4.
SWR wasn't even on my radar 'till now - thanks for that and I see Bassdirect stock them as well.
Give the SWR a try, it has a mid scooped sound compared to the Shuttle but I really like the valve sound from it.... much better than the Shuttle. IMHO
 5. Thanks for the review.... I have never tried a Ric, might take a trip out to give one ago. Thanks again for fuelling my GAS.
 6.
Haha, yeah isn't it? thats exactly what i was going to write, i just didn't know if anyone would understand what i meant... sounds wicked.
Moog with valve overdrive will do it.... Real heavy.
 7. Good god.... I have just listened to that jet phaser, that's heavy. The Dod does not sound like that monster....... Much much more mellow.
 8. I am very happy to recommend the SWR headlite. 400watts of tight , slightly mid scooped sound with a valve pre. I like it very much........ Nice.
 9. I was a student and went to the library and took out a handful of jazz CD,s. I heard stan Getz for the first time and this started me on my Jazz journey. NICE......
 10. I really like this Warwick. Never liked their shape until now, looks like a winner. Think its a good move as I can imagine fender didn't sell many steve Bailey basses.
 11.
Going to revive this thread after seeing the post about someone's Fender being damaged on the way to Musikmesse and knowing that I have to fly over to Holland soon with my bass. Is an ABS case enough to protect it? I might put some bubble wrap or something in too just to make sure, or should I invest in a proper flight case?
I flew to Italy with a Spector bass in the hold. I wrapped the neck and body in bubble wrap and put it in a hard case and then wrapped the case in bubble wrap and covered it with 'fragile' tape. As soon as it came off the plane I unwrapped it to give it a check over before leaving the airport. It arrived and returned without a scratch. It can be risky but you just have to be careful. Hope this helps.
 12.
I fitted these (paper/oil 47s) this afternoon in my thinline passive jazz and they REALLY make a difference. 1st tried it through a practice amp where I couldnt hear a change by fired up my SWR and the difference is very noticable - rolling off the tone the sound is certainly more warm by more defined useable warmth, if that makes any sense - I find it hard to explain tones. Cheapest way to make your bass sound sweeter Thanks Nick
I agree. I tried the green one in an my fender jazz and it really made a big difference over the 'standard' caps. Have a bump on me.

 15.
Wow! Thanks for that nonsense about a brand that is charging over the odds for something of poor quality... Now where's the bread for that SPAM sandwich...?
16. Crazy.........
 17. WOW.... that is outrageous. I love it....................... well done on an amazing transformation.
 18.
I use www.stringbusters.com Good service, never had a problem and always have what I am looking for. I'm a man who prefers to shop locally keeping small firms open, but they stock strings that I don't like. Did ask if they could bring stock in but they order by bulk, so they get the most 'popular'. It's a shame, but the internet prevails over local shops! Luke
=1 for string busters.
 19. I have for sale a Line6 studio 110 amp it is only a few months old and I bought it from new. http://line6.com/lowdownstudio110/ Thanks.
