1. Notes and also the chords. If you know the chords the you can always improvise a part.
Serious bass from a serious bassist.
Thanks I just found this video of my bass, being demoed by the nice people at Bass direct.
3. Great, well done. I could never do anything like that. I woodwork class at school, I specialised in taking a large piece of wood, and ending up with some smaller oddly shaped pieces of wood. Same now too if I try diy.
4. An ebow is an amazing little and relatively cheap device for this sort of thing.
5.
Like above, I think this would be a hard thing to conceal for a month and the seller probably had no knowledge. How many times have you had a vehicle break down with a major fault? How many times were you aware this was going to happen 4 weeks in advance? I bought a car a few years back, and within 2 weeks the cambelt snapped costing me over £1000 to repair the top end of the engine. Absolutely no way the seller could have known this would happen. If you're confident he did know, you'd have to prove it had been concealed somehow for the sale. Hoping it gets sorted.
My dad has been in the motor trade for 40 years. The very first thing he does when buying any new vehicle, and something I've heard him tell others dozens on times, is check when/if the cam belt has been changed. If there's nothing to say it has been, then change it straight away. It's a relatively minor and cheap thing that can save you msmy hundreds of pounds. I know absolutely nothing about cars, and got my fingers burned a few years ago when I bought a car on my own. Which was actually a really stupid thing considering my dad and 2 brothers are all mechanics. I would always take someone with me to look at the car, and to check it's history, even if you have to pay them something for their time.
6. I'd have thought a month was too long to elapse. Did you get it checked by a mechanic before buying it ?

The original owner changed the factory fitted Bartolini pickups for a pair of custom Kent Armstrongs. The sale also includes the original Bartolini pickups.
8.
Just getting into this myself... So what I've discovered so far is that for drones and ambient echoes, the bass is to low and quickly becomes muddy. So the solution? As we don't want to sully ourselves with those thin stringed instruments is to get an octave up pedal... many choices but a cheap but good one is a Rowin octpus before you do your ditto looper... And then, for ambient goodness trial a stacked delay or Strymen (if you can afford one!). The TC Flashback Triple is a lot of echo for £200 and you get to stack in parallel or serially. Here's a great YouTuber giving you the skinny on this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwyiN3wF2_Q
Just use eq to prevent muddiness. I've never personally used an octaver, I've never seen Steve Lawson use one. Don't play too low either. For drones I'd probably not go below an E at the 7th fret on the A string. Eq is important to separate each layer, presuming you're looping.
9. Steve Lawson is master of this sort of thing.
10. Just a basic loop pedal like a TC Ditto.
11. I've done a lot of that, here's my Bandcamp page. Reverb and delay with get you the right sort of sounds. I also use an ebow to create synth type pads. https://an-ending-ascend.bandcamp.com/
12. Yamaha, I use the HS8s. I tried KRKs a few years ago, they're particularly coloured, not really what I'd describe as being studio monitors.
13. I've never heard of them, but that may have something to do with my particular taste in music. Personally I'd tell the venue that you're not happy, and that you're going to speak to the MU about getting compensation. See if that does any good.

A very reluctant sale. This is a fantastic example of Keith Roscoe's craftsmanship. It is in absolutely perfect condition, the action is the lowest of any bass that I've owned. Bought by me from on here in December last year. I'm selling to release some capital from it, and to purchase a similar fretless. It features -

Spanish Cedar Body,
Exhibition grade Quilted Maple top (£500 upgrade)
Finish - Cherryburst gloss with cherry back
Maple/Purpleheart/Maple neck with contrasting stringers
Fingerboard - Bird's eye maple(£60 option), black side markers
Graphtech nut
35" Scale - 24 fret
Bartolini 3-band pre amp with volume, pan, treble/bass stack, mid/mid freq select push/pull (250/800hz)
Kent Armstrong Custom JJ Pickups
Black ultralight tuners
Black Hipshot A style bridge in Aluminium
Roscoe hard case (£100 option)
Weight: 4.1kg/9lb
£1500 collection from Birmingham/London or meet up only.
17. Still don't see why you'd play the D at the 5th fret of the E. If I was playing 8ths, (assuming that's what's going on, which is why I don't like TAB), I'd play the D,A bit using a fretted D at the 5th fret on the A string, then possibly the open A. Making it easier to mute the A string.
18. I'm puzzled as to why you'd play it like he/she does. Fretted A at the 5th fret, followed by fretted B, C, C# etc. Then play open A, and C, Bb on the A string. Notes are going to sound different tonally played on different strings, and different positions. Just play it all from 5th fret E string.
19. I thought they'd closed down.
20. I've never seen that shop before.
21. Sounds to me like they new it was a studio. They now know you have an alarm too.
22. Where was this 3 months ago 😄.
23. Watch your self in a mirror, or video yourself using your phone or laptop. Just to see if you're putting particular strain on your wrists. Make sure that you drink plenty of water too.
24. This is a great interface, in perfect condition. It received some amazing reviews when it was brought out. I'm only selling because I just bought an Apogee. It comes complete with the original packaging and the breakout cables. £150 including next day special delivery postage.
