1. Hard to describe using words but 'creamy' would probably be closest. I am actually at the point where I am pretty much there but its cost me a fortune to get there Jazz bass with played in rounds. Berg Rig with EBS or Summit Audio Pre BUT the biggest things I have done recently too improve my tone are a) raise the action and concentrate on better technique. Raising the action to about 3-4mm at the 12th fret seems to really let the full tone come through. I previously had the action at about 2mm and thought that I liked all that 'sizzle'. Thinking about how each note is fretted and using tips of fingers etc also seems to help me sound better. Steve

 3.
Gulp Chris - I'd love that
SOLD Seriously Al you could do a lot worse than flog everything and buy it! Steve
 4.
you will just have to keep it
That wouldn't be the end of the world. Giving up my quest to rule the world with five strings at the moment and going back to four so it would be a shame for it not to get played as often as it should. If it sells I think there could be another GB in my future plans possibly. I thought you were on a mission to buy all of the GB's anyway :-) Steve
 5.
Now that is lovely!! Where'd you get it from Steve?
Thanks Chris, got it from the Gallery. I must sort out some better pics, Alex took that one. Steve
 6. Celinder P sold pending the usual !! Come on lets go for the hat trick and get the GB sold. Offers? Reasonable ones considered. Steve
 7. Gorgeous bass, I just received one yesterday. Great price as well given the dollar price etc! Steve
 8. Heres the latest arrival!
 9. Here, Bass Direct and the Gallery. PMT in Birmingham for non bass stuff usually. Steve

 14. I haven't caught the Shuker bug myself and I normally don't like his non Jazz designs but that looks really classy and the photography is awesome, Congrats! Steve
 15. Would be an interesting buy but I think its overpriced. Somewhere around £2000 may be more sensible given its owner and pedigree would be realistic I reckon. Steve
 16.
Are Fodera's really that good to sell such great basses to fund one. Flippyflop is selling a Wal and a Rumour to fund his!
I think I have missed mine so will never know! Still nothing like a clear out now and again is there :-) There is a whole other thread dedicated to whether Foderas are worth the money in the Basses forum as well. Steve
 17.
Ive been round and tried all of these basses out, They are all stunning and I would buy them all If I had the funds. I can't beleive Steve is selling such a fantastic collection. What struck me most was the condition of these basses, they have been extremely well looked after. Steve is a top bloke, and you would strugggle to find anyone as honest about his basses. Best of luck with the sales!!(personally I think you are mad) Regards Mark
Thanks Mark, Was good to meet you today!! Hope to catch up with you around Sutton at some point. Steve
 18. Blimey Rich, where you pulling all these amps from
 19.
Pics of the GB don't seem to be displaying on the porn thread:
Hmmm.. Let me rectify this. 20. The Metro is now sold pending the usual. Apologies to all who enquired and made offers. I processed everything in order and have accepted the first definate offer that matches the asking price which I think is the fairest way to do it. Steve
 21.
I hear his preamps are mighty complex, what are the specs on them?
Found this here http://www.smbe.co.uk/gb2008/electonics2.htm Steve
 22.
If you sell the Sad, will you withdraw the GB?
Not necessarily and at the moment its still for sale. I think the PUPs and Preamp are Bernie's standard from around 2004 which I believe are the same as now apart from it doesnt have some of the extras such as the tuning pitch and metronome. I will drag out some pics... Steve
 23.
Where abouts are you based? The sadowsky is causing some major financial flatulence
Hi Russ, North Birmingham, Sadowsky may be sold, will know soon I think. Thanks Steve
 24.
So no shipping outside UK?
Hi There, Sorry I missed your previous request in all the excitement as I have been getting lots and lots of PM's. I would possibly ship to Portugal yes but would prefer a more local deal and it looks as though the Sadowsky may be sold. I will update the thread as soon as I know more. Thanks and Apologies, Steve
 25.
