1.
I might well do that. Dropping Mark an email this afternoon about it!
Keep us in the loop!
 2.
I'm thinking white, gold hardware, white pearl plate, maple board with white block inlays. Proper Larry Graham tribute!
Oooh yes - my kind of bling. And matching headstock, natch?
 3. Keep us posted! That gold one in the video is proper lush.
 4.
I managed to get a used Mex Fender Roadworn Jazz in Fiesta Red and it really is exceptional. It even replaced my FSR as no. 1 gig bass, and that took some doing. So, perhaps one of them is worth trying?
Yes, these really are incredibly good. And wouldn't you know it, but Mr Limelight himself has one up for sale at the mo: http://classicandcoolguitars.co.uk/basses/roadwornjazz.htm If I were the OP I'd still go with the incoming Sandberg at BD, though!
 5.
I prefer the new ones. There are far too many Fender clones as it is - far better to have their own identity. And from what I gather from their facebook feed the new ones are far lighter! Can't wait to try one.
I like the new models, too - ironically, as I have a VM5 on order, which was commissioned just before they announced the changes, so it will be old style! But no biggie - I like the Fender-alikes as well. Got to agree with other posters regarding relicing, though - the new Sandberg style looks far too modern for relicing to make any sense, to me at least. If/when I get the new-style TM5 that I am already GASsing for, it will be shiny and new and entirely untainted by the relicer's grubby paws!
 6. You might have to forego the reverse headstock, though!
 7.
According to the Bass Direct website they have a TM2 coming in. Black, hardcore aged, matching headstock. Ebony board. Best get your credit card out while you have the chance!
Yep, and I'm 99% certain that this one was ordered before they announced the new styles, so it will have the Fender-like styling you are after. Limelights look good to me, but a double humbucker pup config with active-passive switching, Glockenklang pre, zero fret, plek'd fretboard, six-bolt neck joint etc. etc. would be well beyond their remit, so definitely go Sandberg if you can! Different class innit.
 8.
A Ritter Royale I'd guess
Or a Fodera Monarch.
 9. Just bought a TC Electronic Shaker vibrato pedal from John. Really friendly and helpful guy, great comms, prompt delivery and product exactly as described (i.e. perfect condition). Happy bunny here - strongest recommendation from me. Cheers, John!
 10. A Stagg, maybe? Looks a bit like the BC relay bass.
 11. But anyway, back OT, I suspect I will miss RBs - in fact, already starting to get a bit misty eyed about the cream-coloured sofas, and about the fact that I will now never come to understand what the 'Ultrabass' switch does on the Behringer Ultrabass amp in the Green Room ...
 12.
The University is taking loads of paying foriegn students - thats where the money is.
That, and the fact that undergrads now pay fees of £9k per year.
 13.
Random "I've got one of these and they're excellent basses" bump
Random "I had a go on Si600's one of these at the Midlands Bass Bash last week and they are indeed excellent basses" bump
 14. Like everyone else I have my likes and dislikes, but if we are really talking intolerable, blood-pouring-out-of-every-orifice levels of physical pain and suffering, I find Deep Purple’s ‘Child in Time’ very hard to beat. Especially the ‘Made in Japan’ live version. In order to avoid something like the 'head popping' scene from David Cronenberg's 'Scanners' taking place, I absolutely have to be out of the room well before the full-on falsetto screaming bit kicks in. Truly awful, brain-destroying stuff.
 15. Gorgeous bass! Congratulations! I have a custom order VM5 incoming, and this thread is not making the wait any easier ...
 16.
Get one, you know you want to
Must ... resist ...
 17. What a great day! It was brilliant to catch up with old friends again, to make some really nice new acquaintances, and to try out such a wide range of GASworthy gear. My highlights of the day, in no particular order: Roland Rock’s amazing Wood&Tronics, and his killer rig and pedalboard - the best fun I’ve had with an expression pedal for a very long time. Si’s P5 - as addictive as the chocolate orange cake; I kept wanting to come back for more of both all afternoon. 72Deluxe doing sweep arpeggios on his FNA Jazzman through TG Flatlands' wicked COG effects board - astonishing skills, and thrillingly aggressive synthy sounds! Jabba’s newest self-build - truly pro luthier build quality, and that Delano hybrid humbucker at the bridge sounded JUICY. bassbiscuits’ lovely Jazz - even though it made me realise that I am now utterly clueless on 4 stringers, especially in comparison to its owner, who really made it sing! LeeMan slapping the s**t out of my MTD and his Sadowsky. KILLER slap technique, sir - much envy of your machine gun triplets! Getting some top tips on the South Brum live scene from Seashell - and a nifty raga scale on the P, too! Len_derby's fabulous looking and sounding Yammy semi-acoustic - playing which has given me a horrendous case of piezo GAS! Talking Melt-Banana with Bradwell. Huge thanks to Si and Roland for getting it all together again and making everything run so smoothly on the day, and to Jo Sharman, Mrs Cytania and anyone else who contributed to the table of cakey delights.
 18.
My matched headstock basses
Love it!

 20.
Lovely - white is the colour for a Fender bass IMHO!
Agreed 100%!
