1.
I'm actually intrigued as to what other people define as wooly?
thought their would have been some answers by now!perhaps no one can put it into words!
2. 300w combo is what you need.you can always add an extension cab later.have a look on here or the bay for a ashdown mag combo or trace elliot.
3. trades welcome bump.
4. not in that much hurry at the moment but might have some gas soon!good luck and hope youre ok.
5. well played a whole gig with this bass and sailed through it with flying colours.fender were right after all !
6.
I still waiting for replies to three emails about a replacement fan
have you emailed them this week?if you have thats unusual that they have not replyed.ring them and ask for tech support.
7. i mailed them yesterday as well and had a reply at 9.15 this morning.russell the tech guy is very helpful.
8. got the same bass back today, fender cant find nothing wrong with it!will have to see how it goes or they can have it back again!
9. i have a uk made abm evo11 500w head and imo its superb.the sliders do take a bit of getting used to i must admit.i use a abm 2x10 cab and/or 4x10 abm cab with the head and they go together very well indeed.both cabs are made in the prc but thats not an issue.personally i would go for a 1x15 compact cab as the normal 1x15 does sound a bit wooly.you will not beat ashdowns after sale service either they are always very helpful.go for it!
10. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Ashdown sell up to a larger organisation at some point.
lets hope not!its nice to hear of a successful british company these days no matter how big or small they are!
11.
Cool, these look very nice, looks like an ABM Vinyl sleeve and other posh bits and cheaper than a Chinese Mag! Great to see Ashdown still making lots of stuff in the UK.
+1,just wish i could afford a classic cab!
12.
Buy Ashdown it is the only way... or worse... Behringer...
very much worse,
13.
Just put down the money and bought one, should be here friday. Can't wait! mines been sent back to fender as there was something wrong with the pick up!
14. go for 2x4x10's and the biggest head trace do!
15. a few 300w combos to choose from under £400 .certainly wont be overkill.a 300w combo will not put out its full power unless you plug in an extension cab with it.you will be lucky to get a new head and cab for your budget, something thats decent anyway.why not go for a second hand rig plenty for sale on here.300w head and a decent cab would be ideal.if you want to buy new go to your local store to see what they have within your budget and try them out.just seen on soundslive site, ashdown mag 300w head £233 and mag 1x15 cab £150,+ postage on top of that so not far away from your budget!
16. go for the eb12-180,be better than the 5-15 imo.
17. +1 on the trace.i used a 300w 1x15 combo for loads of small to medium sized gigs, nice sound and loads of power.still making decent money secondhand though.might have to get the 150w model on your budget, but knowing trace elliot a 150w would still be loud enough!or a used ashdown electric blue combo 180w 1x15.
18.
I saw this a while back and was very confused. I wouldn't of thought Ashdown would bother to build some UK MAGs anymore.
might be something to do with how the economy is at the moment.not a bad deal though as the cheapest price at my local store was £585 for the 2x10 classic cab.although soundslive did have that cab on offer at £377 for 2 or 3 weeks a while ago.
19. soundslive are advertising a mag 600w amp on its own or in a special deal with either a 1x15 or 2x10 classic ashdown cab.they state that the amp is uk built and its exclusive to soundslive.this is obviously a deal they have with ashdown at the moment, but wonder why the mag head is being built over here again and at a good price of £300.
20. ive tryed the squier 50's cv and was not overly impressed with the pup.everything else about it was very good imo.change the pup on it and it would be superb!
21. i have it switched to dc and have been making contact with lead, nothing.i know the meter works because i tested a battery with it.ive changed meter wires round to see if it makes a difference, nothing!what ive read elsewhere shouldnt you test inside amp?
