  1. I don't normally like SR5's but this looks very special and very well priced. Wish I had the space for it. GLWTS.
  2. Yes absolutely correct. I have a similar setup with a MOTU 828mk2 and an 8pre into my mac. Much more convenient than a hardware mixer.
  3. Buy my Fender Marcus Miller That will sort it!
  4. If it's any consolation think of it as I have just saved your back from all that pain The neck is really comfortable. I have an older Fender Marcus Miller JB - which is very similar, but the 75 feels a bit slimmer to my hands. I have a 2008 American Standard too - which is probably my favourite feeling neck. But I just love the look of a blocked neck on a jazz and the whole 70's Jazz Bass vibe.
  5. It's weighty (almost 11lbs) but like you say the neck is to die for. I haven't played an actual 75' Jazz but I don't think it could get better than this.
  6. I was browsing Classic and Cool after seeing another NBD thread on here, and stumbled across this http://classicandcoolguitars.co.uk/portfolio/usa-fender-jazz-1975-re-issue-bass-in-natural/ Arrived this afternoon after a very swift deal. Brilliant service from Mark at Classic & Cool, and it's a true player - growls like a tiger!
  7. Bump for payday. May trade for USA precision.
  8. I'm moving on my Fender Marcus Miller Japan 4 string in Natural Finish. I have been the custodian of this fine bass for about 3 years in which time it hasn't seen any action outside the house. I am guessing it's one of the earlier ones (serial available on request if you'd like to try and check). The pu cover is missing (the piece of chrome, not the plastic on the pu), but everything else is functioning as it should. I've priced this to sell a lot lower than others currently available. Would prefer collection from Northampton NN3 (test drives welcome) - but can ship at buyers cost & there is a brand new Hiscox case available for an extra £25 if you want to take this option. Excuse the poor quality pics - drop me a pm if you want any others.
  9. Lovely looking bass. Wish I had the space for another Jazz.
  10. Is this one active or passive?
  11. I would imagine that (extensive) damage would cost quite a bit to put right - the damage to the neck I would guess is quite noticeable when playing. Have you had a quote to put it right?
  12. In your third picture (which is a little out of focus or is it my eyesight?), is that 'fluff' from the case near the first fret or is it something more sinister?
  13. I think 50% discount is about right as a rule of thumb on used gear - unless its vintage or rocking horse poo. I definitely think the inflated prices we've seen in the past 5 years or so are definitely behind us. I've used this formula for many years and has always served me well when it comes to buying and selling. A couple of pieces I've paid slightly more on (but I know I wont sell them on). Karl - my jazz was £580 which I thought was very fair
  14. Trades? with cash your way?
  15. Is the finish original or has this been stripped?
  16. I would have this if it was a '71. Lovely. Like the cat
  17. I love the colour, I wish I had the cash - have a free bump
  18. Thats a great price for a cracking bass. Why on earth would anybody buy one of those inferior subs when you can have this for less than £600 notes!
  19. I bought a bass off the classifieds here and the truss rod was well and truly shagged. I think the seller knew about it but never said anything (he was moving the bass on a few weeks after buying it). That and the fact it was strung with dental floss - I should have seen it coming. Once bitten twice shy. I will always check in the future.
  20. Inherit the Wind was the soundtrack for my summer when I was 12. A great loss. Didn't realise he was a bass player too.
  21. Nice looking bass - does it have 60's or 70's pu spacing?
