For sale, A Squier VM Jazz with an added black pickguard as I didn't want to look like a Jaco wannabe Looks better to my eye. Great playing bass and the lined Ebanol fingerboard has only a hint of marks from original roundwounds (I've only ever used flats), now on new Fender Flats. Nice Sunburst, Duncan Designed Pickups (decent tone range), Added Pickguard (62 shape if I remember correctly) with Fender Screws. Slightly realigned Control plate to fit. Few tiny marks including one I could not even photograph on the neck around fret (sic) position one, few around headstock and white mark on upper side of body. Can you measure the neck relief. Hold down string at fret 1 & 20 and then should be smidge of daylight (0.3-0.5mm ?) between string and Fret at mid fingerboard position. Any shim in neck pocket ? Cheers, David

I've been getting a bit confused regards various P/J Precisions. Found odd MIM ones with preferred 38mm Jazz neck and others at 41.3-42mm. What is this as friend has folding burning a hole in his pocket ?

Nickel hardware and truss rod adjustment at heel....shame it wasn't closer. Can you take a photo of back of Headstock to identify the Machine heads please?

Very tempted by this. Clone of my longest owned bass. If like mine S/N starts S9 that is 1989. Great necks and Schaller licenced tuners. Mine went to Bassdoc when had the shop near Grainger Market for a custom made red tort scratchplate (the Samick factory didn't quite get the shape right) and a D-tuner as those Machine heads are rarer than Rocking Horse Poo (I bent one).

You have my sympathy. I had a heavy relic one of these and sold for same reasons. Those fine frets and slimmest of slim necks are much missed

Don't suppose you head East often? I have a Gator 4U case in fine fettle. Sheffield, Pontefract or meet halfway ?

My weapon of choice. I bought one last year via the Evilbay as a friends just felt "right". Funnily enough it would to take something as good as the Yamaha to prise it from my paws

Wow, that is stunning. Wish I had funds and skills to do it justice. We were at the British Violin Makers Association exhibition not long ago and got talking to Colin (at least the Boss says it was him). It would cost a lot more than this to commission one now as effort to return ratio is nothing compared to a Violin or Viola. A truly stunning instrument that will serve many a generation.
