  1. Carlsbro cobra PA100 PA system for sale. 4 channel 100 watt pa system for sale. 2 x 12 inch speakers with horns. All works as it should good condition with brand new speaker cables. Any tests welcome at Downend in Bristol. Cash on collection please. Delivery/meet up may be possible in a sensible distance. Any questions please let me know.
  2. Ashdown MAG250 tweed look bass combo amp for sale. Built in 12 inch speaker and Max power of 300 watts at 4ohm. Built in overdrive and compression functions and 5 band eq. Very nice looking and sounding amp and pretty much mint condition as it has only left my house once since I have owned it and never gigged. Bought new from PMT just over a year ago. Only selling as I've joined a new band and bought something with more power. Any trials welcome and cash on collection preferred as it is quite heavey I may be able to deliver/meet up in a sensible distance of Bristol. Postage considered at buyers cost and risk. I would trade for a Barefaced Compact, Super Compact or 2Ten with cash you way or possibly a small practice amp plus cash to me. Any questions please let me know.
  3. Essentially what it says in the title. I've read the logic about why it is 12 ohm or 4 ohm for the modular set up and not after a technical answer but I'm after this very much as a layman. If you use a single 2Ten how much difference can you actually hear with it set to 12 ohm rather than 4 ohm. It is a frugal question based on if I should consider an older 12 ohm model on it's own as they tend to be cheaper.

  5. I will post once I've had a proper go with it. Stupidly sold my old OBT & BF compact rig a year ago as hadn't been gigging. Now I've joined a new band I want something similar again. I loved the OBT but the tone is a bit limited so was very tempted by the valvyness of these. Cheers for the recommendation but at that price and with 30 days to return it feels a fairly safe bet! I've just got to replace the barefaced now!
  6. Oops on your recommendation I've just clicked buy! Should be here tomorrow. I've also got a peavey mini max coming in from thomann so will be good to compare. As I see it you can get 2 new class d heads with warranty for less than a lot of the competitors 2nd hand prices e.g. £350 2nd hand for an OBT Genz streamliner etc.
  7. I've just noticed that amazon are now doing these for under £180 which seems nuts. To those who have had one for a while: Any issues and is worries about the bugera brand just snobbishness? Does it come with a 3 year warranty? Amazon seems a bit vague and the link on this? Cheers
  8. I think andertons are still doing them at £400. I also tried the tobacco burst maple neck ones which are very nice too.
  9. I've had this for a few weeks now and still cant get over what a cracking bass and how good a value for money it is. I've had a jazz itch for a while and have tried/bought and sold a couple. But wanted a specific spec e.g. lake placid blue, rosewood board, block markers etc. Was tempted by ether the g&l and Sire with at spec but ended up plumping for the more traditional. Bought it with a bit of black Friday discount from the good folks at PMT Bristol and managed to try it against a 2nd hand Sire and a Mexican Fender they had in and the G&L played and sounded better than both especially considering the Fender was about £250 more expensive. Had an audition for a new band so I took it along with my trusty old yamaha and got the gig and said they'd want me to use the g&l as they loved the look and the tone. I dont know how G&L do the tribute series so cheaply but it is an absolutely cracking bass for £400. I'd absolutely recommend one over any equivalent Fenders.

    Eden ex112

Does anyone gig a pair of eden ex112s? I've seen some good reviews they seem good value for a modular set up but the consensus seems to be 1 is not enough on it's own. Looking to something to go with a peavey mini max I've got on the way.
  11. Hi apologies if this is in the wrong place or not the done thing but have seen others ask similar questions. Does anyone regularly travel from or near Luton to Bristol and would be happy to help a marketplace sale of a cab? Happy to pay to cover fuel or some beer for your trouble! I'm in Bristol and happy to meet within a sensible distance of bs16. PM me if this is possible. Thanks Steve
  12. Any one got any good cab suggestions for one of these as the Peavey ones seem a bit cheap looking. I'm looking for a bf compact or thinking maybe a Fender Rumble 1x15 or 2x10?
  13. Just placed an order. Let's see what comes. I was looking at £4-600 amps (OBT, Laney Nexus sls) etc. then saw this which has all the features I want so let see how loud the fan is as it seems the only complaint I've seen!

  17. Dont know if it has been listed on here but my brother has just bought a Vox AC15 which he loves which gives something different from his old Marshall, and I've seen good reviews of the AC4 as well, although they are very simple.
  18. I sold Chris some strings. The sale to him was easier than me buying the strings from Amazon (as I bought the wrong scale!). Deal in confidence, I woud happily trade with him again. Cheers
  19. Set of d'addario elx160m nickel wound, medium guage (50, 70, 85, 105), medium scale strings for sale. I bought these by mistake, propper school boy error. Put them on my 34" scale yamaha bb and wondered why I was getting fret buzz then realised they were medium scale so took them off agin. Essentially unused but Cut for a 34 inch bass so will fit a 30 or 32 inch bass comfortably. £10
