That's why I'm selling it really I have my modulus and my fretless so I really don't have need for another bass, and there are other things I do need.
2.
No your right, it's important to know what notes are in each key and why. I'd just imagine that reading is easier on a stringed instrument than it is on a piano as the shapes are always the same.
Just noticed your gear list, sorry for going right off topic here , a Wal 6 string WOW !
3. I was taught to fret a fretted bass as close to the fret as possible. On a lined fretless definitely on the line. Having just started on fretless, I'm surprised how easily I've adapted to it, and how good my hearing actually is, I know if the note is even only slightly out.
4. Probably best to know that the key has a C # and F# though. If you were just jamming in that key you'd want to know, or I'd want to, but I'm probably opening a huge tin of worms here
5. Key signatures are the flats or sharps at the start of the piece if music. They tell you what key you're in. No flats or sharps is either C major or its relative minor which is A minor. One flat is F major again that has a relative minor too D minor but I guess I'm complicating things a bit. Have a look at this, it may help.

Open to trades for the following - [s]Markbass, Acme or similar 1x12 or 2x12.[/s] Effects, I'd like a multi effects, possibly rack mount, maybe something by TC electronic. 7 string basses. Headless 6 string basses. Plus cash to me as appropriate.
7. You have to wait until the 2 minute mark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl7FhO__8fM He uses it on a few songs with Steven Wilson. I'd love one, but as someone else said, I just don't have the time to learn to play at the moment.

9.
I suppose I'm the only one who thought of the old Access credit card advert then
Eh ?
Wow! 4kgs would be light for an ash-bodied 4-string, let alone a 6er. (Unless it's swamp ash, of course.)
You're welcome to try it, the bass is at my parents house in Birmingham.
11. I had some KRK's, very nice and can be bought used. I currently have some Yamaha HS80M's that are really amazing, out of your price range maybe, but worth considering if you can up your budget at all. They're based on the old NS10's I believe.
Nice bass....any trades? And what's the weight? Oh, and a little correction: If the pickups are Rough Crystals, then they were made by LeFay, not Delano.
Hi, Should have used google, they have rough crystal on them, but I couldn't see what make, I've changed my advert. The weight according to my bathroom scales is 4kgs. Don't know about trades, try me. As long as I get some cash .
13. I'm mainly after reverb and delays, I hate distortion and overdrive on bass, possibly modulation effects too and some filters. Definitely not interested in the amp simulations that most seem to have. I'd like to be able to switch things around, and play about with presets which is why I'm after a multi effects unit, rather than separate pedals. Is something like a TC G major what I should be looking for. I'm really into the Steve Lawson, Michael Manring vibe thing. I do a lot of writing on my laptop, soundscapes etc, and want to get into a similar thing on bass. Thanks .
14. I'm interested in the Ditto looper, whereabouts in London are you ?
15. What sort of music are you looking for ?
16. Have you got a mac ? If you have then you can use garageband. If it's dorian then I highly recommend playing along to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEC8nqT6Rrk&feature=kp D dorian and Eb dorian.

This is a beautiful luthier built bass, crafted in the Mayones workshop in Poland. I have a nice selection of 6 string basses, and this is the least used, and I could do with the money for other projects that I'm becoming increasingly involved in. It's in excellent condition, with no major dents or scratches, just very minor player wear. Currently strung with D'addario Pro steels and has a nice low action. The pickups are LeFay rough crystal and the preamp is made by Noll. These together give a really clean and transparent sound. I had the ramp built by a local luthier, it's just attached with double sided tape, and can easily be removed. The body is ash, and the facing is Apple tree wood. The through neck is 9 pieces of ash and something else . Collection from either Birmingham or London is preferred. 18. The Ibanez BTB are through necked, seriously great value for money and are excellent basses too, not just for the money either, they're used by some pro prayers.
19.
This split my sides....excellent observation! I'm going to turn this topic on it's head and suggest that the most appealing (to me) thing about fretless basses is that they are uncommon. It's difficult these days to be unique...fretless bass is one of the last refuges of individualistic expression!
This site is crying out for a 'like button' !
20.
Not all no, never really liked Les Paul's or Teles. I wouldn't say no to a nice Sei like this ( with less strings) Or even a LUD X
I'd love either of them, beautiful !
21. A cheap fretless may put you off altogether. I've played some cheap and mid priced fretless basses, and found them to be very uninspiring. Have a play on a few fretless basses of similar quality to yours and then see what you think, if you don't like it after its been de-fretted, it's a relatively simple job to get it re-fretted.
22. I've found playing double stops useful for intonation practice, just minor 3rds, 5th etc.
23.
I know, I have one beady eye on the MM but I rarely stray from try-before-you-buy, and I don't often travel North to see my relatives in Redcar, Gateshead and Throckley. Anyhow, tried a Squier fretless P in Music Warehouse (Colchester) today - silly cheap for such a great sound, but terrible high action and roundwound strings fitted. Both easily fixed The whole point at the moment is to home in on what I do or don't like, so the more fretless basses I get to try, the better.
Keep the round wounds, or at least try them. I've been going between rounds, flats and half wounds this week, and settled on rounds, much more mwahh .
24. The Peavey grinds get a lot of recommendations over on talkbass.
