My problem is presenting my best side to the camera - Concorde-style nose, receding chin, gappy teeth, or balding pate?

I presume it's your strap-hanging shoulder (for want of a better phrase)? If I get pain in it, it's from over-tensing my fretting hand or arm. Playing with a lighter action, and consequently a lighter touch, can help a lot, as can relaxing while you play. Just don't fall asleep.

[/quote] The mid control on the Demeter is passive, i.e. cut only. I generally run it at 3 o'clock, which should equate to a slight cut but sounds right to me. I expect it has a lot to do with what the treble and bass controls are getting up to at the same time.

I remember turning up the volume on the TV in the late 70s in a vain attempt to produce anything approaching loudness when OGWT was on. All I got was background hiss. They seriously screwed with the sound before broadcasting it.

OK I measured by 5-string MFD at 106.2mm x 42.3mm. String spacing between pole-pieces is about 16.5mm, and if it's the same on the 4-string that would give you 89.7mm for the larger dimension. Obviously you would have to allow some clearance in your rout. Hope this helps. Graeme

I think the stamp TRANS refers to the finish, i.e. transparent so that the grain is visible, rather than a solid colour.

I have a '73 Precision that I love, but I am also GASing over a '63 that's up for sale. The asking price is more than twice what I paid for the '73 - can it really be worth it? Although it's a question only I can answer when I have both in front of me, what does the BC Massive think?
