Yikes ! I'm perplexed where he got £550 BIN from. There seem to be some really optimistic people around !
no wonder it did'nt sell!
MB1. Buyer collects? Have you ever been chased through the countryside by a man in a mask weilding a chainsaw?
happens all the time in deepest norfolk! -
i still like my five fifteen , but its like cars if you get some bad ones it does put you off a bit . warwicks get some stick here sometimes ,but i do not throw the teddy out the pram because of it . as one mans meat is anothers poison , thats why these companies survive . would love this new amp to be a winner but the price seems a little bit on the high side ,will have to see what happens when it arrives .
agree with what you say,but it seems only ashdown gets slagged off on here when theres a lot of gear which is more unrealiable and not as good,(no names mentioned!)wasnt me who threw the teddy was it?
I'm also an Ashdown owner, doesn't mean I have to stick up for them though I used to have a Nemesis 2x12 combo, loved it. Doesn't have the bells and whistles of say, the EVO preamp but it's the relative simplicity that I liked about it.
im also a peavey and fender owner but i wouldnt stick up for either of them!
-
Agreed with you there, the Nemesis stuff is great. It really does amaze me how defensive people get over the brand they support. Don't understand it really.
im only sticking up for ashdown cos i like their gear and get fed up with people slagging them off all the while.if they are a joke they would have gone bust years ago,at least they try something new!cant comment on the nemesis because ive never heard one just take your word on that.ashdown did have a problem when they first shipped to china but i understood they sorted that out,or perhaps ive got that wrong as well!anyway im off to look for a nemesis!
ashdown have a history of blowing up. everytime i see ashdown endorsees they have at least 2 heads. 1 spare. thats becasue they are cheaply put together. i know one endorsee personally and he told me the abm evo3 500 is about £150 and the 8x10 is around the same price. cheap components go boom. i have also owned an ashdown in the past. i liked it.
CHEAPLY put together in the prc like most amps these days.thats why the new heads are exspensive being made in usa!as for ashdown endorsees having two heads think you'll find most endorsees gig with spare amps.we all now whatever make, prc made gear will never be as good or last as long as uk or us made gear.
well my ashdown amp went phut ,was told because they did not use fans in their build ,£1600 i do not think so rather have my hartke 3500 .
my evo11 has two fans, what was yours?
-
few secondhand ashdown combo's on fleabay at the moment or seperates on here,IMO the abm evo11 models are the ones to get.buying new you would just about get the abm 1x15 combo but IMO that needs a 2x10 cab with it.several options with £500 though.
-
might be selling my abm 2x10 if the price is right.
Even if it's a success it'll still get slated by the Anti-Ashdown bandwagon.
youre right there!cant seem to do anything right on here but i suppose that if you are a successful company you have to expect criticism!
-
+1, £400 isn't bad. The BIN however is optimistic to say the least And your post is utterly irrelevant, GTFO.
+1 to all of that!!
-
yes, very underrated in my (owner) opinion.
still bit exspensive .what ive seen but im sure well worth it
-
Dude, some punctuation and a nod toward standard English syntax would be much appreciated. That post is utter garbage.
wat, u xpect !4 a sunnday!?syntax what the f@@k is that!anyhow i now what i mean (i think)
-
thats a bit much! two on fleabay at the mo!one BIN £499!
-
my opinion is on ashdown gear . if its older gear it is uk built which was exspensive to buy new and is a lot better than prc made so anyone who is into ashdown gear will buy /sell at a price they now they could get or are prepared to pay.i would pay £400 for uk built 4years old than i would £500 new made in prc for example.same with ampeg, peavey etc.mainly applies to heads and combo's.
-
go secondhand and you will get more wattage for your money.might as well get a 300w combo to start with, more than loud enough.my choice as usual would be ashdown abm 2x10 combo or trace elliot.but if you want new go for a ashdown electric blue combo great value for £200.
-
so much choice!ive tryed my jazz with just the neck pup but its still not a p sound which i thought i might get when i bought it.forgot to mention that i also tryed a jazz in between the others today and could not believe the difference in sound.looking around the cheapest highway is £450 so i would try and sell the jazz if i went for that but only for the right dosh,or perhaps pick one up secondhand and then have two basses!oh this gas does you in!
-
the highway1 was the best i must admit but £300 better i dont think so,not going to rush into anything but the guy instore said that prices would soon go up so will wait and see.
-
went to local pmt store today to try the classic vibe 60's p-bass and was very impressed by it.lovely to play ,the neck is'nt as fat as a normal precision but is glossed for quick neck action.only thing i slightly took a dislike to was the orangey colour of the head.imo the 50's vibe p bass looked better but sounded slightly worse with a different pup to the 60's one.also tryed a highway1 which infact sounded the best,(£300 more tho!)tryed a MIM p bass as well which was ok but not as good as the squier vibe.so if i decide to go for a precision do i save myself £300 and trust the classic vibe or go for a fender which imho isnt that much better.or go secondhand or option 3 stick with my jazz.although hearing the p bass sound that might not be an option.
well in the market for a jazz bass ,going to the gallery next month . have narrowed it down to a lakland skyline darryl jones sig in black , or outside chance of a fender american standard but the fender seems from what i have read suffers from quality control. only fender i might concider is a jap one if i can obtain one .sadowsky are a bit out of my . league.might enquire about a j retro fitted or external sadowsky pre.
i have a usa fender jazz which i bought in january and there was no quality control issues whatsoever, but that was just the one i bought, whatever make you might get a duff one that slips through, have a good look at it and a good play first and you shouldnt have a problem.at the end of the day its your choice but have a good look first as there is more to choose from ,i didnt have a lot of choice but my jazz is ok.
