1.
Would it be considered hijacking if I were to post a pic of mine? I'm so proud of it
Nope, any P Bass is good by me..... Any bump on the previous posting of mine though?
2. Nice, I had to stick it on my card and pay later:-( Really could decide........ It was OW right up to the last minute...... They are in stock in Germany at thormann .... Slightly cheaper but you get hit with about £30 visa charge.... But I wanted it NOW.... Uk suppliers seem to have a bit of difficulty getting them...... I thought that I would need to be a funky dude funkster to go for the OW :-)
3. I had a noodle tonight but before I started I thought I'd check the intonation, G D were spot on, A a little off and E quite a bit off. I checked it on the 12 harmonic and the open string. After I adjusted it I was finding that most of the notes at the top of the E were very sharp and the notes from the middle spot on my Korg Chromatic tuner..spot on the green light in the middle.... The F note was over +20 on the sharp side. Virtually all of the notes on the D and G were on green, most on the A. I noodled to my Stage 3 songs and afterwards all of th strings were off and I guess I put that down to stretch. I've managed to get the F note to less than +10 by slightly flatting the open E. There is a little triangle either side of 0 on th tuner at about +20. Does this mean that if you can't get perfect intonation anything under +20 closest to 0 is ok? I checked all notes on all strings and they are correct, most hit the green light and any others are slightly sharp. The Bass is far heavier than my Fender Squire P Bass and it's so low it's unreal......I've got a punk pop song to play mostly on frets 1 and 3. I had the volume knob on the Bass set to max and rolled off all the treble.... I had to turn it up almost to full as it was so low... I've only got a 15 w basic fender bass amp. What I've found though is that I've discovered harmonics that aren't even on my harmonic chart...is that possible? All harmonics are crystal clear and easy to find even for me including the half fret ones :-) I know little to nothing about Bass but it seems awesome. ....... A little fret buzz as normal :-) .... The strings don't like sliding but I guess they are brand new,
4. I'm inspired...there's hope for me yet :-)
5. Anyone got the bass for this please? It sounds awesome :-)
6. It's candy cola with a maple neck..... I was interested in the Olympic white with the tort pick guard but then I took a look at a few utube videos of the CCOLA :-)
7. I fancy one of those fancy white pearl ones :-)
8. An hour ago with my new P Bass ...and a photo of one of my Harleys..its all part of the Rock n Roll image but since I took up Bass in January I've only done about 100 miles

14. There's an indie rock song in there and you've got to improvise 4 bars..I'm going to try just 4 harmonics and thanks to Jon for the table. That should wake up the examiner :-D
15. Ace, mine arrives today. Hoping it will sound awesome and interested to hear the new pick ups. :-)
16. I'm new to this as well..I think the chorus sounds like more than 1 bass, overdrive adds more sound I guess, not sure about compressor, and maybe envelope has the crazy effects.is that about right? Any idea about the Ashdown effects pedals? Any combo pedal recommended? Thanks
17. Yep been listening to the breakdown of the bass lines but had to use my son's drums cd to hear them properly:-(. Think I'll struggle with the ear tests ..it runs in the family, my boy had trouble with his drums grade 2 test on Saturday :-)
18. Yep I'll be good when I'm 85 but too old to gig :-(
19. I'm doing the new Grade 3 as a first exam. Might need a bit of advice :-)
20. I've always fancied playing double bass in a rockabilly band so I thought maybe a good way to do that would be to learn the Bass :-) I doubt if I'll ever get to it now as there is so much to learn with the Bass. Always wanted to play an instrument and it's been my biggest regret. I'm 54 next week. My 10 year old is a drummer and I saw a kid playing the Bass. I thought, that's it, I'm going to give it a try...2 weeks later a Bass arrived from Germany. :-) been at it now since January. All my spare time is spent reading, listening, learning and playing Bass :-)
21. Yep I guess....just meant some of the higher frequencies that a tweeter would pick up....inexperienced sorry. Might get the combo with the 2 x10 and tweeter and add to it later a cab without tweeters.
