1. Thanks.... I've just bought revisited so will play it right now.
2.
Thanks all for your replies, we`re getting somewhere now! Voxpop, the crucial question is, did it improve your sound? Alex, if I understand correctly you are saying a filter wouldn`t just passively prevent frequencies above the roll off point getting to the driver, but would distort the response of the remaining frequencies the cab produces unpredictably? Hmmm. I will look into the high pass alternative also. MM
Yes it dd improve the sound. It sounded like a 2x10 with a sub.... Punch with deep bass.
3. I did a similar thing with a trace rig some years ago. I had a 2x10 with a 15 and wanted the 15 to just handle the very lowest frequencies. I put in a hand made induction coil from Wilmslow audio with a cut off of 100hz. Only frequencies below 100hz get into the cab. Simply wire it in-line inside the cab. Cost was about £50 if I can remember...... I made a small box and put the inductor into the cab and filled it with silicon to stop it moving and to deaden down any vibrations.... you can still see some of the silicon stuck to the coil. Hope this helps.
4. Nice... Big and heavy. Just like my woman!!!!!!
5. Can we have size as well please. Thanks.
6. I think must of us are scared at first of such a stange bass but after a little time and effort it really pays off. I prefer playing the fretless now and use it exclusively in my band. It can add a real different sound and feel compared to the usual suspects.
7. Checked manual on line, and the fan can be turned on and off. Good call laney.
8. Did a trade with Tom and he is a true gentleman, could not of asked for a better transaction.
9. Sorry to push the question... I need to know as I don't want an amp that has a fan running all the time as the noise drives me made at low rehearsal volumes. Thanks.
10. Does this have a fan that it ON all the time? Thanks.
11.
Might be a daft question and probably covered elsewhere, but why did Plan B's bassist have the logo of his bass taped over, was he otherwise in breach of an endorsement deal or something?
I thought the same..... what was going on there????
12.
Having gone the DIY route for many years I now believe that making your own leads is only worthwhile if: 1. You are already an experienced solderer, or have the time and patience to learn how to be one. 2. You have lots of free time that wouldn't be better spent doing something else. 3. You are going to be making up a large quantity of leads, or you need some highly specialised ones. 4. You are looking to save every penny that you can. Otherwise get OBBM to make them for you. You'll get high quality cables which will most likely be made better than you can do yourself and only slightly more than the cost of the materials in the quantities you'll be buying.
+1 for OBBM cables.

16.
A friend of mine built couple LA2As and 1176 for his studio here in Helsinki... super silly money, but if one can afford it, they're worth it IMO. Super natural and awesome! Nobody has recommended the Demeter Compulator... one of the most transparent out there!
The Demeter is fantasic..... I have one for sale on eBay. Sorry for the plug.
17. Any chance of seeing those scratches.
18. Looks like a V125b head. I had one only a few months ago. It a fantasic head using four EL34 valves giving 125 watts of nice warm valve sound. You can pick them up or around £300 - £400. Only draw back is the crap eq, so use an active bass with good eq or buy a pedal.
19. Give your digital amp an upgrade to one of these great ECC83 / 12AX7 valves. All amps come with crap new type valve / tubes that sound rubbish compared with valves made in the past. I have a small selection of valves that would be an ideal replacement to modern valves. I have tested these and will offer a refund / return, excluding postage if you really dont like the improvement.
