1. So is the latest copy of the mag out yet and has anyone had it delivered? I am sure its been at least two months since the last one? Steve
2. Have a bump for this beauty. I am sorely tempted myself but must resist........ Steve
3. I can't see what's to be gained by baiting the guy. Why make things worse for him when he is obviously p1ssed off with what has happened?
4. Has anyone received the latest issue? I had to write to them to get Januarys issue so I hope they havent forgotten me again. I also ordered a back issue that I had to write numerous eMails to receive. Very shoddy service and I won't be renewing. Steve
5. GB now withdrawn. Its too good to sell off cheaply. I should have started this at £1500, its a match for any other bass I have played. Steve
6. Amazed that this hasn't sold yet!! Have a BUMP
7. BUMP for this bargain. Its a steal at this price. Anyone who wants to pay by paypal I will charge you an extra 10%
8. Two stunning basses just posted. Congrats!! Steve
9. Open to trades plus cash either way for the following 4 string basses as its a crime that this bass isn't being gigged every week: GB Spitfire or Rumour Any Sadowsky Musicman Stingray Fender Jazz (USA only). 60's, early 70's or modern. Overwater Jazz Alleva Coppolo Jazz (We can live in hope) Thanks Steve
10. This used to be my bass so nostalgic PM sent. Steve
11. Dave bought my mates bassbone off him and I coordinated the transaction. He paid really quickly and it was really pleasant and easy to deal with. Steve
12. Save yourself the grief and just get some Bergs.
13.
Me neither Obviously embarrassed and deleted it.
If you read the post that does remain he explains it. "Interesting comments, clearly many have issues with the shop and there seem to be a mix of constructive and unconstructive ones. Giving the weight to the later, I'm removing my post for risk of further inflaming the situation. " If you think V&R are overpriced then don't buy from them. simple.
14.
He bought my Bergantino so I could buy more Bergantino. It was fabulous.
I bought his Bergantino so I could have more Bergantino and it was also fabulous. Steve
15. I bought my 65 Jazz from V&R in Bath and was very happy with the service I received and met Ben. I probably could have bought it for 15% cheaper on the 'street' but I have the assurance of knowing it is all original and its provenance is correct. I used them for the same reasons you may buy a Porsche from a reputable dealer as opposed to some guy in the paper. Steve
16. Gentle Bump! The Spitfire is still available and this is a fantastic price for a bass that would cost over £2000 new. I think if I had put it up at £1500 I would have had more interest, its certainly worth that amount but its on offer here at £1100.00 Steve
17.
Is there anyone here who's actually paid an obscene amount (or anything above its useful value at all...) for an instrument just because of its age/rarity? And I mean OLD age - I think the price of a new bass is obscene compared to the used market, but that hasn't stopped me buying several myself. Does anyone know anyone who's bought one of those crazily-priced 60s Fenders on eBay?
Yes my 65 Jazz was an obscene amount of money and is now worth about 2/3 or what I paid for it. The only consolation is that it is the nicest sounding bass I have ever played and if I had left the money in shares I would be down by more. Steve
18.
Acording to my dictionary gay is brightly coloured. So are highly figured tops gay? Are LED's gay?
Are you ok ferret? You seem to have come over all queer?
19.
They are really nice, I had a Metro Jazz and maybe didn't appreciate it enough at the time. I sold it on to Birdy. It'd be good to have a gander anytime you wanna do likewise with the Ovarywater. Peter
Wish I still had it Peter!! It was lovely but then again I havent seen a duff one yet. Steve
20.
PM sent..
I was hoping you would Al, this looks perfect for you!! Steve
21.
Yes its a good feeling having less basses for some strange reason
I agree with you on this point, its almost liberating. Steve
22.
This has started happening to me too in the last few days? Just the odd thread.
That'll be your wife paying Ped to fix it...
23.
I used a two-channel amp, but something like a Radial Bassbone would do the trick...
Ooh theres one for sale in the for sale effects section as well :-)
