1.
Interested in a trade with a Tecamp BadBull 900 with flight case ? Amp is as new condition and in full warranty . I do live in Paris
Sorry, I'd have to hear the amp 1st as I'm not familiar with them and youre just a little to far away to pop round and try. I'm really swaying away from class D amps but the specs look very good on yours with valve pre etc Thanks for the offer Dave
  2.
Scale? Any picture of the jack input and one of the fretlines? I hope it makes sense Thanks
It's 34" scale and here are photos as requested Fretlines - You can just see fretlines from the front Jack socket recesed
  3. Thanks for all the kind comments, it sounds even better than it looks In response to questions above and PM's recieved I've missed out some vital info in original posting so here goes It's 8lb 2oz, not super super light due to the ovangkol body, even though its really heavily chambered the centre block from neck to bridge is still solid. I'm kinda obsessed about keeping stiffness from neck to bridge from a design point of view. String spacing 17mm at the bridge and 9mm at the nut There are no straplock fitted but I will fit some if required before it goes. I've never even taken it to a gig so never needed them yet. It comes in a real crappy old hard case just for transport really. If no quality case is a deal breaker I'll buy a nice case for it. I do travel all over for work so I can most probably deliver in person as I'd rather do that if possible but can post if really necessary. Your wife will LOVE it, its beautiful bass, who couldnt love it (even though it is a single cut ha ha) she'll want you to hang it on the wall over the TV and only complain when you take it down to play it !!! It's not like it has ugly pickups and knobs etc spoiling the looks.......... Trades - really only as above, not looking for any more basses as I have a perfect (for me) gigging bass and a wonderful double bass Thanks for all the interest so far Dave
  4. Firecreek Custom Telecaster Has seen a fair amount of home use but in great condition Thick flame maple top, one piece ash body, flame hard rock maple neck Dual action trussrod, Fender USA pickups, vintage style tuners and bridge Vintage gloss nitro cellulose finish on neck, clear high gloss nitro cellulose finish on body. Very comfortable mild C neck profile, medium wide dunlop frets This is plays amazingly well and sounds just like it should, any trail welcome Rather have cash but would consider trades for a cheaper guitar with trem + cash Thanks Dave
  5. For Sale or possible trade (trade list below) Firecreek hollow body 5 string fretless bass It’s used but in very good condition, I built this specifically for an acoustic project but ended up getting a double bass and now play that instead. The playability is amazing, it’s just so tactile. For a piezo only setup it actually has a very wide range of tones, from quite bright and punchy if played near the bridge to downright pure silky smooth loveliness if played up by the fretboard 34" scale length 17mm spacing at bridge 9mm spacing at nut Set neck design Side markers and dots on top edge of fretboard AAAAA Myrtle burl-flame top Ovangkol body, hollowed out but leaving central block from neck to bridge solid for strength & stability Ovangkol fretboard Rock maple and Wenge laminated neck Matching myrtle headstock veneer Spirit finish neck so it’s protected but feels as natural as posible Piezo under saddle wired directly to socket Graphtec saddle and nut Rosewood Bridge La bella nylon tapewound strings Very thin nitro cellulose high gloss finish Included Fishman ProEQ II external preamp boxed with instructions – these are far superior to having an on-board preamp and more tonal variation available, the preamp of choice for double bass. Any Trail welcome and certainly recommended Possible trade for big heavy powerful amps eg Mesa or all valve heads +cash Let me know if you would like any more photos or information Thanks Dave

  7.
What's your colour? RGB is an additive colour model whereas paint is a subtractive one, so not all RBG colours can be matched. On top of that RGB is not an absolute, but is device dependant which means that without colour management software the same RGB values will appear different on different output devices (monitors etc.) Also be careful if you go to Halfords or some other non-specialist paint retailer as they don't always get you an exact match but simply the one that is closest to what they they already have.
Its RGB170,133,132 It was spec'd by a graphic designer (I'm sure I'll be corrected on that as he's a member on here) who deals with specific colours etc daily and works on calibrated screens / printers etc, so I'm confident the RGB code is correct, I have a calibrated printout of the colour and think i've found someone who might help from that printout. I've emailed about 10 places that specialize in custom paint mixing that I found on google now and only 1 has replied - and they didnt even know what RBG was
have you tried Manchester Guitar Tech? he can mix nitrocellulose to order but i think there's a minimum order size for custom colours http://www.manchesterguitartech.co.uk/ matt
Not wanting to diss them, but i have ordered 2 lots of oly white from them each pot 1 week apart and the colour was not even remotely close. The paint was good quality and if I had ordered enough in the 1st place it wouldnt have been a problem.
  8. Didn't even think about Halfords! I'll have to go and talk to them Thank Dave
  9. Hi – does anyone know where I can get paint mixed to an RGB colour code, there is no RAL close to what I’m after?? I’m struggling to find anyone despite contacting a load of paint suppliers found on google. Ideally in cellulose for ease of spraying but would consider other formats Thanks Dave

