  1. What is it with guitards & 4x12s? Last band I was in with a guitardist, he would go stereo through 2 4x12s in the rehearsal room. Sounded bloody awful. The 1 gig we did, he played through a 1x12 combo & it sounded really good.
  2. Don't get caught up in watts. You can put a low wattage amp through an efficient cab & it'll be loud. If I were buying, I'd probably go for 2 1x12 cabs. I can use just one in the house & for most small gigs, then add the 2nd for when I need more volume. Saying this, I used to have a MarkBass 2x10 which got used everywhere. From in the bedroom, to Beer Festivals.
  3. I love how this thread has gone from Al Krow asking a typical noob question about Ω, to debating fundamental frequencies. All in less than 5 months! Isn't it great what BC & it's members can teach one another.
  4. Finger drummer? Something like an Akai MPC for drums?
  5. I got it this morning. Opened up Safari on my phone & got the pop up (BC is usually the last page I was on, so it's normally the first page to open). Closed Safari & opened again. all fine.
  6. Fantastic album. Like mix between Aurora, Bjork & Sigur Ros. Cheers for this. 😎
  7. I never knew the lyrics. That's a b*gger of a song!
  8. I’d be fighting it. They have admitted that they sent it to the wrong place, so not so much lost or damaged, but sent to the wrong place by them. Check the small print & see if it says anything about that. If your home insurance has legal cover, see if it can help you. In most instances, it will.
  9. Every band I've been in, I've tried to get them to play this song just so I can play that bassline. The versions with Chromeo and Meyer Hawthorne are pretty good too.
  10. I sold 2 Moog pedals (now wish I hadn't). Used I Post Parcels for both. Insurance was only a few quid extra & both delivered without issue (Bass Murf went to Norway). I've used them a few times since & would highly recommend them.
  11. ’ve used my iPhone as a sound module, but I wouldn’t rely on the connectors for regular gigging. However, a MacBook connected to an audio interface is perfectly fine. Here’s my set up.
  12. Oh, I rememeber this bloke using a capo on bass...
  13. Capos are only for acoustic guitars. Even electric guitars should refrain from using them & just man up & learn the chords. Playing in a worship band that’s female lead, there’s very few songs played in the original key, which can make the song sound nothing like the original.
  14. Capo? You could detune to the lowest & then capo as per song pitch.
  15. For years I thought it was about having a good old Thomas (the tank). Turns out it’s not. "Turning Japanese is all the clichés about angst and youth and turning into something you didn't expect to." wait a min... Maybe I was right. “I didn’t expect to turn into a w**ker”.
  16. Sad news indeed. I do like the Prodigy.
  17. I had TI jazz on my bass for 3 years & then the D string popped at the bridge. I was gutted, as you can’t buy single strings & they were just starting to wear in nicely. After a similar thread to this one, I opted for Chromes & considering they’re @ £20 cheaper than TIs, they sound fantastic. They’re brighter, but if that’s an issue, the tone knob resolves it.
  18. Well done. It is a good tune & fitting for the pic.
  19. FRFR (or a PA top) was my first thought too.
  20. Not played it as a main song, but me & a drummer jam 24k Magic by Bruno Mars. If I've got the Seaboard, I'll alternate between it & the bass. Such a fun bassline to play. Another great song to play is Wynonna's big brown beaver by Primus. Just soooo much fun & sounds harder than it is.
  21. I've got a late entry. I thought we had one more day & was working on it for much of the day. Am I too late? It's in the other thread.
  22. Finally got mine done. Past few months I've started them, but run out of time.
  23. Accidentally started listening to James Blake - Assume Form album. It's absolutely superb. Such a chilled out blend of old sleepy jazz meets electronica. Really love this song.
  24. +1 The Sire basses get excellent reviews & like Ibanez, are fantastic value for money. I'd happily have either. Ibanez had a rock image for a while (back in the 90s), but I find they have a great pallette of sounds and fit in with just about any genre both sound and visually.
  25. The main question still remains to be asked... Are they any good for metal?
