1. Chris, I had a flight case for a couple of weeks that I got in a trade. No whistling whatsoever. And whistling certainly isn't inherent in Class-D amps or switching power supplies (I design this kind of stuff for a living). Having said that, it's a fact that there are brands of amps on the market are so poorly designed that they do produce all sorts of artifacts.
 2.
I know this is resolved but +1 to the above. In the past I've done as Michael suggested a couple of times and Snip >< C
Yup.
 3. From the size of it it's likely around 45VA. It might also be an autotransformer instead of an isolating transformer. Not really any of my business, but I'd suggest that you don't give that to the buyer (or use it yourself).
 4. What is the VA rating of that 220/110 converter?
 5. Just received the bag for my RH450, and it doesn't half stink! Anyone else's the same? I think a cat's done a number 1 in this one...
 6.
Personally I wouldn't go for the bridge 1st. I've fitted BaddAss bridges to several basses and to be honest the results have always been underwhelming in the extreme. The best sounding 7ender I've ever played has bent tin for a bridge. Peter
+1
Is the cheapy bridge one with grooves for the saddles?
Best bridge there is for a Fender!
 7. Set of noiseless jazz pickups, used but as new - no marks or scuffs on housings. I've mislaid the screws, so assume they'll come without them. Looking for £50 + p&p.
 8. I also have a blonde 50's P. TBH it plays as well as any Fender I've had. I highly recommend them!
 9.
Not tried one yet but I have a BB2000. At over 2 grand the BB2024 seems a mite overpriced to me. No doubt a great bass but that's a lot of dosh for a bolt on version of the original which would cost you considerably less. If you can find one that is! A rare and beautiful bass.
I have a BB2000 (three of them!) but the BB2024 isn't trying to be a BB2000.
These'll be what they had at Manchester Bassday I suspect? I'm sure they've superbly well made but I can't see how the price difference between them and the cheap BB's is justified. Wait 6 months and I suspect they'll be heavily discounted.
I suppose one could make the comparison between Fender CS and Chinese Squires. I doubt if they'll fall below the £1600 mark (the pricing of the BB3000) unless they are discontinued (the BB3000MA models were sold of at $550). I would certainly consider paying £1600 for one. Fender fans conveniently forget that it was ex Yamaha employees (who built the BB1200 and BB2000 basses) who dug Fender out of the hole they were in in the early 80's. The Yamaha Japan QA has always been first rate, so I'd be interested to see how these compare build wise to the Fender CS basses.
 10. The Fender Bob Babbitt signature bass was going to have a switchable mute system. I don't know if it was this one or a Fender equivalent. Unfortunately it looks as if the bass may never be released.
 11. I see a few UK retailers now stock the Yamaha BB2024 basses. Has anyone familiar with the BB2000/3000 models tried one?
 12. Very nice amps with an excellent build quality. AI are one of the few companies who don't buy in a COTS audio power module for their class-D amps.
 13.
Back when the multi-drivered Jones stuff was The Next Big Thing, one of the guys here started a 'Good or crap? Discuss' thread looking for opinions. Mr. Jones presumably googled his name (hence my reluctance to use his full moniker) and came across this thread, and immediately launched into the OP in a big way -- you obviously know nothing about amps, who the fck are you anyway, I've got loads of big names playing my stuff and you're just an insignificant nobody, etc etc. Thus instantly alienating pretty much this entire community and losing a few thousand potential customers, thanks to his breathtaking arrogance.
Allegedly. There was no proof that the email circulating was from Jones. When I had a query about my Phil Jones briefcase a few years back I emailed the company and received a reply from the man himself. I found him to be very courteous, and extremely honest in his response.
 14. Alex, Perhaps you should introduce a rule - keep the cab for more than a week and you buy it. Having the cab for over two months is extraordinarily selfish. IHMO.
 15.
I have a great 1998 (a fine vintage for American Fenders)
Is it. Why?
 16.
UH WOT U MEEN
I know it doesn't take much to please an idiot, but that's really brightened up my day!
 17. I can't for the life of me understand why this is still here. I think the universe needs a reset, since there's a bit of faulty code running somewhere...
 18. Why do people comment on the £2000+ price tag of a Wal but nobody blinks an eye at a £2000 late 60's Fender? I know which one I'd rather (and do) have! And +1 to everything Bilbo said.
 19. Good heavens Sibob and WoT, have te pair of you had a recent humour bypass? Gilbass is taking the banter in the spirit that it was given. Personally I'm pleased to see such astounding optimism in a seller!
 20. I'll offer £350, as I'm in a particularly generous mood today!
 21. Received a pre-amp thingy from Clarky today, it was supposed to be used but I'm sure he sent a new one by mistake. I'm keeping quiet and hoping he won't notice...
Good grief! Even I know that one. Try googling 'Joy Division' or 'New Order'. noel27 I could be wrong but I thought that the original BBs were the BB800 and BB1000 in 1978, neither of which was neck-through.
The BB800,1000 and 1200 all came out in the same year.
My mid 80s BB3000S was £350, that was some years ago, but I certainly wouldn't want to pay much more than that for one now either, 400 quid if it was really nice. Worth every penny mind, superb bass in every way. My 1100S was around £275 and my 400S around £150.
A BB3000s would fetch much more than £400. Next in the money stakes would be the BB2000 followed by the BB1200 and BB3000. If you ever want to sell your BB3000s let me know.
 23. Bump for price increase
 24.
In the interest of fairness I have offered the Audere to the first BC'er to have shown an interest and I await their response.
Just replied, so hopefully the Audere is now spoken for!
 25.
For the avoidance of doubt BB2000's comment is not aimed at me! I have only ever lost money selling basses on BassChat!
Good lord no! I was having a dig at Bassman101, buying on here simply to try and resell at a profit (tupac567 on ebay).
