SORTED -- Bristol bassist required for rock/pop covers band
sbrag replied to Jakester's topic in Bassists Wanted
Sorry typed in the wrong thread -
No worries and thanks for the comments. I've had a play though at home so a bit more structure is (hope it makes sense and apologies for any errors): Into & Verse A C G D PreChorus 8 bars A Chorus 4 bars G Verse A C G D Pre chorus A Solo A - I pedal A to G and add the odd fill Finishes in G as per Chorus Verse A C G D Last Chorus bit (it's like bad dream, Slow death etc) A to F# Outro D A G It's not too hard once you get the structure sorted but it's a really good fun song to play. One of my favourites in our set. I hope it goes well, all the best.
Ah yes, Candy Apple Turqoise ... one of the rarer custom colours used by Fender.
The one on ebay. Not the headstock in the thread!

I saw this and liked it too and had the same worry about the decal. My wife likes turquoise so I'm wondering if I can sneak it in despite being skint and not needing it!

We do a version of it, and it's a belter of a song to play but i didnt think many other bands would do it. I have never written tab before but could try but basically I just play the roots in 8th for the first round of A C G D then let my fingers go where they want around pentatonic patterns on those chords. Chorus is A to F# ( may be a G trying to remembe off the top of my head) which I just play roots on Outro bit is D A G which i mostly just play roots and octaves with the odd fill for good measure Solo is A I just play A G hammer on The verse is the fun bit as you can play around a lot. A slightly rough version of us playing it can be found here: Listen to Slow Death by Black Dog Company #np on #SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/blackdogcompany/slow-death-1 I hope that helps.

Peavey amps from the 80s will still be working in a millenia when the cockroaches are ruling the world!

Things To Think About Before Joining A Working Band
sbrag replied to blue's topic in General Discussion
What? For gear that was already owned by the band? Jog on!
Previous bass player had his share paid back when he left and new bass player is expected to pay in. I guess it links to the other thread on here at the moment of who owns the pa etc. I'm a firm belier that it's easier if certain people own certain things but all questions I'll ask up front In future. I did join and it all worked out ok. -
Things To Think About Before Joining A Working Band
sbrag replied to blue's topic in General Discussion
Question from me after my last band is am I expected to pay a joining fee to cover my share of lights/pa etc. Auditioned, liked it got the gig and was told I needed to chip in a week or so later. -

I decided to take it to a gig last night as it sounded ace at home. 5 songs in and it started to cut out so I can't sell it in its current state for the current price. I think it is a loose connection to the master volume so should be easily fixable but I'll take £50 plus postage to save me the hassle of getting it fixed otherwise I'll take it to an amp tech repost once it is sorted.

I would recommend a Tanglewood Elfin if you can find one. I bought one off here to stop my kids breaking my basses. Fits my kids (6 and 9) great and it is nice and light too. My 9 year old was playing it last night and said she loves it. Biggest thing is that it sounds like a proper p bass and I am happy to use it as a travel bass and trying to find an excuse to gig it. I'll stick a photo up later.

2 Heads and a cab for sale. Bought recently to try and free up a few £££s but have decided I can't replace my OBT and Barefaced set up so these are surplus to requirements and taking up room. I may keep one of the heads as a back up. Peavey T-Max head. Valve and solid state pre amps.500 watts at 2 ohm. Amp sounds great and works as it should except the volume knob for the solid channel snapped but you can still turn it, it has a few scuffs on the body, some light rust on the back. Looking for £125ono SOLD - Ampeg B2-RE Head. Solid state head 450 watts at 4 ohm. Good condition except one slider on the eq is broken but it can still be moved with a finger nail. The guy I bought it from said it made a noise when the bass was plugged in but I've had no issues and it works perfectly for me.£100ono SOLD -Ampeg B410hlf 4x10 cab with switchable tweeter. 400 watts at 4 ohm. Couple of nicks and marks in the tolex but otherwise good condition. £175ono Any trials or viewings welcome and I'll put the kettle on too. Id much prefer collection from Downend in Bristol or I may be able to deliver in the Bristol area and often travel to Bournemouth with work. Postage for the amps should be OK at buyers cost and risk but I don't have packaging for the cab. Open to sensible offers especially if you want an amp and cab together. Any questions please let me know. Photos here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/op8yuqlcfg1i1vl/AAAS26J3CeQBBsDSX_sj82Oga?dl=0
