  1. That’s a hell of a price for this kind of quality!
  2. That’s lovely. Tell me I don’t need another P bass...
  3. Yep - £650 is a good price for one of these. Been wanting to try one myself for a while and it’s getting into “shall I shan’t I” territory...!
  4. Welcome aboard... You live in Solihull? My birth town
  5. Something about black / maple with a black plate on...
  6. That’s really nice. Not sure if it’s a reflection on the photo, but is there a dink on the rear of the neck, by the first fret? Genuinely interested in this, hence the question.
  7. The date of the last post above is 4 years ago... chances are it has sold by now 😊
  8. Why do I keep going back and looking at those things? Having owned a Jack Casady (twice!) and an AGB200, and never got much use out of them, I shouldn’t even be considering it... But the block inlays look great, they do some cool colours and they sound so good on the YouTube clips... 😃
  9. Half priced D'Angelico EX 4 strings at Thomann - £620 instead of over £1200.... seems like a decent deal, and they get very good reviews. I was tempted by one of these myself, but know it'll end up unused... https://m.thomann.de/gb/dangelico_excel_hollow_body_bass_grey_bk.htm?o=3&search=1520114368 Various colours available too, and they even come with a decent hard case Hopefully of use to someone...
  10. Thanks for all the comments and trade offers. This has now been traded.
  11. Yes, no problem. Shipping will be at cost price for the buyer. I’ve shipped abroad before without issue. Also, I’m in Denmark (CPH) quite often with work, so depending on my next visit, may be able to meet up.
  12. Thanks for that. I'm trying to work out how well this would compare against a JV '62... there seems to be very little info around on these models, and I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or a bad thing!
  13. Aaah, like I didn’t have enough GAS at he moment! That’s really nice...
  14. I’ve been looking for a decent 62 RI P bass and have been offered one of these FSR models. It’s a 2014, and has had some decent upgrades made to it (TI flats, pro setup, Lindy Fralin pups fitted, CTS pots, switchcraft jack, cloth wiring). Whilst I’ve played & owned (and like a fool, sold) both the more common US and Japan reissue basses, I’ve never played or heard much about the more recent FSR models. Anyone tried one? It’s the blue one with tortie pick guard, which seems to have been quite a limited run. See below for sample pic. Anyone care to hazard a guess as to value of one of these? Thanks in advance.

    SOLD

Have you got any more recent pics?
  16. We’re practically neighbours! I’m in Northend... don’t suppose you fancy a trade for a Stingray, do you?
  17. Edited the post to add the weight (4kg on my scales). I've also added some photos - straight out of my iPhone, no editing, so excuse the quality.
  18. NOW TRADED - THANKS FOR ALL THE INTEREST I got this in a recent trade, and nice as it is, it's not a keeper for me. Lovely bass, absolutely as new - there is literally not a scratch on it. It's a 2007 Ernie Ball Stingray 3EQ 4 string. Fitted at Christmas with a fresh set of Ernie Ball Slinkys, and it sounds just like a Stingray should. Comes with the official Music Man hard case. I've had Stingrays in the past, but the neck on this one is particularly good - very nice bit of maple, which you can see from the photos. It's currently fitted with the standard black pick guard, but as you can also see in the photos, it also comes with a nice perloid one shown too. The colour is more creamy than white. It weighs in at just over 4kg on my bathroom scales. And with the additional pearloid scratch plate... Things I would be interested in: Yamaha 2024 or 2024x Yamaha BB2000 / BB3000 (or similar) Thunderbird (sunburst) Nash / Bravewood Precision Nice Lakland (Bob Glaub / Decade) Fender US Mike Dirnt Roadworn US AV P Bass JV 62 P Bass As you can probably see from the list of wants, I'm pretty much a P bass player, but this list is by no means exclusive, and I'm happy to add £££ for the right deal. If you've got something else of interest, let me know. No active basses, 4 strings only and I'm more vintage than modern... Oh, I'd also sell it for £800 if someone has real money they want to get rid of! I'm based just off j12 of the M40 (Warwickshire / Oxford border), and would prefer a meet up. I'm also happy to meet any prospective buyer/trader at Bass Direct (20 mins from my place), so you could kill two birds with one stone and pay them a visit at the same time. Postage isn't a problem, and will be charged at cost price. I've sold so many basses on here, I've got it down to a fine art now Any questions, let me know.
  19. Thanks. I shall go and edit it now then.
  20. I'm probably being thick here, but should my old signature appear when I turn this back on again? Were old signatures carried over? I've set the signature slider to on (after posting this thread), but nothing's appeared (and I don't want to just create a random post to test it!).
  21. I know. Rather embarrassingly, I just found it via a google search in, erm, about two seconds. It’s been a long week... 😅
  22. Have you got any more info on what’s original? I know it’s a (very nice) refin paint job, and you mentioned that 3 frets had been replaced, but has anything else been replaced? Pickguard, pups, pots, wiring etc? Also, do you know the story behind the crack near the headstock? I’m assuming that it’s a long standing thing and is rock solid but wanted to check. Having a real hard think about this, so I’d appreciate any more info (the original sales thread refers to another thread with all the details in, but I couldn’t find that one). Thanks.
