1. The guy selling this Les Paul DC Bass http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gibson-Les-Paul-Double-Cutaway-Bass-/291278337899?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item43d18ab76b (sorry can't get this to act as a hyperlink) reckons he has a 1976 IBE to sell.
2. I like that. Especially the Gretschish orange.
3. I have the three in my sig...the P is my go to, the Gretsch will get more outings now we have lost our drummer who thought his kit was a piece of artillery, the Dano has been great for chucking in the back of the car and twiddling with on our jolly holidays . A Tbird has been forecast, though there's part of me fancying an EB.
4. The first player I really admired. Very sad.
5. When you see what they're prepared to do on their guitars, including Firebirds, it is really quite baffling to the point of being ignorant. But then, perhaps us chrome lovers are too conservative
6. Lovely looking thing!
7. Blimey, that's nearly 2 back to back Springsteen shows. Or 8 back to back Ramones shows ! I admire your stamina, but my neck back and elbow (fretting hand side) would complain bitterly.
I hope there was some Status Quo esque swaying with your guitarist with the matching V. Awesome build. Any temptations to paint it?
Brought to mind some UFO-esque chugging there. Very nice job on that sir!
9. Blimey, that is really very nice. I really ought to look at Ricks more.
10. I tend to try and use fingers as I prefer the feel, but use a pick when the speed picks up and the song demands it.
11. Another '57 YOB here too. A thing of great beauty. Just lovely.
12. A few off the top... Sailin' Shoes - Little Feat Clear Spot - Cap'n Beefheart Darkness on the Edge of Town - Bruce Blood on the tracks - Bob Dylan On your feet or on your knees - Blue Oyster Cult Hatful of Hollow - The Smiths Full House - J Geils I guess because I played them to death when they came out and they still get the treatment now
13. Looks good on you Paul and some more pics would be good! The Holy Grail of clank? Rod
14. I like the orange too...and I've also become a sucker for blocks
15. +1 to that. That maple board looks great with the sunburst.
16. +1 This. Man, I can't keep up witchoo! Lovely bass - as are all those you've posted up here recently.
17. Blagged 8/10 with some lucky guessing
18. That there KD Lang too of course.
19. That is wonderful. You may have cured your gas, but I'm getting stirrings...!
20. Best wishes for a speedy recovery
21. Yep. Very nice vocals and playing... great Saturday morning groove. Thanks for posting.
22. Just to echo all the above... looks completely lovely! Intrigued as to how it sounds..Well done!
23. Thanks for your input guys! I've dropped a line to Rob at Number One - who helped kick the whole NR Thunderbird clone/tribute thing off - to see what he has left.
24. I got hold of a copy of Live and Dangerous by Thin Lizzy a few years back. Put it on the CD player, when it got to Southbound I was was hit with a wave of nostalgia and transported back to one of the students union bars at Cardiff. Whilst I know some of the other songs quite well, I don't really recall hearing Southbound before. How weird is that?
25. No, not that one...one of them thunderbirds...
