 5 bands on and seemed to allow about 5 minutes to switch over and line/sound check. Very silly. I felt for the main act (after us) who was cut off after just 4 songs at 10.45 (we all assumed that the music finished at 11 ....)

These are relatively rare and I know there was an Items Wanted thread for one of these a while back. I gigged mine last night (technically I have the B10, with different preamp but otherwise identical), sounded wonderful! Just back from 93 Feet East in London's Brick Lane. My 2nd gig with ATQR. Was going so well until the penultimate song in our 7 song set when the guitarist broke a string and - with no help from the stroppy sound engineer whose only comment was to point out we were 10 minutes over our allotted slot (not our fault, the earlier bands overran) - had to borrow a guitar from another band. We then discovered this had a faulty jack socket. We muddled through that song with the guitar barely audible and totally inaudible in parts and then we had to abandon the final song as my bass then also started to cut out (coincidence, hmmm). Oh well, the first five songs went really well and we will be better prepared for next Saturday's gig (guitarist will be bringing his spare guitar and I will bring extra cables, just in case)

Thanks! Actually we have two more gigs in the next 8 days Land of Kings festival in Dalston (E. London) next Saturday (5 May) Bull & Gate, Kentish Town a week Wednesday (9 May) BTW, I've still not rehearsed the set with the band yet! So far I've had an audition, a gig, two rehearsals for a studio recording of five songs, and then the recording session on Saturday. Learning by doing!!!

I got this R*****faker recently from Beedster as I had fond memories of my old 4001 (sold in 2008, my first gigging bass in phase 2 of my musician career beginning 2005). Unfortunately hindsight is rose-coloured and I am struggling with the ergonomics, having played a Precision as my main bass almost exclusively for the past 4 years (and having broken my left hand in between times which makes it uncomfortable to deal with narrower-than-Precision string spacing). Basically the slab body and (at least relatively vs Precision) narrow neck width just don't feel right to me and so I am going to try to move this on. It benefits from Rick electronics (including vintage tone control) and a toaster pickup and - courtesy of me - some brand new TI Jazz nickel rounds (>£35) which suit it perfectly (it doesn't work with heavy gauge strings). Only one minor issue is the scratchplate has a screwhole that is over the cavity so I have super-glued in a screw just to fill the hole and give a neater appearance. Beedster put £750 into this project, I've added the TI strings and I would like to get the £600 I paid back for this. Has a Warwick Rockbag padded gigbag and I will post, albeit pickup/meet-up preferred in London (I live nr Hammersmith and work nr Liverpool St) Beedster's ad below for reference. PM me for photos. I loved Moonmadness and Snow Goose back in the day but was disappointed at their post-Moonmadness output. Afraid I went off them when they played my local (Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall) in around 1980 and were utterly disinterested and didn't bother with an encore (despite the usual calls from the crowd). They really didn't want to be there and - as a teen with hard earned pockey money that paid for the gig - that was it for me. Occasionally listen to Moonmadness (still got it on my iPod; I love the ethereal Spirit of the Water more than the obvious ones like Lunar Sea).

Way cool, Rev! Here's some quite breathtaking music from Danny and the late John Martyn - makes me swell up ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohmSPv-rtSQ
