3.
I've got a Boss PW10 that I don't use anymore, if you fancy it? Never been a fan of wah really, I just liked it for the rotovibe and resonance settings.
is that the one with built in distortion? andy
 4.
Hell Yea I think the 450 might be a little underpowered for your needs though. I am sure I have read somewhere in a review the SS Ampegs didn't feel like the power ratings they had stated.
+1! i used to have a pro 6 and that was way overrated, i played a used 450 in a shop and it was going through a 410 ampeg cab not sure if it was hlf or not. but was very quite had the volume at about 3/4 and dnt get me wrong it was loud but i then played a lm2 through same cab and couldnt have it past half was way to loud! i love ampeg cabs but im not to fussed over there amps anymore, the cl and vr's are lovely amps but for the size and weight of the things i dnt think they worth it! andy
 5. hi guys! my crybaby died yesterday, and i have a gig on the 30th, so not got alot of time to hang around but i want to get something decent! ive thought of another 105q but i really wasnt overly in love with it i just really liked the way you didnt have to turn it on! you can just stand on it! ive used a morley dual bass wah in the passed and felt it wasnt really all that great! ive been looking on line and am wondering if i got a second hand boss auto wah and then got the expression pedal is this like having a wah? so i can sweep it with my foot? or does it just change a setting there are no videos that i can find? im thinking also having an auto wah could be quite nice on some of our funkier numbers! andy

 7. the aguilar db750 is a beast! i use it with my ampeg 610 so loud! but can be gritty if i push the gain enough. andy
 8.
Boxload of assorted BP and BGM mags from the last 7 or 8 years (not counted them but guess about 100 or so, maybe more). Free to anyone who can pick them up from Rudgwick in West Sussex (RH12 3DX). If no interest by the weekend then off to the recycling centre
random q dnt suppose one of these has rob trujillo on the cover? been looking for this one for a while as i hate the cd version ive got! andy
 9.
Gain based stuff is a bit reliant on input/output signal levels and impedance. The FX loop has a tendency to be line (loud) level, and expect that same loudness to be put back in, but gain pedals tend to be more gainy with more going in and output the same signal, so they might all disagree and give you a very distroted, but very quiet signal, plus the impedance mismatch might make it very thin too (but I don't understand how that works).
ok i think i get that! ill try that at practice, tried blending the metal muff with clean using my ls-2 today sounds awesome! think im gonna hook myself up with another ls-2 in the new year so i can switch between the blended muff and probs another blended effect. andy
 10. ok cool that sounds fine. is there any truth to what i heard about gain based effects going in the effects loop? im gonna mix a metal muff in using the effects loop? andy
 11. i know its not all valve! but i love my aguilar db750! sounds beastly with my 610hlf and believe me its defiantly loud enough to go past two guitarists and an insanely loud drummer. also gets gritty when you crank the gain, not to the level of say an orange ad200b, but enough that its not clean. and it sounds really nice uber clean with some chorus! when i got mine i a/b'd it with a ampeg cl and it blew it out of the water! seriously i can't say enough good things about it! andy
 12.
The tu-80 is a nice bit of kit but personally i'd get a pedal tuner, either a korg or boss. both excellent. For adding colour to you're sound I'd suggest a chorus pedal as a first buy, then maybe an octaver. Work you're way up to the "harsher" fx like synths gradually. Theres nothing worse than too many fx going on at once.
+1! i used to have a boss tu-2 now have a tu-3 awesome tuner and also it can power 7 other pedals! yeh chorus is a nice start ive got a crappy behringer one and it does a nice job tbh! and i think it only cost about have what a boss chorus cost or you could just get a multi effects pedal and see what effects you like plus a friend of mine has a me-50b? i think thats what it is and that has a tuner built in so you get the lot! andy
 13. just been looking on the net, and it says to stay away from distortion in your effects loop? anyone know about the phase of a ehx metal muff? as thats what i want to blend in with my clean signal? andy
 14.
Have you tried your FX loop? On the LMII there is a jumper inside that allows you to have the FX loop series or parallel, does the DB 750 have something similar?
id totally forgot about this! ok so ill try that at practice! so im now thinking of getting an ls-2 to switch the effects in the loop will this work? also just checking that i need it in series for stomp boxes yeh? andy
 15. need to blend a couple of effects with my clean tone, or maybe just two effects? can one or a couple of ls-2's do this? andy
 16. need some money as im skint! so price drop, comes with box and power adapter will take £100! awesome pedal for synthy filtered sounds! andy
 17.
Just done. Just need to sort out the power supplies and get a Muff of some sort to fill that gap, not yet decided on which one though.
awesome! andy
 18. okay so im also gonna throw the spector legend series in there to!? love how this looks!
 19.
There's a nice US Peavey Cirrius 5'er in PMT Manchester @ £699 its pretty much mint too lovely bass for the money 35"scale and costs close to 2k new. I keep looking at it but 5's are not for me.
ive tried one of those and just didnt get on with it? dnt know why! played it for about an hour tho so wasnt a five minute thing. ok so im guessing that 17-17.5 is the norm string spacing, yes modulus do a wide neck but im inclined to believe that that neck as someone said would be silly huge! im thinking i may just wait it out and try and find an old sr5 me thinks? although i am still tempted by a different spec modulus? but i want something dif so i think im almost decided!? although i have just seen a warwick vampire! andy
 20.
The Bongo, in my view, is a very powerful flexible instrument. Nothing sounds or looks like a Bongo, and you WILL be heard in the mix. The shape is definitely growing on me. The magnets in the Bongo are neodymium. The latest 2008- Ray 5s are the alnico pups like a Ray 4, so they are much sweeter sounding, and 100% Stingray. The older Ray 5s and the Sterling 5 are ceramic magnets, and are full on aggressive bite (although they can be tamed). I personally like both. I would also love to own a Bongo 5 HH.
i like the sound of the bongo! my modulus is very loud in the mix to so its helped sort my sloppiness (a bit anyway!) so the idea of a HH bongo is a possible goer! and incase people are wandering i dnt mind the styling at all! although i do like the sound of this growl thats in older rays! whats the norm for string spacing on the sr5's? 17mm? as im used to 19mm with my mody. andy
 21.
Thanks for the ad
nice bass man! i immediately thought of of an sr5! as they really do seem to do it all! and yeh as some have said if i can grab something secondhand then i wont spend the whole lot that i save. anyone got a fender p 5 string? and whats peoples view of the mm bongo? andy
 22. apart from the first bass i had! ive never felt the urge to play a fiver, but recently ive been watching alot of videos and hearing parts in my bands music where i could use the lower notes that a five string bass would give me. but as i said ive only really played one 5 string which was made by axl, and was a bad musicman copy. ive played for fun a spector six string which was nice but only played it for 5 mins so could really tell if i liked it. theres obviously the big names like musicman, zon and warwick, but alot of these i cant try with out going along way so want to kinda have a bit of info on them before i travel etc. im gonna try and save up about 2000? so basically looking for what you guys and girls would go for in the five string market with that amount to spend? i play hard rock so looking for something that would suit that, and just encase your wandering in currently playing a modulus fb4, i have considered getting a fb5 but i would be unable to try it before shelling out the money so it might be a no go. andy
