Changing channels seems fairly easy too -
yes exactly that. I have cobbled together an unbalnced lead set up and apart from some back ground, it sounds just as good as plugging direct into the desk with headphones. Its quite intuitive too. I have found in the menu how to switch to mono, so I could have just one stereo side going to both ears (sounds horrible as my backinh tracks aree stereo) I'll get a TRS to dual XLR from our man on here Chienmortbb

so I've got it home but I dont think I have the correct leads to connect it. It seems to be stereo input. Left xlr and right xlr and at the moment I come out of the headphone output on my desk and have the 'outfront sound' I'll need a special lead, unless it gives stereo on the left hand input, I need to get my desk out to try it I find this kind of gear a bit daunting at first. But it does seem nice and solid, which is a great start

Having used a very cheap Lekato 2.4 wireless, which dropped out a little the last gig I did, I have now plumped for the MIPRO MI58 set up I've read some really good reviews and I'm hoping it will serve me well. I'm not going to be using it at festivals, just my pub gigs

i used one in the early 90s for a while. It was great. would I use one again? Not sure, although I noticed Sting was using one in the vegas shows

I've owned this old P bass for 34 years this summer but have only gigged it once in probably 6 or 7 years. It's still my favourite bass but I (like Lozz) have gone JMJ Mustang due to neck/shoulder issues. It hangs on the wall in my studio

The pickup in my PB-50 is excellent. I get an awesome sound from it. The tuners feel a bit flimsy and stiff in places but they hold their tune perfectly I may but another one and refinish it to a 50s Fender sunburst with no red in it. But there's no rush

we use iZettle at work. I had a customer that owed nearly £10K who insisted he could pay if we took a card. I spent 35 quid IIRC on the iZettle thing and he paid straight away. It cost us some fees but otherwise I didn't have much choice we still use it now. It's very good

yes I read about your struggle to get a fit. I'm lucky enough that the comply foam tips work well for me. In my duo I just have the headphone mix, which gives me the outfront sound, this is great for my vocals and I can be more dynamic, knowing where my voice sits in the mix. My Police gig the other night, also used the headphone mix, again it sounded really nice but I was the only IEM in theband. Now they're going to try it, their QSC desk has 4 aux outs and they can do personal mix via smartphone. It'll be nice to use their desk next time, knowing that it can be done on the phone, with the compression safety thing dialled in There's no protection on my analogue A&H desks but I'm considering going A&H SQ20b in the near future

it's amazing isn't it. Once you go IEM there is no going back. It was a pleasure to fo my Police gig the other night, with a perfect mix going to my ears. It makes singing so much easier. I shall send all this info to the chaps so they can get themselves sorted Thanks mate

@dave_bass5 were you running a silent stage whilst using the B5. Im wondering if all the band coming through it as well as seperate monitor mixes will sound weird

ah ok cool. My Police tribute is about to go IEM (I already am) but the guys also play in a great covers band that doesn't have a setlist. They obviously need to communicate between numbers, the drummer doesnt sing, so doesnt have a mic

I'm doing it so the players can talk between songs and still hear each other. You are quite closed off with IEMs

forgive me for this request Somewhere in this thread there is someting about using an ambient mic so that band members could converse between songs It was some sort of Behringer, could someone let me know which one please thanks
