Spector coda 4 string in excellent condition. No issues. I can post to UK for an extra £10 Theres two things on the marketplace here that I am Gassing for and I may or may not keep this if they sell, only time will tell. Lovely slim neck and plenty of power from the pups, and I’m informed that it’s a slap monster by my eldest son as he passed his grade 8 bass on this very instrument.

Am I the only one thinking that DG have just pushed the price too far for mere mortals? I have a harmonic booster, a B3k and the element which are simply perfect for my needs into an Orange terror 500: and I went straight onto bass direct to click buy to add this to the arsenal..........- But - eh....... im sorry Mr. Darkglass, as much as I love the gear, in the covid times we are living in £469 (yes 469 quid) is just getting too close to the £500 point. For me - this is the wrong time to be slapping a nearly 500 quid price tag on a pedal.and dropping it into a pre Christmas market of bass gear-aholics who will wham it on a credit card which is already bursting at the seams if it’s anything like mine. Sorry for what may be a bit of a gripe but had to share....

This is really subjective. Cliff Williams, not adventurous at all and I get bored playing his bass lines. Would I see that bigger picture, play his bass lines and perform where and when AC/DC have played for over 40 years. Oh yes I would.

Thanks Japanaxe. Instinctively I thought that was the case, but didn’t wanna wreck the head.

I’m the owner of an Orange 500 terror bass head and I understand the standby for 2 mins while turning it on, but do you need to leave it at standby when turning it off? Maybe sounds like a total newby question but all the online content talks about everything to do with Standby on power up and nothing about Standby on power down cheers

Sold an ACG custom build 5 string J bass about 3 months after it arrived due to needing to raise cash to repair part of my garden boundary wall that was dangerous to leave as it was. I put all of my thought into the bass and it was delicious but now there’s a fellow BC’er in Scotland owns it now. That ACG and a peach of a Steve Harris Spec. blue sparkle P bass, that to this day makes me wonder what I was thinking when I sold them. If I could turn back time I’d sit on both of these.

I really fail to see the point of this. I’d be totally lost on it. 4 or 5 strings and maybe 6 at a stretch is all I can deal with. Am I alone in this ?

Bridges : badasses, kickasses and hi-masses
Black Coffee replied to Black Coffee's topic in Bass Guitars
It sounds fuller to me. Maybe that’s another mans sustain - but my point is that it sounds different. The choice of bridges now is a bit mesmerising and I read good things about a lot of bridges but didn’t wanna drop top dollar for something I then regretted. So it’s been an experiment of a sort that left me wondering would the badass II be as much better as it is more expensive than the fender? I really didn’t expect to feel any better about it so I’m surprised.... -
I’d read and heard discussions around the hi mass / stock bridge upgrade subject and pulled the trigger on a hi mass fender for my jazz. After installing it yesterday and having a noodle on it, I have to say that there is a difference in the sound. I really only went for the fender option as it was the cheapest as I didn’t want to invest cash to find no difference at all but I’m now wondering would a more expensive version of an upgrade be a more noticeable difference. Ive never been one to get drawn into buying a bass and making lots of hardware changes to it, as I’ve been more content with a good set of Ernie balls , a good amp and four fingers and a thumb to play it with for finding my sound. I’ve a harmonic booster and a b3k for a gritty edge and that’s about as effected I am. Anyone have good bad or indifferent experiences from bridge upgrades ?

Bought an orange terror bass head from Ryan. Great to deal with, no dramas or delays; just a good Basschat transaction. Love the amp with the new 112 cab. Thanks

Did music lessons at school help with your musical life?
Black Coffee replied to Nail Soup's topic in General Discussion
I picked up drumsticks at 13 and a bass at 15. Never had a lesson in bass and had lessons for snare drumming for about 4 years. Im now 48 and no lessons has done me no harm (imho) in bass and in drums I play a kit now so snare drumming isn’t as relevant as a single instrument. My eldest son has a music degree and occasionally talks a foreign language and if he would just play it I would know what he means. PS I don’t speak Italian -
I don’t think it’s the platform per se More to do with the unscrupulous people who feast on the vulnerable. I almost fell for the PayPal email scam years ago, but something felt wrong about the number of thank yous and pleases in the correspondences and when I checked my account there was no cash in it. Scumbag said he was buying the bass for a terminally ill son he had and I almost fell for it as I was distracted by this little heart string tugger. The scumbags are everywhere unfortunately. Basschat imho has been 100% solid for all the trading I have done here.

I tried once to do this and bought a Dingwall afterburner II with chambered walnut body. Had a Genz streamliner amp and genz cabs with it. I spent more time worrying about putting a dent in the bass than actually enjoying playimg it so that experiment ended badly as I sold it on. Today my favourite bass is a 5 string Fender deluxe MIA jazz which feels just about perfect for me. My favourite cabs are barefaced and I’d probably go with an Orange 200 watt tube head.
