1. Now sold, finally got round to updating everything, thanks all.
2. I have sent you a message Grégoire.
3. If this is still here in a few weeks I'd love it. Doubtful though.
4. Pristine 2013 Japanese reissue of the Fender Bass vi. This one has the pickguard and pickup condoms still on, even the bag containing the paperwork and trem arm hasn't been opened. The finish on this is a work of art. I know it's a cliché but the photos really don't do it justice. The action is nice and low, making it a joy to play. The floating bridge does suffer from a small amount of the typical rattle but Staytrem make a great replacement if you really feel the need. I really like the middle pickup on this, it's got a lovely, meaty grunt to it yet all the electronics work superbly. I wish I could justify keeping this, but needs must. Strung and setup with discontinued Fender 5350's. These had a 95 low E which addressed some of the floppiness common with the lighter string sets. These basses are pushing £1400+ now on sites such as Reverb and Ebay. I can't find another one for sale here in the UK. Apparently only 90 were ever sent to the USA, God knows how many made it over here. It is indeed a rare bird and was originally released in 1961 and was commercially available up to the early '70's. This is a rare opportunity to get a re-issued retro style Fender VI 6-string bass that has been made in Japan and which is depicted here in 3 Tone Sunburst. A faithful reissue but with additional reinforcement from a high purity titanium bar in the neck to address the weak point of the original model given the extra tension of the strings. Japanese Fenders, in this case made by Dyna Gakki factory, its high-end instruments that are actually intended for the Japanese market and not for export. This handmade guitars and basses are however highly sought after due to their combination of vintage design and excellent finish. Thus, it looks in the direction of the American Vintage series, while the build quality is equal to that of the professional American Standard models. The body has been made using Alder combined with an oval shaped Maple neck, the fretboard has inlaid dots for fret orientation. Sound comes courtesy of 3 x JG Vintage single coil pick-ups which are managed via a number of sliding switches mounted onto the scratchplate, these are made up of 3 x Pick-up On/Off switches plus a Low Cut switch which is used to diminish some of the low end tone on the pick-ups. There is also a Master Volume and Master tone rotary controller whilst the bridge is a floating tremolo bridge with individual saddles, the headstock is a 1970's style over-sized headstock with guitar style machine heads. There is no original case for it (allegedly cases weren't included) however I do have a heavy duty hardshell case that I will happily send it in. I am willing to ship, but please contact me regarding this. Collection also available. I'm also willing to meet part way (reasonable distances only.) I'm in Leicester. 5. Bought this on here about three years ago with the intent of getting a family member into playing a musical instrument. Let's just say it hasn't been touched in the last three years. I believe it was originally sold on here by Davy and in turn I bought it from highwayone. I believe this would make a great modding platform or a decent upgrade from a beginner's instrument. The good points: Lovely orange finish! (Was originally blue at some stage) (Incredibly loud) US Fender pickup and decent looking electronics Nice, straight and fat precision neck. Feels wide but shallow. Really lets you throttle the life out of it on those punk tunes. Stays in tune well Lots of life left in the frets Decently low action The not so good points: Strange dents in the pickguard (been there ever since I've had it) Two mismatched tuner screws (look like pickguard screws. They hold and there's no real risk of any wood splitting) Some buzz when not in contact with the bass, mainly due to the dilapidated wiring in my house and no shielding in the control cavity. Never have had the time to get around to addressing that. Some minor nicks and dents of which don't photograph well. That's about it really. I'm willing to ship (in a gigbag, inside a guitar box with packaging) for an extra £20. Alternatively you can collect (Leicester) or I'm willing to meet you half way if it's a reasonable distance. More pictures available at the link here. Any more questions please message me. Jonse.
6. Still available. More than happy to negotiate on price.
7. Location?
8. Weekly bump. Potential new bass on the horizon...
9. Post-holiday bump.
10. Cheers all, it's a great bass. I bought it initially to try a nice short scale but it wasn't meant to be!
11. Now sold. Thanks all.
12. Post edited. We're going metric.
13.
What colour is the original pickguard and why the change?
That would have been some useful info... It's a 3 ply black guard. One of the corners has snapped off at some point.
14. Up for grabs is my transparent crimson 1996 Fender Precision Special. A relatively rare (only made between '94 and '96 Mexican Precision with P/J pickups and a 9v active EQ, (stacked knobs with volume/blend and bass/treble.) Neck is somewhere between a P and J (measures at 41mm.) Apart from the new battery, I'm pretty sure it's all original. It's in great condition for a 20/21 year old bass with, from what I can see one small nick on the headstock and a small chip near the arm rest. I've tried to document the bass as best I can. The pickups sound great. They're incredibly loud and punchy and the active EQ gives you a great range of tones. It weighs 3.8kg and is really a breeze to play. Currently strung with Rotosound flats. Potential buyers are welcome to come round and give it a try, I will also deliver to the local Leicester area for free. I am also prepared to ship this bass but please do contact me regarding this so I can calculate shipping costs / dates. This usually costs around £25. I use Interparcel / UPS. Alternatively, I'm prepared to deliver at a rate of 40p/mile for petrol, (reasonable distances only.) Open to offers but no trades thanks. Thinning the herd again. You can find more pictures here. Thanks everyone, Chris.
15. Fender Musicmaster Bass made in 1977/78 (serial number S7 21431.) Lovely aged yellow finish with plenty of knocks (what 40 year old doesn't have a few scars?) Has the original wiring (6 pole pickup) which sounds decent and balances well at 3.2kg. Has a very low action which, combined with the light weight and short scale, makes this a joy to play. Currently strung with some short-scale round wounds. It's currently not sporting it's original pickguard however that it included in the sale as is a basic padded gig bag. Some spacing around the neck pocket where it has settled but nothing out of the ordinary. Done my best to try and document what damage that bass has sustained. I got this on eBay. Here's what the previous owner had to say about the bass: "The bass was overhauled this year by nationally renowned Wirral luthier KGB. All electronics attended to together with the neck and frets and given a clean bill of health. They fitted the new scratch plate with the original set of screws. The 'line' showing on the back is just in the paint and does not affect the body of this lovely old Fender." Potential buyers are welcome to come round and give it a try, I will also deliver to the local Leicester area for free. I am also prepared to ship this bass but please do contact me regarding this so I can calculate shipping costs / dates. This usually costs around £25. I use Interparcel / UPS. Greco EB-3

