1. Right. So it's a crap video, then, and he's an arsehole.
2. I thought it was all in the fingers. You people can't have it both ways.
3. And he's wearing 'capri' trousers. Like a girl.
4.
they obviously sounded more similar than a trumpet does to a harp for example, but I heard very significant differences between the basses.
Yeah, I mean, they all sound like basses, and basses all sound, well, like basses. Otherwise we'd think of them as something else. Put that guy in with a band, with some keys, maybe a singer, and a guitar, or horns, and the drums, and there'd be so much going on that the small differences in tone would get lost and you'd just hear a sort of generic bass sound, like you do in most 'band' music, as it's at the lower, muddier end of things. Where it should be, because it's a bass. Sort of. Great player, great vid, great basses, great idea, etc.
5. Goes to show that all basses pretty much sound the same, really. Some can be a bit treblier, sometimes.
6. Interesting piece: http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2013/feb/24/napster-music-free-file-sharing
7. I'd love some of that shockingly blue blueness on my modded red Yamaha BB404. Who is this Bass Doctor? Was it expensive? Do they have other mental colours? I'm thinking greeny green. Or... er... orangey orange.
8. Is it the same as this one available new for £59.99? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Maple-Precision-Bass-Guitar-Neck/dp/B0013NCXUI/ref=pd_sim_sbs_MI_1/275-7484735-4510025
9.
because downloading isn't illegal
is this absolutely, definitely, verifiably true? (and do you have a link to something official that would make me believe it) Is it perfectly, completely, wonderfully legal and not copyright infingement to download (not upload) something from online without the copyright holder's permission? Or however one wishes to phrase it. And does it refer to anything? Films, software, etc.
10.
then no matter how good your "reasoning", you are a thief, same as if you took something for free off my market stall. The fact that you can run faster than me, are bigger than me or have your mates with you doesn't alter the fact that you are a thief.
No. If a thief steals something (from your market stall), that means that you, the owner, don't have it anymore. That very very plainly does not happen with digital downloading. They are very different scenarios. Regardless of the morals of it, they are different situations. There is no thievery.
11. As long as I could source a 76160114 power board for them, presumably?
12. Hmmm, that doesn't sound very simple, or easy to make happen. Thanks though.
13. Ooh I have a related question. I own a synthesiser that uses a 2P-AC1 connector. Google it if you want; it's not very exciting. The issue isn't that as such, though it is a bit of a pain. The issue is that the synth was bought in the States, so it has US voltage. To use it here in the UK, I need to plug said 2P-AC1 lead into a step-down (or is it a step-up) voltage converter, which is big and heavy and hot and clunky. And currently being used by some powered monitors. My question: would it be possible, if I took this synth to someone who's handy with electronics and electrics and stuff, to just swap out that voltage power supply bit and replace it all with a standard kettle lead style connection, ready for UK voltage? Is it a relatively simple thing for someone (not me) to do? Thanks for your knowledge. (The synth is a Roland Alpha Juno 2, if that's at all relevant)
14. What I understood from the explanations above is that it's the how not the what. But I don't know if that's right.
15. Info on it here: http://usa.yamaha.co...2_4/?mode=model I've owned this since I bought it new in Spain around 1998 for about a million squillion pesetas. It's never seen the outside of my home studios. Stereo channels 11 and 12 have stopped working; I don't know why. If you're handy with electronics you might be able to fix it. Or you might not. Everything else about it is fine. A little rusting to a couple of the screws. The "digital effect" section is crap, and always has been. The seven-band EQ is quite handy if you need to... er... EQ... the output. The high, mid and low EQs for each channel are very good. The group outputs would be handy for monitoring drums and stuff. It has phantom power. I have the original box for it, in great condition. I have a printed PDF of the owner's manual. Price? £40 collected from Penge in SE London. Postage £16 by Parcelforce if you want me to post it. Which I will. For you. To your door. For £16. As stated. Yes. Questions? Ask. I will answer. Thanks! 16. Greg sold me a thing and it was delivered the next day and it all went well.
17. Castilian is different again! (It's "normal" Spanish). Valencian is the same as Catalan. Which is what you were saying, I think. And not that it matters.
18. It's also Valencian (same language, different name, basically).
19. £100 delivered to your UK address. £85 picked up from Penge in SE London. I could also meet elsewhere in London, if that helps and it's close to public transport. I'm also in Leeds occasionally. This is a lot of fun to play. The strings are (or appear to be, or at the very least are exactly like) Rotosound nylon tapewounds, albeit with black silks. You can see that the silks protrude slightly onto the first fret position. It doesn't affect how it plays. The three knobs are something of a mystery to me. Two of them seem to control volume, but with different results, and one affects tone. It must be something to do with the type of pickup. It stays in tune nicely and has a nice all round feel to it. It comes with the adjustable stand that it sits on. Will try to answer any questions.
