Ref the 4x10 vs 1x15 debate, I swapped a Boschmann 12" sub for a Rockford Fosgate 12" sub in my old van's audio setup. The RF was significantly louder using the same enclosure and same power amp. Boschmann use Male inches to measure their size, whilst RF use Female (real) inches. The fact they fit the same cutout in the same enclosure is here nor there, as the Boshcmann must clearly have been smaller than it claims in reality.

No worries, just thought it might be worth showing another option.

Fleabag, Just had a moment of enlightenment and checked what's currently powering my bass board (the Vittoos is powering my guitar stuff at the moment) - If you need a 15v outlet then a Mooer Macro Power S8 might do you. It has a switchable 9/12/15/18v outlet. Back up to paying ~£60 again, but looks like it meets your requirements. https://www.bonnersmusic.co.uk/mooer-macro-s8-power-supply.ir

Honesty and trust not important these days ?
BassThing replied to dmccombe7's topic in General Discussion
Me and a good friend run a holiday villa as a small sideline. If I ranted about every person who said "We want to rent your villa for these dates" and then never actually did, Ped would have to buy a bigger server to hold the threads. 😂 Most recent one was a woman wanting 3 weeks at Christmas which is one of best periods to rent. She inquired, came back a month later with what looked like a very definite "I'll have it" and then nothing. Until the deposit drops onto the account, it ain't rented and life carries on. -
Be careful if you shop around, I found some very similar looking ones cheaper (e.g. Vittoos DC8) but luckily stopped short of buying before I spotted they were not fully isolated.

The dodgy 2 pin "plug" is the 18v adapter, not just a plug, so you can't just cut it off. HB *should* be supplying a UK pin version under EU regs IIRC. Alternatively, there are plenty of these on ebay with a UK PSU for 2/3 the price. The HB one is just a rebadged generic item. I have one after seeing it in the pedal board thread and it does work very well. e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VITOOS-ISO8-Compact-Size-Guitar-Effects-Power-Supply-Power-Pack-Station-8-N0B3/183795792637?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

That surprises me, can't think of any Dreamtime song that uses octave on bass? You don't mean CE2? Never got to see them on that tour so won't say just how jealous I am... 😞

First gig I ever went to was Siouxsie and the Banshees in November 1982. The support act was one bloke with a synth and a backing track (no idea who it was). Some very scary (to a 15yr old) looking punk guy was hurling abuse at him "You're killing live music" "You're putting drummers out of work", before storming out. And who can forget....

80's goth (Cult, Cure, Banshee etc), 80's rock, 80's.. well anything 80's! 90's Indie. Plus lots of others I'm sure. Ironically the time Jamie Stewart ditched his chorus sound that was so abundant on Dreamtime, but given how Mr Duffy's guitar was dripping in JC120 chorus, I can see why it would work well for that song on bass too.

I like the shimmer on the RV6, never tried it or heard it on bass though.

Good aren't they! I managed to build 3 different boards from a shelf twin pack.

I can firm the headline is true. I have tried earplugs fried, boiled, grilled, oven baked, etc but they still taste like sh*t, even if covered with copious amounts of chilli sauce. Yup, ear plugs don't work (as a meat substitute).

The “other” (American) bass related conversation site.

Clearly the person chipping in is a TB shill. -
After a bit of searching, I found the HB ISO-2 is just like at lot of their other products, rebadged generic items. I found the same item badged up as a Vitoos ISO8 on ebay for £35 (£40 with £5 off promotion). It arrived yesterday and I plugged it into my guitar rig with a few normally noisy pedals. This thing is good, hardly any noise at all from the pedals, the 12v and 18v powering respective pedals with ease.

No, it's not the BF-2B, it's the purple guitar one. I tend to use either my MXR M117R or an old Aria flanger on my bass.
-
My Boss BF-2 is an ACA type, however the 9v daisy chaining does not work with it (strictly speaking, I've tried it with common ground 9v outputs on my Mooer Macro Power S8 PSU rather than an actual daisy chain cable) so I just use the isolated 12v output on the PSU instead.

I was thinking that, maybe he follows the boutique crowd and was embarrassed at liking a Boss pedal?

I was going to post that image with my previous post mentioning shelving filters but though it was too obviously the result of a Google image search (and also the original is posted on Talkbass). Are the rules quite relaxed here about posting images like that? Other forums I'm on can get quite snotty about copyright.

Yup, patenting a rectangle, was hardly innovation by Apple.
-
It all depends on the circuit, a 3 band EQ, is most likely to be of a Baxandall type where the only "band" to have a Q is the mid. Bass and treble are shelving filters rather than the band pass filter of the mid.

You can also tell which stations belong to the same parent company. Since Kerrang got killed off on DAB, I've had to resort to either Absolute CRock or Planet Rock. I've noticed that a song will start getting played regularly on one channel and if I switch over to the other side on another journey, the same track is being rotated on there too.

Mods: Could Bass For Sale threads be separated into 4 and 5+ strings?
BassThing replied to Bass Culture's topic in Site News
To save putting it in every ad, I'm N. London, 6' 0", and ~160lbs. However, I'm not dating, so not sure why you want to know this when buying an item off me... 😜 -
Unloaded 2 x 12 cab
BassThing posted a topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
I have a 2 x 12 cab for sale. It also has cut-outs for tweeters that could also be used for bass reflex tubes or just plated over. It's lined internally with acoustic wading. There's one 1/4 jack on the rear but two receptacles if you wanted to added a 2nd input or daisy chain. It's in perfect condition (if a little dusty in places from being sat idle for years...), never been gigged. Looking for £50, buyer to collect from North London, or maybe meet partway for fuel. -
Brasso or Silvo wadding? They aren't abrasive but are both good removing patina.

Trace Elliot SMX amp head - Shredded Allen bolt heads!
BassThing replied to Davy's topic in Repairs and Technical
A bit belated, but this is exactly what I was going to suggest. Have used this method many times (not on amps...).
