Both of the Fenders I've owned were American, a US standard 5 string jazz, and a 5 string Marcus Miller. Both had huge, and badly cut (unsquare) neck pockets. Some scratch plate screws were put in at an angle, so the heads protruded. I'd definitely want to see before buying.

Some interesting points. http://www.facebook.com/paul.j.watson.71/videos/10153981394626171/?pnref=story

Just sold a Protec Contego gig bag to Tony. A very easy and straightforward transaction, highly recommended.

It'd just be a 'generic' set up at best. Buying from a shop like the gallery for instance, it'd be setup to how exactly you wanted it.
Again it might be what they are saying, its still wrong.
Well seeing how I personally have no idea at all, I'll bow to your superior knowledge. However I personally wouldn't want someone passing a high voltage through the sensitive circuitry of something like a modern class D amp.

I love gabarek's recordings with the Hilliard ensemble. Such beauty.
Talked to my step dad about this (he's an electrician), he told me you should only PAT test whatever power leads your using.
That's what I was about to say. My cousin's husband is an electrician. I approached him a couple of years ago about getting my gear done. He said it would only be the removable cable that he would test anyway, he reckoned tests on the amp could damage circuitry.

What do you hope to achieve by using one ? That's what I say to myself when I'm thinking that I need something.
Personally I can't get on with headed Status models (see how I avoided pluralising them??.. didja??) I just expect them to be headless..
I prefer headless ones too. Never actually played one, they look to be extremely well made. I don't like LEDs either, at least not on the front of the neck. What's with all the knobs ? Looks very confusing. How did I know he was going to start slapping !

If the gauge of flats you want are the same as your current strings, why not hold up one of your strings against the tuning peg thing, and see if it would fit through the slot ?
-
Have you tried http://store.kaliumstrings.com/ I don't know if they do flats though.
-
Ah, sorry I didn't see the bit about medium scale. I don't know, would it ?

Amazon do singles. I'm sure strings direct do too, just select singles, rather than sets.
I know a few composers with these type of scores. They all use Adobe Illustrator for them if that helps.
That's great, thanks. I'll look into that. A friend mentioned Inkscape too. Thanks again
Each to his own, but given a choice of classic Blues, country, classic rock, or gothic thrash I think I'd prefer to give up playing all together.
Me too 😊

I don't consider it 'selling out', to have your music used in an advert. There are things that I wouldn't be happy it used to advertise though. I've heard the song 'Sonny' used in an ad for some loan company.

If you play a C major scale starting on C, it's the C major scale, or C Ionian mode. If you start on the next note, D, and only play the same notes from the C major scale, then that's the D Dorian mode. If you repeat the exercise all the way through the notes of the C major scale, then you play the following modes, each has its own characteristic sound. 3rd E Phrygian - has a semitone between the first and second degree, sounds kind of Spanish. 4th F Lydian - has a #4th. 5th G Mixolydian - look at it as a major scale with a flat or minor 7th. 6th Aolean or relative minor scale. So in C major it's A minor. 7th Locrian or minor 7b5, sometimes called half diminished. It's good to play a one octave major scale starting on whatever note you want. Then play all through each mode, you'll get to hear how each sounds. Playing a G major scale starting on F# you'd be playing F# Locrian mode, so F#, G, A, B, C, D, E, F#. See why it's called a minor 7b5 with A being the minor 3rd, C the b5, E the minor 7 ?
If you're just trying to do a visual without any kind of meaning I would go for something like Inkscape but it may take a little time to learn
It's got to have a meaning. I have to compose 2 pieces of music, but use graphic notation, text or some other none standard means of communicating it.
Assuming you're using PC. Have a look at your Character map. It should have all your fonts in it. You can just cut and paste from that into your drawing package.
I use a Mac. Thanks for the suggestion though. I've got until mid April, but want to start on it, just for my peace of mind.
Word is essentially a glorified type-writer. While it might be possible to do, you'd probably spend as long (if not longer) trying to learn how to achieve this as you would actually doing it. You need to right tools to do the job properly but you also need the right skills to use them (a bit like music really). If I was looking to create something like this I'd probably be looking at a combination of Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign as well as a more traditional notation program, together with a Wacom Cintiq for getting it all onto the computer in the first place, but then, I've already go the tools and the know-how to use them, so I'm not going to be taking a lot of time to learn a whole new set of skills. There seems to be a lot of misconceptions about computer programs for graphics and an incorrect assumption that just owning one will automatically give you all the skills you need. No-one here would assume that owning a DAW automatically makes you an ace composer or producer, so why would graphics be any different? Which brings me on to: And TBH this is still the way I'd do it. The computer is great for getting things neat and accurate, but the roughness and hand-drawn look is what makes the images you posted originally so compelling. And be creating a true "original" you also create extra value to you score should you ever become well-known enough as a composer. You can't replicate the uniqueness of the one-off original manuscript with a computer file. Also even if I was to go with the software approach I'd still be starting with something hand drawn on paper which I would then scan in to use as a template. Again it's a question of using the right tools for the job. Does it really have to be neat? I'm sure the composer(s?) of the manuscripts you posted originally would have something to say about that. Of course it depends on what you are actually going to produce. IMO so long as what you produce is legible and understandable by the musicians who are expected to perform the music from your score, then it is neat enough. EDIT: If I didn't already have the skills and tools to do this on the computer, I'd be investing my time an energy in improving my basic drawing and penmanship using pens and paper.
We were looking at some Ferneyhough scores and his handwritten notes for his string quartet no 2 in a lecture today. I'm thinking of trying hand drawn stuff, maybe use pencil first and then possibly go over in ink. Thanks for the reply 😊.
