2.
That was some of it and Ampeg suffered from that as well. But I have seen a few people that got the Superfly when Sound Control were knocking them out cheap have had problems. sh*t sticks ! [/ quote] wouldnt now about those was thinking of the mag and abm range.will have to wait and see on the little giants.
3.
I think the idea that they will blow up is born of the experience of Ashdowns blown up as regularly told on these pages.
wasnt that the time when they first shipped manafacture to china?think you will find they have sorted out those problems now.
4.
I really hope they get this right and produce a cheap alternative to the LMII!
depends on how our little chinese friends have put them together i suppose!
5. +1 on freindly fire, thought snow patrol were ok.not much else really although ol tom hasnt lost it!
6. speakon from head to 4x10.then speaker lead from 4x10 into 1x15 sorted.great amp the evo11 although you could get negative comments about it.but with all the ashy rigs you see on telly etc they must be the dogs gonads!
7. we do 5 different pubs but only one is suffering at the moment due to credit crunch and bad management.some pubs have not booked up to far in advance so i think they are waiting to see if things are going to get worse.some publicans always want some kind of music usually the cheapist they can find irrespective of sound, style, live, etc.

12.
+1 for the older TE combos, built to last and surprisingly compact enclosures. Find an old 7215 with the extension speaker option, lots of versatility. One here but it is overpriced; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Trace-Elliot-GP7SM-3...id=p3286.c0.m14 Should be able to pick one up for £100 less than that.
+1 i had one of these great little combo's and probably need an extension cab with it.average price on there is about £250,infact that one might have been mine!
13.
i think Ashdown wins the most hated award
dont think they'll mind too much!
14.
I normally leave the button in the out position, but I still don't know which way round the pre/post EQ is... Do you?
button in is pre eq......i think!cant say mine has sounded how you're describing yours.i always get a good deep sound out of a couple of subs di'd.
15.
I was taught at college that VU stood for "virtually useless". Basically because the needle responds too slowly to give you a true indication of peaks. As a general guide I suppose it does just fine though. A simple clipping LED is far more useful but nowhere near as sexy.
you hit the string and it moves how fast do you want !
16. dont believe eveything you read!the needle should occasionally go into the red but not stay in there.everytime you adjust your eq check the meter as this makes a difference.adjust input control accordingly.you want to see the needle move but not to far to the red.
17. i would say you need 300w+ even if you are pa'd.better to have too much than not enough!as for the gear you'll have to try some out then you will hear it for yourself.you will get lots of suggestions on here but not nessercerily right for the sound youre after.
18. yep x3 your normal at least!
19. ive never found any good deals with thomanns, must have missed them!
20.
My back hates them, and I can't afford a roadie [/qu neither can i just all muck in together!
21. yep another lefty playing rightly.just happend to pick up the bass for first time right handed and never changed.dont change a drum kit around either but tbh i hardly play them now.
22. ampeg......why all the fuss and so much money! markbass......dipped in custard......why? behringer........oh no they cant be overated cos everyone knows theyre crap! light weight cabs......whats wrong with cabs that weigh 36kg or more!???? cheap yamaha guitars......see behringer! not so cheap yamaha guitars.........just stick with making keyboards or pianos!
23. ive had the ampeg and the ashdown all i can tell you is the abm was louder than the ampeg by a mile!best to try them all if you can though.the ampeg cab i had was the he model.
24.
Depends how much you want to spend really, WD are quite expensive and I found they aren't that good a fit either. Had to file out the neck pickup slot on the one I bought..
yes a bit more than i wanted to spend really but they have a good selection.
25. looks good,will take a look thanks.
