1. Bumping bump. Any trades? No love for a great looking individual P bass.
2. Sounds good hope it did well at the gig. Is it just battery or did it come with a power supply for the receiver? Cheers
3. If you want a unique p bass I'm selling this: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/270913-peavey-t20-1983-l300/page__pid__2899392#entry2899392 Which are pretty rare over here. You are more than welcome to try it if you are ever in the Bristol area.
4.
Yamaha instruments are very good. The only slight criticism I have is that my old BB1100s sounded a bit "clinical" but to many that`s probably a very good plus point.
I'd disagree. My bb1100s has a stonking tone and I wouldn't call it clinical. Id massively recommend one if you can find one.
5. Great Cabs these at a bargain price. I used to have a couple and they sound great. Glwts
6. And up. How does £300 collected £320 posted sound? That is the lowest I will go.
7. Has anyone tried the Smooth Hound against the Sony system? They are the 2 I'm considering but most of the chat seems to be a comparison with the Line6. Cheers
8. Be interested to hear your thoughts as I'm leaning towards the Sony
9. I dont have time to do a lot of driving at the moment but could possibly meet around Cheltenham way if that helps, I'll also bring a Vox Amplug so the bass can be tried. Im happy to post too as long as you are but at cost and your risk.
10. Hi Garry Yes it does do a P tone as the pickup is in about the same place but I'd say the Super ferrite pickup does have a brighter tone than and cuts a bit more like a jazz/ric. If you are anywhere near Bristol you are welcome to try it out. Also while i dont have the kit to record sound very professionally I'm happy to record some sound clips on my phone or tablet to give you an idea. Also I'm happy to provide any additional photos or messurements if required.
11. cheers. i agree, i this had an f on the headstock itd be a couple of grand. Ideal Xmas present for someone born in 1983.
12. Do say more as biased is good! Also in the interest of clarity, after playing it last night i thought it was worth mentioning the action is a little high for my tastes, which i think is partly down to this bass having the fattest saddles ive ever seen. It is perfecly playable but gets little high on the higher notes. Neck is straight and truss rod works fine.
13. Ive never played a t40 but i know this is a more basic bass in terms of versatility
14. im pondering a similar purchase at the moment. i was heading towards the line6 but have been reading the reviews of the smooth hound and seen that the german shop are doing the Sony for £130 and am now thoroughly confused. All seem to get good reviews. on top of that i got the hard sell on the new sure system from my local pmt (most unlike them) trying to convince me the rechargable battery and the fact they own some bandwidth is worth the extra £200. Too much choice!
15. Bump again. Cash is king but I'm open to trades too. Orange Terror Combo, Sp212 cab, barefaced midgit or other similar cabs considered. Line6 G30 Wireless or similar with cash my way. Also while I dont need any more basses I could be tempted by a nice Jazz, USA Sub Ray or something old and interesting. cheers
16. Bugger, it looks like family stuff is getting in the way and I don't think I'll be able to make it, sorry.
17. cheers for that,I'm tempted to keep it for its individuality but need to thin the heard a bit. Its difficult to price this as they arent very common but to me its got to be worth Mexican Fender Money at least and T40s seem to go for £450-500ish so this price seemed fair to me. Im open to sensible offers and trades but not in a rush to sell. Cheers Steve
