  1. Sorted it. I created a new midi profile in Midi Studio, closed Audio Midi setup & then reopened Logic. Had to re set up the Jorge as Mackie Control, but it all works perfectly. Thanks. I’d have never looked there had you not pointed me there.
  2. Well I had a look, but I've not succeeded. Tried creating an Aggregate device, but that only seems to be for audio devices (it sees my audio interface, but none of the midi devices. In "Midi studio" I can see my controllers, but I can't see how to make a composite device. I googled to see where I was going wrong, but couldn't find an answer.
  3. Nope, I didn't even know that existed. I'll go have a look just now.
  4. For my birthday (was Sunday), the Mrs got me a Korg Nanokontrol2. I've set it up as a Mackie Control within Logic so I can use it as a mixer, but whenever I turn on my keys controller (NI S61 mk2) it stops working as a mixer. Do any of you fine chaps know if there is a way around this?
  5. GarageBand is essentially the "Demo" version of Logic. When you open Logic for the first time, it's in a simplified version that's not too dissimilar to GB. But as you get to know it, you can then go into the file menu (Logic Pro>Preferences>Advanced>Enable complete features) to open the whole thing up.
  6. 👆 What he said. 😀
  7. As my Mrs calls them, "Cardboard box" songs. They're very predictable, uninspiring & follow the same formula every time. It's pretty much all our church plays. All the main worship bands seem to release albums full of these sort of songs. There'll be one or two that are slightly better, but our worship leader ladies seem to have a knack of picking the worst tracks from each album.
  8. The sad reality is that the majority of CCW can be played on one string without any difficulty. I’ve found myself not practicing to the original versions of songs anymore & just find acoustic versions to practice along with. This way, a more fitting bassline prevails during worship.
  9. Having a 4x10 sat under my hall stairs for the past few years, I'd say 10s are now my least fave speaker size. 😂
  10. I'm offended at you not being offended when others are offended! Today I'd like to identify as an orange lesbian, but I don't know that the wife will let me.
  11. Thanks all. 😃 Hoping that the Mrs will sing more in future.
  12. He doesn’t have the TIM.
  13. Wasn’t there a bunch all left after a disagreement about 5-6 years ago?
  14. What a fantastic bunch of songs. Gonna struggle to choose just 3. I need another listed.
  15. Your singer sounds very much like David Byrne (Talking Heads). 😎
  16. Plug-in alliance are doing this again 🤩
  17. It's not as finished as I wanted & the Mrs wanted to redo her vocal (she hates her voice, but I love it). I'm fairly happy with what we've done so far & hope to get her singing more songs for me. Edited as I felt the vocal was slightly on top of the song (rather than part of it). Bass is a mix of synth and real, I played both parts. Here's the update... https://soundcloud.com/feintmotions/doomsday-cover
  18. Keep up the good work, it's a fantastic site. Merry Christmas
  19. The Mrs has asked if we could cover Doomsday by Lizzie McAlpine. proper bluesey song with an interesting progression.
  20. Get a good sound from your bass to start with is a good starting ground. Something I’ve recently discovered is to add a send buss on your bass track & send it to a reverb, increase the send until you can hear the reverb, then take it back a very slight amount. It works wonders. But I’m following this, as I want to get a more pro quality sound too.
  21. If the bassline itself is good, but doesn't fit with the song, save it for another song.
  22. Same as LukeFRC. I use the MX-Q app for mixing the in ears (works with eh Behringer M-32 mixer) & the Bible app.
  23. That's every week at my church. It's usually towards the end of the sermon that the worship pastor or a worship leader will send a WhatsApp saying "We'll do this song" & sometimes it's accompanied by a chord chart. 1/2 the time it's a song I've never heard before, so it's made up on the spot. Thankfully I only play about once a month.
  24. Native Instruments are running a competition on Metapop to write score for a new instrument video, so I thought I'd give it a try. I never thought writing soundtrack score could be so much fun. That moment when you get the sound you want for something (like footsteps) is a good feeling. I don't expect to win, as there's some fantastic entries, but it's a good learning experience. If anyone else fancies trying it, they give you the video & a dialogue track. https://metapop.com/pages/promos/the-solos-native-instruments-ashlight?p=1&status=live&type=all I did this over the weekend...
  25. Difference is, the secular stuff more often has interesting music. The thing is, Church has some good & interesting vocal melodies (okay, the lyrics can be a bit "church buzzword diarrhoea"), but most decent secular songs have far better musicianship. Look at Gospel music. Great musicianship and very singable songs.
