  1. Played a small festival tent with one of these and unfortunately couldn't hear myself at all. Just myself, drummer and a guitar player (30w Marshall valvestate 1x12.) Possible that it was faulty I guess, but I dimed the thing and only received a fart. Unfit for purpose in that instance. Festival was sponsored by Orange that year and all.
  2. Disregard the unnecessary noodling and wordiness.
  3. I've had a look for one in the past, found nothing recently. There was a Japanese brand called 'Double Eagle' which, apparently, used to make quality replacement parts. Not sure if they got as far as the UK though.
  4. All of this. Minutemen - Double Nickels On The Dime. My task for the last year or so is to play this (somewhat perfectly) the whole way through. I've learnt everything by ear and I'm almost there. Spillage is huge. Thanks Watt.
  5. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  6. Haven't bought B-stock, but I've bought from Bax loads of times and they've always given first-rate service.
  7. Just when I was thinking about new strings for the Rickenbacker!
  8. Interested in this, where are you based?
  9. Certainly what I thought when I got this one.
  10. Also, pardon my ignorance, but what's with the wire just here? Haven't seen that on any Ric before!? 🤔
  11. Here's my pickup, might pop the hood tomorrow and have a look at what's going on inside. Hard to take a good picture but maybe not as wonky as @Delberthot.
  12. So the metaphors arrived at work today. Its bigger than I thought it would be (certainly bigger than the beloved sansamp) so it may not see any board time. I'll certainly give it a shot at home or recording though.
  13. Mines skewiff, I thought it was a feature like on a stratocaster 😂
  14. ^ sounds like classic Rickenbacker QC 😅 I tried 12 (new and used) before getting mine.
  15. Not loads of info on the distortion circuit https://www.ehx.com/products/bass-metaphors/instructions
  16. Good deal, just had a look on ebay and GAK have the same deal. Might get one just to thicken up the practice amp. Cheers.
  17. Sorry, amp sold some months ago, thought I had the thread marked as such. Thanks all.
  18. Shipping makes these expensive, but you've bought the Rick so you may as well go the whole hog. I love mine. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F262323944240 Welcome back to the club!
  19. Yeah, people seem to be moving away from the big (proper) valve jobs and on to class D stuff. I've owned both and I think class D is a bit sterile. I currently use a 300w Traynor. Best of luck with the sale anyway, hopefully somebody will pick this up soon.
  20. Superb price. Own something similar already but I'm really surprised this hasn't gone!
  21. Yeah, not the biggest fan of Thin Lizzy, but the tone on 'Live and Dangerous' is huge.
  22. Yeah, The Doors - Soul Kitchen. Ray Manzarek is probably one of my favourite (key) bass players! Fantastic.
  23. So the switch finally arrived today and its a perfect fit. Five minutes of installation (a small dab of glue holding it in place, not the insane amount of epoxy I had to cut away before) and the micro vr is good for another 6 years of daily service. Thanks all.
