1. That's a shame. Still, it won't reignite your 5 string P-bass GAS
2.
I will have a listen later on and vote. Seems a couple less noodles this week?
One of those was mine, despite having all month the deadline snuck up on me
3. I use really thin picks by the sound of it, Dunlop 0.6 ones.
4. Nothing about how it was better back in the day or using music stands?
5. I've never been able to play finger style with any kind of flow or consistency and when I started playing I didn't know I wasn't allowed to use a pick
6. Before I forget, does anyone fancy a raffle? Bring something to go onto the table if you do.
7. Bum, it's the 30th already, are riffs in this month?
8. It's next week! Hopefully you're all excited and looking forward to it
9. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
10. I find mine is a faff to tune, I have to do each string a few times before they all stay in tune, but I agree, it's not the evil invention it has the reputation for.
11. I was going to do a Northampton Saints one. But I didn't get round to it and and sold the bits. There's a P-bass neck on here somewhere with a yellow faced headstock
12. Are Andy and Jabba bringing their latest projects?
13. It looks the same, I've no idea if it is the same under the cover.
14. Last night during band practice I heard a sort of jangly noise from my cab, it appears around a high F (3rd on D) so maybe frequency based. The cab is a GK MB212, rated at 600 according to the sticker on the back and I run it with the horn switch in the off position. I got if from someone on here, danged if I can remember who, they painted the grill black so if you know who you are speak up! I'm using a GK MB500 Fusion with the gain on B almost all the way up but the master volumes are nowhere near loud, not even earplug loud last night. The signal goes through a tuner - GE-7B - ODB-3 - MS70B - Nova Dynamics Compressor Any idea what may have happened, and is it serious? I'm assuming that if one of the speakers is breaking then replacement is better sooner rather than later?
15. You could look at the bridge pickup from an early American Deluxe P-Bass, they are a sort of back to back Jazz pickup. Not the current model, that's a normal Jazz pup
16. As I said in the intro I'm happy to have any obscure or exotic amps, but we do need to keep a lid on the volume. The previous years everyone has been sensible with only a little interference by the noise police My rule is that if I can't have a conversation without shouting then someone is too loud.
17. I'm seeing Fish on Sunday at Rock City. He's doing the Misplaced Childhood album for most of the set I believe.
18. We've exceeded the amp rig number for the event by 2, can we nicely sort out amongst ourselves which amps are coming? I know some are being brought along on request from other attendees and I'm bringing mine as a house rig for all to try.
19. 1. Si600, GK MB212 (house rig), Fender P V. 2. The_Ox (exams permitting) 3. tauzero, Sei Original fretless 5, Sei Flamboyant 6, Antoniotsai 5, maybe something else interesting, and possibly Mrs Zero. 4. Harryburke14 5. Len_derby 6. Andyjr1515 7. Bottle. Ibanez bass, Line 6 Lowdown 110, amp rack and effects boards. 8. Annoying Twit. Who knows what I will bring. 9. GrammeFriday - Sandberg VM5, TC RH750, TC RS212, maybe also pedalboard 10. Jabba_the_Gut - A couple of homemade basses (if I finish them in time...again), Markbass head and TC RS112 cabs 11. IanA - CN112's 12. Norris - Aria SB-1000, Squier P-bass Special, Fender Rumble v3 500 combo 13. Bassbiscuits - Fender 1970 P bass, Sandberg TT4, Markbass head and Schroeder 1210 cab 14. Chris Sharman - Westone Thunder 3 Fretless, Harley Benton 5 string Deko, (another bass to be confirmed), Mrs Sharman, Cake. 15. Joebethell - Bass or two and a pedal board work allowing. 16. IanA - Nordy's, Vabderkley and Puma 900 17. BigJim 18. happynoj - 3 Warwick basses, Warwick Xtreme 5.1 + 2x10, pedalboard. 19. zbd1960 20. intime-nick - Kemper and pedal and an Eden 2x10
20. From where Twincam and I are it looks like riffs aren't popular this month
21. It's close enough I think. It also appears later on just before the second verse. If you don't play it it throws the timing. I think the beginning of the second riff is A G A C D D D
22. Time for a bit of Britpop! I'm going to run something past the BC Massive, I think I'm about there, but I'm not entirely happy. The main riff is (* indicates a rest) A A A * C C C * G G G * A A A * A C A C D D D * G G G * A A A * There's a bit at 02:44 which sounds like D A C A A E G E but I'm not convinced that the open E fits There's also a bit at 00:21 that I just cannot catch. Annie Holland doesn't post on here does she?
23. A little nudge to remind everyone that it's just over a month until the bash.
24. Dave put little coloured sleeves on some of my cables when he made them so I could identify them after I bundled them up in a homemade snake
