  1. Apologies to the green party but surely it has to be LPB! Green should be reserved only for nature & tanks. How about one of those new trendy matte finishes?
  2. Raise the saddles a bit & see where you are. I wouldn't worry about anything shim related until I'd tried everything else.
  3. The J pickup poles on my BB350 are the same. I'm thinking of taking it apart to see if they're mounted in wax. That way I might be able to manipulate them to fit flush with the cover.
  4. Yeah it still is, or at least was with both of mine!
  5. I bought a Lakland from Guitar Guitar Birmingham online (risky I know) & it arrived really nicely set up but this could've been done by Lakland. When it arrived I was convinced they'd sent me the wrong thing as the box (& bass) was stupidly light 😁
  6. There was a member here who had a BBG5 with RBX humbucker's in it. I remember it looking quite sweet. Edit* George Byrne maybe?
  7. Me too Andy, I'm still astounded at the quality of Yamaha's 'budget' basses. I was considering refinishing it but I'm actually liking the honesty of the battle scars. I will completely re-do the neck at some point though. The fretboard could do with sanding down a bit & the frets are a bit flat for my liking but all in all its ninety quid well spent!
  8. Photos of the BB350 MoJo linked to on the previous page. It's full of dings & dents & it was so dirty it could have classified as a bio hazard (especially the frets & fretboard) but I've begun putting it right. Somehow the truss rod had come out of alignment with the nut being right up against the fretboard side of the hole. This pretty much rendered it useless so to remedy it I just took the nut off & added a washer to keep it central & the result is a nice straight neck & decent enough action. One of the tuners is a bit clunky & the pots need cleaning but I'll get to that tomorrow. Cheers to MoJo for the link!
  9. Looks good, I did my 425 with leather dye.
  10. Will do. From the pictures it definitely needs a good set-up, some new flats & a full decontam.
  11. I might have saved you some heartache. The photo's she sent show way too much relief so hopefully the truss rod works.
  12. Nice one Mojo, collecting tomorrow!
  13. I love this picture, it reminds me of one of those scenes you might see in an American drama where the murder already happened & the perp is about to dismember the body to dispose of the evidence!
  14. Yeah it did, bit fiddly putting it back together tho.
  15. Look at this Yamaha Bass everyone! Oh wait I'm in the wrong thread 🤦
  16. I bought several meters of 2x4mm cable & plugs from that well known German shop & made my own. Bombproof & just as robust as my OBBM ones.
  17. Not sure if it's of any use but I have a non musicman 4H in Matte Black you could butcher if you want it. Suppose it depends if the bridge pickup is in the same position 🤔
  18. Both of mine (black & white) are original musicman ones, not at all cheap but a perfect fit & they're not thin either which I like. Edited for crap spelling 🤦
  19. I have both, stuck some big singles in the 01 & it's ridiculous, like a jazz on acid. But it's not light. My 02 is completely standard & my main gig squeeze, also the lightest bass I've ever played.
  20. Single ply Matte Black would look ace! 😉
  21. Yep, matte black or matte white depending on the mood! Still a lovely bass mate!
  22. Playing mine a lot lately & it's been a while since I posted a picture. 09 three band with a high gloss tint neck & wearing white trimmings!
