Always see it, play it and then pay for it, that's my motto anyway .

I hope they restart production, my Q6 is about the best bass that I've ever played.

Now here is a good player, great playing skills and very creative. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kGzQav6FJo Scary to think what he'll be like in 10 years time. -
I just scan them into mine using a scanning app and view them using Amazons Kindle app or 'good notes'.

Listen to some horn players and vocalists too. Gotta say there are some players mentioned here who I didn't realise played fretless, Jimmy Haslip for instance, I'll have to check that out out 'cos I love his fretted playing. Has anyone mentioned Kai Ekhardt http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7w8njCYZ9s&list=RDdk4MAHAMYOw
And her rendition of some of the tunes are justapproxed, not exactly accurate other than that she might be a lass playing a bass, all I see it's a human playing it good or bad, that is all I see. we are in the year 2013, live with it. Jesus dudes, Carol Kay has been doing it for yonks! My mate Ellen O'Reilly can do that while singing, and looking a whole lot better
Ellen is class ! -
I find the standard phenolic fingerboards a bit too clacky so Rob has put rosewood boards on mine. You still get the stability and note definition of the graphite neck but with some warmth from the wooden board, the perfect combination to my ears. I've never seen one but Rob could probably do a wooden board on a Stingray neck, but it would make a fairly costly neck even more expensive.
I didn't realise status did that, interesting I knew modulus used to with their Chechen fretboard basses.

Is there any 6-string bass tab out there?
ambient replied to Scott S's topic in Theory and Technique
There's a guy called Todd Johnson, I think he's got some books out on 6 string playing. If you want to let me know any particular songs you want tab for, I can see if I can do it, I've got the Patitucci book, and can tab that for you or something. -
Hi mate. Yeah, I became all excited a couple of years ago when I bought the Patitucci book off Amazon...only to be gutted when it arrived and it was in standard notation instead of tab, lol.
Learn to read Just work the notes out, you'd have to listen to the track anyway with tab for the rhythm. -

Don't forget that Jaco's tone came from a Jazz bass with I don't know how many coats of epoxy resin on the fretboard.

Anyone interested in a double trade ? I have this for sale too http://basschat.co.uk/topic/221332-yamaha-trb6p/page__p__2269065#entry2269065 I'm interested in high end 6 strings, fretted or fretless, though I'd prefer a fretless.