Thanks for the info! Maybe I'll flip those pups over at some point. And yes, this one was shipped over from Poland.

Greco EB-3

Bump for an old Japanese workhorse.
19. For sale is my Greco EB-3 that I bought last year some time and never really played. It's a bit beat up but it's mechanically sound, I guess you call that mojo. Doesn't have any serial numbers on it so dating is difficult but a bit of digging on the net suggests that it's pre 1975. All solid mahogany with no cracks, weighs in at around 8lbs. Short Scale makes working the neck a joy. Strung with a set of relatively fresh Rotosounds. Shipping I approximate would be about £20 to mainland UK or, pickup from LE2 Leicester. Send me a pm for any further info or questions / offers. More pictures can be seen at the link below. 20. Majority still available.
21. It's passive. No tone suck as far as I can tell. 250k pot.
22. Sorry to those of you that have expressed interest in this post and I haven't replied. Been ill for some time but I'm back in the game now. Majority of pedals are still available. Chris
23. Run a modified ce-2b into the effects loop on my sansamp deluxe. Sounds good to me.
24. Played there last week. Great venue!
25. I've got one of these, they're great. I looked into the wood on mine and I couldn't decipher whether it was alder or basswood. Mine is a two piece body also and has a grain somewhere between alder and basswood but it's rock hard, supposedly unlike basswood. ANYWAY, GLWTS
