1. Anybody playing at this gig this weekend? It's a Harley Rally. I'll be there to say hello :-)
2. Saw this bass player playing in the nude at a bike rally in 2004 before I took up bass myself. Check out the drummer :-D
3. Loved Nathalie Merchant but disappointed she only got one song. No matter I bought her album on iTunes :-)
4. I hope so. I don't expect they get too many requests for a badly beaten up bass. Maybe someone will really be up for the challenge and for a change. Coda liked my idea and they were going to order it in even if I didn't order it. Maybe I'll jump the 5-8 month wait :-) yep, I'll post some photos when I get it. Good luck with yours :-)
5. Pulled the trigger on a custom order with coda yesterday for a very heavy relic 59P daphne blue over sunburst with a one piece Quartersawn tinted maple neck and fretboard. Asked them to make it as ratty as possible. I want a P that looks sh*t but sounds the dogs bollox :-)
6. ...he can even teach a blobfish to play :-)
7. Encourage him to play bass as it means one less guitarist :-)
8.
There's a 1/8" aux input, so still feasible to hook up iPads and iPhones via the headphone jack.
Thanks Marvin
9. Could have done with a socket for an iPad or iPod etc
10. What does it sound like and how does it compare to the old amp?
11. I might be interested for some fun but my band experience has been a disaster so far Guitman. Joined a Mod Band for 9 months but it folded after just 2 practice sessions , the second band had 1 practice session and folded, joined two others and they folded without me even meeting up :-(
12. Hi from Cyprus. It should be hi from Wales but my plane was cancelled and I'm stuck here for another day :-D
13. So happens the tumour was 2 inches long in my knee joint and attached to the bone and the patella tendon. I was off work for 6 weeks followed by 3 months physio and I've got to start more physio on the tendon when I get back from Cyprus. Good thing though is that although BIMM could have forfeited my £600, they kindly shifted me to this year so I'm doing 2 weeks in Bristol in August. Any one else going? Looking forward to it with a guest appearance from Yolanda :-)
14. I was going to get a RAY 34CA Fretless for about £700 but glad I bought the Ibanez for £274. Can always go up market if I really like fretless but the Ibanez is a very good fretless IMHO
15. I've bought some nylons but I haven't made my mind up to change as I like the bright sounds with the nickels it came with a few weeks back. I do love an upright sound though.
16. Who uses a pick anyway.... Dives for cover :-D
17. I look at it this way. How much does going out on a weekend cost? Say a Saturday night out with the boys, night club and curry etc.... £100 I dunno , I haven't had that pleasure since I got married 24 years ago :-( get the Bass and stay in for a few weeks and it's paid for itself :-D
18. I've just bought a cheap Ibanez for mucking about on at home. Bought a couple of fretless books and I pick it up every now and again just for something different. All good practice I guess. PS I sound nothing like Pino though :-D
19. For me it's tone first, then appearance and brand :-)
20. La Bella on my P and it sounds great, no issues
21. I looked and tried both before I bought my Pro Star Bass. I'd go for a gold JC for looks and value.
