1. I couldn't find a biography book on ebay, which is a shame as I'm sure it would make a great read. Im reading a mag/book from smiths at the moment called 100 drum heroes which is very good.
2. I had a copy of guitar and bass magazine (I think that was it) around 2003 and it had a free dvd one of the tracks was him and band playing one of his hits live and he had a bass with blue l e d fretmarkers. i think he was playing lessons of love will have to see if i can find it on youtoob
3. he is a superb player and has written some classic songs even though it's not really my bag I enjoy seeing him play he is amazingly proficient, I think I have heard him interviewed on the radio a time or two by james whale, he is one of the people who would first come to mind if asked to pick a famous bass player, and like you say he can sing at the same time too. does he have a bigraphy published i am betting it woul be a great read?
4.
Well, that was better.. Managed five songs straight through without undue concern. Apparently my bass sounded "Awesome". I was asked to turn down by the drummer, Ha!. Spent the remainder of the session trying to pick up songs by watching the guitarists, with some success. It was easier when we were all attempting to play a new song from scratch. So, I am very happy.
dude sounds like you're really flyin along now...enjoy...best wishes...paul
5. Thanks for keeping us updated Im guessing the 'forgetting where the notes are' problem will settle down once you get used to the new situation in which you find yourself It can be strange meeting a new bunch of people let alone playing a new list of songs with them, i'm sure you will get better with each session. keep us updated and best of luck on wednesday

8. I have an Ashdown tourbus 10 just for practising in my apartment, seems to do an ok job you dont need to pay too much for a practice amp as I guess you can then put money towards a big amp for jamming with others when you need it. iy has an input for an mp3 player too which is useful for practise
9. hey man, welcome to the forum, it's a great community Im in a similar situation to you , Im hopin to find some folks to jam with when I have a good collection of songs and get a amp to keep up with guitars and drums, got awful shoulder blade ache at the moment, sure its tension when Im learning tricky bits or having topick fast. hope you enjoy it here anyway cheers...paul

I like that program havent got tv reception at the moment tho as I watch most stuff downloaded off the net (game of thrones, chuck, burn notice, etc) will have to get a freeview box soon. 20. My favourite rock n roll Bio Is about a drummer it's Steven Adlers My appetite for destruction. read about 5 times my other faves are Stone alone by Bill wyman, which I have probably read more times than the steve adler one, ronnie woods - ronnie david lee roths crazy from the heat, keith richards Life, both the eagles books, slash mustaine, dave mustaine megadeth. Brian wilsons book , wouldnt it be nice is un-put- downable too and I enjoyed Sting by wensley clarkson, also how black was our sabbath, I have read a couple of good deep purple ones too. I haven't read a jaco one yet so may look for one on ebay if anyone recommends it, I heard a documentary of him on youtube and it was good, I especially enjoy hearing about the musicians when they were kids and how they practised formed their first bands and hook up with the other members basically the rags to riches story is always a good one. I have two new books on the way tattoos and tequila I think its called by vince neil and that book about paul di anno who was iron maidens first vocalist. I have two guitar world books of various collected interviews of eddie van halen who is anoother fave of mine
