2. Can you give the depth measurements please.
3. Wow, what a beautiful bass. Good luck with the sale someone is going to get a very special bass.
4.
Can you give me a bit more info on the Redeemer circuit dude?... Eude
Here you go..... http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...s_Redeemer.html It really does give a passive bass lift.
5. Now this could be utter bull, but from my limited experience of swapping out speaker Celestions have a rough rock type sound and Eminence have a cleaner slightly brighter sound. (possibly)
6. Very nice, love the grain in the wood.
7.
Ooh, can I be block from Off Topic too? It's the one area of Basschat I can't abide. Seriously, if I wasn't able to see it I'd be hugely grateful
me too.
8. Had a fiddle while the royal wedding was on and replaced the large green .1uf cap with a smaller one. This gives a little more top end and sounds better when playing with other instruments.... the green cap was very dark sounding.
9. About 3 years ago I had a beaten up old P Bass with Bart pickups and rewired with a .1uf cap and redeemer, this was sold and replaced with a Jazz 5. I got the Gallery to put on a fretless Ebony board and I rewired it with the same redeemer and old paper in oil .1uf cap and put in Baseline vintage jazz pickups. I loved the sound of this bass and I always regretted selling it. I now need ( want ) a 6 string fretless with that dark sound. The Sue Ryder threads got me thinking of a P bass..... but must have 6 strings. So with a little research I have ordered this from Jon Shuker...... Will take 6 months to build style_emoticons/default/angry.gif but will be my dream fretless, dark, moody and very very warm. 6 string fretless P bass spec..... 34" scale 21 fret 57mm nut width 20.5mm neck depth at first fret 22.5mm at 12th 18mm string spacing 3 piece laminated maple neck with black veneers (0.5mm) between joints Ebony fretless board, with strips / light markings if possible. Side fret lines with 2mm white dots in the usual position! (The fret line is a 0.5mm line up the top edge of the board and extending about 5mm onto the surface). 2mm dots on the fret position between the 12th and 21th fret. Two way truss rod Carbon fibre reinforcement Black graphite nut 4+2 headstock Black headstock face Schaller lightweight tuners, black Mahogany body Polyester base coat Black gloss lacquer b/w/b scratch plate 6 string P bass pickup (custom wound, 20% over wind to increase warmth and thicken things up a bit!) Passive vol. / tone Redeemer circuit run on 18 volts .1uf vintage paper in oil cap. ABM bridge, black Strung with D'Addario Chromes Internal Dunlop strap locks, black
10. Try replacing all four with these celestion sets from Watford valves.... http://www.watfordvalves.com/products.asp?id=4&man=171 Hope this helps.
11. I have now tried the phase and fuzz both ways and can say for me it's...... Bass, fuzz, phaser then amp.
12. Hi Guys, I though I would share my thoughts on a new toy the Fredric Effects Scrambled Brainz. http://www.fredric.co.uk/effects/scrambled...scrambler-clone I have been looking for the past 12 months for a sound that is in my head ( no, I'm not going mad ). I play in a chilled female vocal acoustic band in the Sundays / Cranberries mould. The bass sound is very important as there is no competing sound as we play only occasionally with a drummer. I looked for years for a Chorus that would be my sound but I discovered only in the last few weeks the sound I had in my head came from a simple two stage PHASER the MXR 45 or DOD 201. Next I needed to add a little and I mean a LITTLE fuzz or overdrive. All pedals I tried simply distorted the signal to hell and back, that was fine in a full on rock / blues setting but not in my subtle and chilled band. I thought a fuzz with BLEND control would be the best thing, so I started to look around and came across the Scrambled Brainz a copy of the Ampeg Scrambler. Most fuzz pedals simply lose to much of the bass frequencies that I feel there are unusable. This Scrambled Brainz has no loss of bass when the Texture ( left knob ) is in the 7 o'clock or fully counter clock wise position. As it is turned the bass frequencies start to roll off but the mid and top start to create this very harmonically rich soaring fuzz that is simply mad. Now blend the fuzz with your dry bass sound using the right hand knob and you can create a subtle back ground fuzz to a full on harmonic overdrive that sustains for days and sound great with chords. Now, for my tastes this sound is still to rich and fuzzy so I simply wired a cap across the blend control. When the blend is in the 5 o'clock or fully clock wise the fuzz TONE is just like the original sound. As the knob is turned to blend in more or the dry bass sound the fuzz will start to lose most of the top end thus creating a more subtle fuzz with a warm top end. My sound has suddenly appeared. A subtle warm fuzz over the clean bass sound with a little gentle phase........Heaven. I can really recommend this pedal from Fredric Effects. The build quality is fantastic and is worth the asking price.
13. Unfortunately it is very slow for sellers at the moment. I would love the cab but you are to far away. Good luck with the sale

If you are talking about the little bastard in your signature, just undo the 4 bolts from the side and loosen the 4 bolts on the handle and the whole amp will slide out of the case. I found the little bastard has to much gain on the input and will distort with most basses. If you want to clean the sound swap out the two ECC83 valves for ECC81's. ECC83 or 12ax7 have a gain of 100 ECC81 or 12at7 have a gain of 70 ECC82 or 12au7 have a gain of 20 http://thetubestore.com/gainfactor.html hope this helps.
15. I had a rehearsal a few days ago and my SWR headlite clicked all night at a local studio. So at the end of the rehearsal I started switching off the lights and suddenly the click vanished.....only problem, I was in total darkness. Might make me play better. LOL I think its a problem with switch mode power supplies on digital amps................... picks up crap from lighting and poor mains.
16.
My word no wonder the Squier CV P sells so well. What a lovely example!
Amazing bass for the money.
17. I've had a few Sandbergs in my time and praise them very highly. This is a very good bass.... Bump.
18. Bump for a sale..........only two left.
19.
Hmm. the low frequency rolls off a tad higher than on the Delta, wonder if this would be better to stop the cab sounding wooly
The deltalite has a punchy deep sound, it curtainly does not sound wooly.
20.
must be heavier than a Neutron Star.
Heavy weight and heavy sound...man. Real old school.
21. What a great find...... A real classic amp. Well done.
22. I have for sale a new boxed Eminence 2515 15" bass driver. http://www.eminence.com/speakers/speaker-d...eltaliteII_2515 £65 posted or collected from Sandhurst or Maidenhead. Thanks.
23.
Now opened up for straight sale. £70 delivered to mainland UK or £63 collected. I would also consider a trade for a mint Eminence Delta 15 with cash my way due to the price difference new but would prefer a straight sale so I can buy a new one as I am a bit OCD when it comes to amps and cabs
I have a deltalite 15................... Is this any good.
24.
If I recall correctly when I installed my John East pre-amp which has the passive tone control you're referring to, the pickups wire directly into the passive tone control, which then in turn feeds into the pre-amp (not sure if there is a complication here with balance controls and the order of the pots?). I would imagine that the same principle applies? So would look something like this (where passive control and balance might have to be switched): Pickups > passive tone control >< balance > active controls > output?
Think you are right. I dont want to add another pot to the bass........ just dont know how to add it to the active system. Think I might just give up and buy another bass...............