WOW - that^ is lovely. Great colour matching of the woods makes it look very classy. Never heard of blackmachine before but just been to their website and very impressed, but yours is the nicest one they have done!
^ Nice! Redwood top? The very wide flame seems to suggest that.
Sure is, and according to the certificate of source for it it's bloody old bit of wood "This old growth Redwood tonewood was salvaged from trees cut over a century ago in the N. California coastal forests. These were the legendary 1500 to 2000+ year old giants that grew to 20’ diameter and over 400’ tall. The stumps from these trees, and the occasional trunk section left in the forest, stayed perfectly preserved over the past century and the wood is of distinctly high quality"
..not sure which Tele model I fancy yet, but I feel like despite my old one being immaculate and great to play, I fancy a change,
http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/6540/fs-ft-firecreek-custom-telecaster-600#latest Nice tele.....
  14. I got a compressor from Stephen, very easy quick transaction. Pedal was well packed and sent quickly. Very happy Nugget
  15.
Daf is great.
Yes, I should have just written that rather than rabbiting on.
  16. I couldn’t decide if this should go in the Innovation sub folder but that seems more about the trial sets so I thought I’d pop it in here so more might see it. 1[sup]st[/sup] off I’m a bit of a DB novice but play loads and already playing in a rock n roll / rockabilly band and a jazzy acoustic 3 piece. I don’t have much experience with DB strings but wanted to share my thoughts… When I got my bass (carved top ply body) it came with Helicore strings can the sound to me was nothing like I was after, far too bright and not enough soul so I read all I could and listened to what I could find and plumped for a set of Innovation rockabilly. When I fitted them the tone was pretty much exactly what I had in my head, lovely tone, great warm presence and not bright like the helicores. BUT the G was noticeably stiffer than D&A and the E was sounding pretty dead especially around the A note and tension was slacker than D&A, I know different DB’s do react differently to strings so I know this is just down to my bass and not the quality of the strings. I emailed Daf at innovation and I just gotta say he was amazing! He sent out (at no charge, but to be returned at some point) a slap G and a replacement E to try. The slap G suited my bass much better and the tension was perfect match for the D&A but the E was just the same, so it wasn’t a duff string. I emailed Daf again thanking him for the G but still having problems with E, Daf suggested that the problem was probably the soundpost causing ghost notes on the E but he sent me out an ultra black E to try, again at no charge, to try and match tension. This setup now has totally perfect balanced tension and the tone is crazy good, What 100% amazing customer service from Daf Being a bit of a DB novice I was concerned about the problems being me rather than the strings, but with thanks to Daf’s help I’m so happy and playing even more! The nicest and most helpful person I’ve met for a long time. Nugget
  17. I did that on my SWR Studio 220, it's amazing Love the amp now

  20. Could you add me to the list also, no rush!! fairly new to DB and the whole string thing is messing with my head! From what I've read Honeys sound like the ones I want but this is awesome to be able to try before you buy Dave
  21.
Get the company to offer a splitter van as a company car option.
Well...... they just changed us from lovely posh vito vans to crappy insignia estates, ohh how my boss liked my incessant whinging when I found out
  22. I guess this is gonna be the most stupid question in the history of BC, I’m cringing even typing it!! So I’ve got a estate which is backed to the brim with PA gear (wife sings) and hardly any room for the bass gear. Now she want to also do a rock n roll band with a DB and will not even think about EUB, so how the heck do I get that in the car as well?? Is there any good WATERPROOF hardcases/ flightcases that could be attached to a roof rack, that don’t cost as much as a cheap old van???? I don’t wanna buy a van as the car is company car with free fuel etc and can’t afford to get another vehicle and pay insurance tax etc etc etc unless I have too. Did think about shoving the PA in a trailer but that's a pain in the arse to park as some venues are in city centres with crap parking
  23. mighty fine wood LEDs looking good, very tidy job with them
  24. I'm no expert on cabs so this might be a load of crap...... I had a genz cab blow the bulb, contacted Genz to se why there was a light bulb in the cab and hey said they do blow if you get a spike in high freq eg unplugging cable from bass with amp on Whip it out and go down Halfords in the car bulb section
