  1. Any reason you went for the 44-100 Newtone Shorties rather than the 46-105 gauge if you liked cut down standard scale 45-105?
  2. Very sad indeed RIP, our thoughts are with his family.

I bought Dave's Hotone Thunder off him, first class service,, communication and delivery. Thanks Dave.
  4. Have a look a the TC Electronic Spetradrive that would give a number of options for getting the sound you are looking for.
  5. Hi Shiggs, I am not that far from you, I live just outside of Lichfield. If you want to try you are welcome, Stoke or Lichfield no problem.
  6. Shiggs, where abouts are you in the Midlands as I have both long scale and short scale basses which you are welcome to try.
  7. Drop a note on their website and you should get an answer pretty quickly.
  8. You could always try their Platinum range with a hexagonal core. They are physically very smooth feeling with a decently high tension and produce very pleasant fundementals. There is a video demonstrating all the bass string variants on their website. I have just put a set of the new nickel 46 - 100 Shorties on a bass and they are sounding really good.
  9. In fact 1980 was only yesterday.....
  10. The Leathergraft I have has five slats in the ladder Schlippy. I also asked for a specific length between the end keyholes (104cm as I am only short😁) which cost an extra £5.
  11. I use a 4" wide Leathergraft which seems to have nulified the shoulder pain I was getting when using Levy and Comfort Stapp.
  12. I think that deserves a 'Quite Nice' on the rating scale ead. What scale length is it?
  13. Cute, and so is your son.
  14. I concur with others above regarding the TGI Extreme. I actually use the guitar version for my short scale bass.
  15. Is it a single or dual pickup bass you are using?
  16. There is a battery powered GR bass head (50w?) on the Bass Direct website.
  17. Have my bass so that it is at the same height sitting or standing which works out at 104cm on the 'custom' Leathergraft strap I use. As you can probably guess I am not very tall
  18. I do scout the pages of Basschat normally while I'm away. Have a great holiday Rayman
  19. If you let us know what bass you have I am sure one of the learned brethren on the site maý be able to advise what strings are fitted.
  20. I have a similar set up to Paul S but instead of a HB powerbank I use a Gear4music pedal board mounted 5.8ghz wireless transmiter/receiver with tuner. This has a built in rechargable battery which as an output for powering pedals. The battery will also charge the guitar transmiter. Easily lasts a gig+ even if the bug has to be charged at halt time.
  21. It looks like the Harley Benton stewblack mentions will charge and pass power at the same time.
  22. If you are looking at a small set up how about the Warwick gnome series, there is a 280w version and their cabs are less expensive so you could use 2.
