1. Cheers Dunc! It really a nice bit of kit. As you say, I always just keep everything flat and just dial in whatever sound I want with the enhance knob. Very easy to sound good (even when your playing is as dodgy as mine!). Forgot to say that I’ll pack this up for shipping if someone wants to organise their own courier. I might also be able to meet halfway for a prospective buyer, as long as they don’t live in Scotland or Cornwall 😊 Don’t be shy on the trade front either. I’m a terrible gear and gadget whore so there’s not much that I wouldn’t consider! I can also add £££ if someone came up with something interesting.
2. I'm not gigging at the moment, and have just bought a Fender Bassman TV from here for my office, so this is sitting unused. Probably the best 2x10 combo I've ever used, but it's overkill for me right now. It's 300 watts @ 8 ohms, 550 watts @ 4 ohms, and 750 watts @ 2 ohms. These were £1500 when new. It's in very good condition - I got it about a year or so ago. Comes with the Eden footswitch for mute / channel swap. Has tube or solid state input channels, and is LOUD! It's pretty heavy but not unmanageable, and has recessed grab handles on the side. Obviously it all works as it should. Details from Eden's website below: [i]The new DC210XLT is the answer to requests for our highly acclaimed World Tour and David Series in a combo format. Our goal in designing the Metro was to create a self-contained unit that sacrificed none of the performance of our separates. The Metro's dual channel preamplifier section gives you the choice of a tube or solid state preamp, with full footswitch control. Each channel includes an independent effects loop, with 500 watts into 4 Ohms (over 750 watts into 2 Ohms). The Metro truly outclasses any 210 combo on the market today. Standard features include, switchable automatic compression, 5-way semiparametric tone control and electronic crossover, independent channel effects loops, stereo aux input, headphone out, tuner mute on footswitch, internal speaker on/off, and -12dB pad. You’re welcome to arrange your own courier - I’ll ensure it’s packed up well. Trade wise - I've got nothing specific in mind, but try me with what you've got. I'm pretty open to any trades... Any questions, please ask.
3. Bought Rick’s Fender Bassman TV combo today. Rick was a total gent - drove out of his way to meet up in person, and the combo is fab (not to mention it’s exactly as described). Top man to deal with. Oh, and one day, that 4005 will be mine, Rick!
4.
I quite regularly go to gigs at the Institute in Digbeth and I wasn't aware of the Digbeth dining club. I'll definitely be having a look at that the next time I'm there on the weekend, so cheers for the heads up.
They have some decent live music in the Digbeth Dining Club - we saw a superb blues band there a couple of weeks ago. If you do find a band you want to see there, head to the upstairs bar, as you can grab a table that overlooks the stage (and is close to a much quieter bar!)
5.
The new Royal Birmingham conservatoire has opened. They have loads of free gigs, Check the website. Ikon Gallery is always worth a visit, Town hall etc. You should check out hare and hounds in Kingsheath and Moseley in general. 15 minute bus ride on the 50. The O2 and institute. The Custard factory.
If you go to the Hare & Hounds, it's on Kings Heath high street, so plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from. Alternatively if you go to the Custard Factory, you have to go to the Digbeth Dining Club, which is a great night out (http://digbethdiningclub.com).
6. Well, predictably my will power didn't last long.... PM incoming
7. Ooh, I’ve always been interested in one of these, and I’m only about an hour from Northampton... I’ll need to think carefully about this!
8. I think this is a non-issue. Many times I've bought a bass, and sold it a week later.... instead of taking new pics, I've just used the previous ones. Looks like this is the situation here. For any potential buyers, you only have to look at the seller's feedback, and Rich's 100% positive feedback speaks for itself.
9. Yes please - PM on the way.
10. I don't have a white Precision... Why the price differential between 1 & 3? Is it down to condition seeing as the production dates are close. Same neck profiles on each? Thanks.
11. That looks great! Congrats. What level of skill do you have to have to go on that course? Being more-than-slightly challenged in the woodwork department, I'm pretty sure that I'd be hopeless, but I've seen some really impressive results from pretty much everyone who attends that course.
12. Couple of cracking basses there. Great quality parts and Chris certainly knows how to put a decent bass together. I'm a little bit tempted by the '57 P bass, as I've heard really good things about those necks. Must resist
13. I bought a bunch of patch cables from Adam for some pedals I'd got hold of. They arrived nice & quick and were immaculate. Highly recommended! Mark.
14. Bought 3 Boss pedals plus a case & PSU from Alex. The pedals were very well priced, and arrived within 48 hours. They're in super condition and work perfectly, so I'm very happy with the deal. Alex kept in touch throughout and went out of his way to ensure everything went smoothly. Highly recommended chap to deal with! Thanks Alex. Tredders
15. And welcome from another local! J.12 M40 here. I had no idea so many of us were in the same region. Remind me why we haven't organised a N Oxford Bass Bash yet...?
16. Hi Kaomny I spend a lot of time in Finland with work (I just got back from Espoo yesterday). Lovely country and lovely people. But very expensive beer Welcome to BC... it's a great friendly place to hang out. Mark.
17. If these are still for sale, I'll have them.
18. Peter Allen near Warwick does all of my setups. He did a great job on my 4003. Website here: http://www.guitartechnicalservices.co.uk Highly recommended by me.
19. I've only ever had good experience both from Mark and the other guys in there. Sure, Mark always takes the mickey out of me for predominantly using Fenders, as he insists (no doubt correctly) that there are better options, but we have a joke about it, and it's only lighthearted. Many's the time I've sat in the shop, played a big selection of different basses, and bought nothing. I've never felt pressure to purchase in there - often I've been the only person in the shop and Mark's said "I'll be in the office, give me a shout if you need anything". As with everyone else, I can only comment on my own experiences, but it's only ever been positive for me.
20. I really hope someone buys this soon. I have terrible GAS for this...

Had the pleasure of trading with Martin today. He drove all the way from Manchester to Warwick for the deal, too. We sat, had a cuppa and natter on all things bass, and I've come away with a really tasty US Fender PJ, which I'm really happy with. Top man all round. Pretty sure we'll trade again in the future, particularly if I can rid him of his irrational dislike of all things Fender Cheers Martin - you're a star...
22. Fret wraps! http://www.gruvgear.com/fretwraps Been wanting to try them myself for a while but just haven't got round to it.
