    What's incredibly popular with new, young bands in my area are names that are just 'plural nouns.' Think Slaves, Earls, Arcades, Pines etc. Personal taste, but I'm strongly put off by names like these. Not very original in my opinion.

    I usually run about 8/9 pedals on my board including a sansamp which is always on. I took it apart last night so band practice was just bass and amp. It was...different. It was nice to go back to basics but ultimately I didn't like the lack of tone shaping ability. Felt like I was missing a limb.

Pedals have velcro on the bottom and come boxed with leaflets / paperwork unless otherwise stated. Darkglass vintage deluxe - the absolute dog's proverbials. Couple of tiny blemishes on the lower edge. £250. SOLD Darkglass b3k - minor surface scratches and a slightly gnarled drive knob from previous owner. No box. £115. SOLD Boss oc3 - pristine but only half a box (arrived like that) £50. SOLD EHX Bass clone - essentially brand new, used once and still with receipts etc. Sound not to my taste. £45.     Thanks, he was the next port of call after this evening. Some people think its probably loose piece of wood or service sticker that has came loose and lodged itself against a speaker. I guess I'll know more later this evening.

    Been using my barefaced six10 for the last year or so and it's been solid. The other night I noticed a high pitched farting / almost electronic distortion noise coming from the cab but only when I played F# / G. I was using plenty of drive that night but well within the limits of what the cab can take. I was beginning to chalk it up to a damaged speaker but thought it was strange that it only affected a couple of notes. Could this still be the case? At lower volumes this sound doesn't happen. I haven't had time to remove the grill and take a look but I was going to investigate this evening. Can anyone arm me with some information before I go and pop the hood? Cheers all.

    Began to use Japanese mustang basses almost exclusively: they're small and light and they're a real joy to play and throw about. I have large palms and shorter fingers and these basses fit just right. I use a Traynor Yba-300, it has 12 (count em, twelve!) EL-34 valves. When you get all that glass lit up you can't help but smile. Tone ain't bad either.

    I was unnecessarily riled up yesterday but thought through the situation logically and came out with a supportive decision. Normally I don't hold my tongue and tell it how it is, but I felt differently yesterday. This is what basschat is good for, I asked some "strangers", who may have been in a similar position in the past, their opinion and we all came out better for it when I could have caused an unnecessary rift between mates. I don't expect people to therapize me on here but it doesn't hurt to have a little perspective every now and again.
