1. Edward bought a book/CD from me. Great communication, instant payment no fuss = smooth deal. Thanks very much.
2. I'm on a Motu 828mk2 from 2004 I believe. Latest OS from Apple. The electronics will wear out (capacitors) before they stop producing drivers for it.
3.
You make these assumptions/conclusions standing in your shoes. Not everyone is as switched on and aware of the cr4p that people will pull, not everyone is confrontational, not everyone uses digital media or knows the way to use a forum as soon as they sign in! I work with people who need support to deal with 'life' and from them through to you there is a whole spectrum of needs and abilities. If being too trusting is the worst thing the OP can be accused of then that's not a bad thing. What's the worst thing we can say of the tw4t who scammed the bass? Stand back and imagine it ISN'T you (as most of us are doing) and think of other persons that could have been screwed; your father/mother, nephew/niece etc. can you think of a family member who is just a little too easy to have over?
The OP quite clearly said he's an antique dealer. I'm sure he can spot a rogue when one comes along.
4. I opened my bookshelf to discover that I had a second, brand new unread copy of this excellent text that I must have ordered by accident. Kenny is a jazz pianist - but this is equally applicable to any instrument. Good motivational text that helped get me out of a rut. Comes complete with the CD £10 and a couple of quid for shipping and it can be yours.
5.
What a strange post, is it just me or does anyone else think that no matter if the op was too trusting or not, you don't just put a £1500 bass loss 'down to experience'. Can't quite get my head round you appearing to warn the op off? Very strange.
It's not strange. As someone who has had their fair share of misfortunes in the past including being royally screwed over by a member here, it never pays to dwell on things. Let go, move on, learn from the experience. I'm guessing the OP has come here as a last resort, having already tried to contact the accused, and contacted the police (who were probably very disinterested). I'm not a gambling man, but I'd have a few quid on the bass and the cash has long vanished. Before you ask or put 2+2 together, I'm not affiliated with the accused or known to him.
6. If it were a thirty pound effect pedal - id say yes, post on trust. But a £1500 bass - who in their right mind would post this off to an absolute stranger off facebook without being paid in cleared funds first.
7. I've seen this on facebook in multiple groups/pages. Personally I'd be careful with the accusations. It's one thing to name and shame someone, but another to set up facebook groups/pages to hound the accused. I think this could turn round and bite you in the backside if you're not careful. Not condoning whats happened here, just be pragmatic and chalk it up to experience....
8. I used to have a Japanese Marcus Miller - it was ok, but I chopped it for a US 75 RI Jazz - now that's smoking! For me it's perfect in everyway.
9. As the title says, virtually unused Fender Rumble 15 v2 Combo. Don't have a means to pack/courier, so cash on collection only from Northampton NN3.
10. Weekend bump, try me with a sensible offer.
11. Bought my Sonnus B2M - swift and smooth deal with a friendly guy. Instant payment - deal with confidence. Thanks Bert.
12. It's not that much of a bargain - there's one in the marketplace for £99
13. I wouldn't say £225 for a 4x10 is much of a bargain for something that will give you a hernia.
14. Location? How about a picture or two?
15. Yep, it's a physical buzz. Don't notice it when its cranked up, but when it's silent there's a definite vibration.
16. It's not so much of an electrical buzz, more of a buzz through the chasis
17. Aquired this a couple of days ago, and have just set this up. Globs of heavy ampeg tone from a little 1u Rack. There is so much variation available from this thing. Buzzes a bit though. I have it set up as a front end for my MOTU 8pre via ADAT into a MOTU 828mk2. Proper bass sound!
