2.
Here's some pictures of the finished Bass. In moving I've lost a bag of bits containing drills, strings and things so the body rest is not finished. Luckily my Stagg one fits, that was a surprise!
Gee man , you worked your butt out on that one , did a nice job
 3.
Give him a chance, lad. He's from yorkshire! probably just having a bit of a sit down for a brew before getting on with the rest of the build
lol buddy
 4. Well , you got some work ahead of you then.lol
 5.
great thread and a great looking guitar. all the very best and looking forward to more pics
+1

 8.
Yeah, that's where my mind would be going - it's far, far too cheap. It's a complete bargain, but you have to ask why. Does it all work? Is it damaged, the neck bent? It is stolen? Is he on hard times and needing the cash quick?
+1
 9. I would jump on it @ that price , unless it s all screwed up
 10. Another one would be Shure Beta 56A also , but their are so many you can use
 11. It might also be depending on which features you would like most also on each head too , & you can go with that
 12. yep ashvans09, to answer your question , & even try out different tubes also , in order to check lf you would like them

 14. Nice project in there Wolverinebass
 15. Yep TomRichards , it s not the luthiers that make Wall Street go wild , but I must say i would like to have a Fodera , an Alembic , a Wal , & the list would go on & on right. It s not because I can t by a Rolls Royce or a Bentley that they have ethical issues of some sort , their are way wrost stuff to me than ethical issues on luthiers as one wrote before , if I don t have the money for it , I don t buy it , just some thoughts in here .
 16. Hey davebassics ; where are you based , might interest some in BC

 19.
2 * Kent Armstrong Humbuckers in there m8. No pre-amp on this build. IanM
Ok thanx scojack for the comeback .
 20.
My MTD 535 was the finest instrument I have ever owned. Never owned a Sadowsky, but I have played many and also think that they are the dog's too. Tonally very different, but they are both equalled by build quality to very, very high standard. You can order pretty much anything you want with MTD as far as timbers are concerned...Mike always has some really strange tone woods hiding away in the workshop, but Sadowsky stick to the usual suspects such as alder and ash which some traditionalists prefer (Fender fans). Sadowsky are also building a lot of chambered basses which sound incredible and also cuts the weight down. It comes down to the what the player wants...I wouldn't say one is better than the other.
As shizznit said , call or email Mike Tobias & tell him what you want , tone - wise & you ll get what you need , that guy is one kind of genius concerning woods & what you need-want , but the choice is yours at the end .
 21. Must be a groubd-shielding issues , there are good people in here that will be able to assist you on that buddy , I m not good enough with electronics , I usually go @ a guitar tech or luthier for thet works on my basses , it s safer for me.lol . Good luck with your repair & have a nice day out there RnRDave
 22. Thanx charic for the comeback , it helps a bit buddy also .
 23.
My strap is set so the bass is consistantly in the same position/place whether I am seated with it on my lap or standing.
+1 on that , same thing as Chuck Rainey from his fine books also .
