1. NOW SOLD Behringer 1202FX mixing desk. Virtually unused. I bought it "just in case" and simply haven't used it apart from testing it. Superb little mixer. 4 x mic inputs plus 4 x stereo line inputs. Plus FX incl reverb and delay. These Xenyx mixers are some of Behringers best products IMO. I have 2 others already ! Just perfect for a small band setup. Full details at ...... 2.
This makes a really good bass preamp, by the way. Just plug the bass in, connect to a power amp, and you're up and running.
Just to follow up on this, it certainly will work as Stevie suggests but would need further signal boosting to get enough signal to properly feed a power amp for a decent volume. Its output is roughly the same as what goes in.
 3. bo**ocks. I would have had this if I'd spotted it. Enjoy it T-bay !
 4. NOW SOLD £49 posted to you in mainland UK. 3 week old Raygun FX Bass Soda Drive pedal. Immaculate, no faults. Bought to have a good try of it. It's a great pedal but I am trying to keep pedalboard space down to a minimum and my Knightfall still does exactly what I want in the low/medium drive area which is where I live (although this does have a lot more gain that the knightfall if you want it). Nicely made and a really low noise floor. A good range of available drive. It'd be rude not to give it a try for only 49 squids, posted to you. Good review vid at ..... 11. NOW SOLD Having fallen in love with the necks of my now 2 x Tune Bass Maniac basses, I need to complete the one in/one out rule and this one has to go. It has been my main bass for about 3 years (although has been played very little in the last 18 months). I have issues with tendonitis type things in my fingers and the tiny/lithe necks of the Tune's really do help me. Anyway, I built this myself. Its a ..... - 2-piece lightweight "guitarbuild.co.uk" ash PJ body, with a beautiful satin danish oil and wax finish. There are a couple of extremely tiny dents on it which you have to look really hard to find. Its a lovely finish TBH. - Schaller 2000 bridge. These are the best bridges ever IMO. Adjustable in 3 dimensions for each string and , yes, that does mean you can choose your ideal string spacing. These bridges give an excellent break angle for each string too. - Jazz neck ... 38mm nut, rosewood fretboard, block inlays. Can't remember exactly where I got this, it cost somewhere around £120 from somewhere in Holland I seem to remember. It has a gloss vintage tint finish. I have "breathed on" the nut and the frets and it gives a lovely low action if that is your thing, plays beautifully. The tuners are generic but work exactly as they should. If you look at the pics you will see a few tuner holes on the back of the headstock which are visible. A set of full-sized WIlkinson-type tuners would cover these holes. If you look hard you will also see the tips of two holes on the back of the neck heel which are just poking their heads out of the neck pocket, left from when this neck was attached to a Westone body (I think). I mention all this for completeness. - pickups are a tonerider jazz bridge and a Wilkinson neck pickup. They work great as a PJ pairing IMO, as nice as virtually anything out there. - The bass comes with two x pickguards - 1/ the black PJ one and 2/ a perloid blue one cut for a Jazz neck pickup if you fancy trying a Jazz bass pickup configuration on it. The body is routed for either under the pickguard. For an extra tenner I'll throw in a neck J pickup too. - controls are std VVT. - nice'n'light. My bathroom scales say around 3.5kg (7.7lbs) which I would say is pretty close. Yours for £260 posted within mainland UK in a hard case. No trades and no offers at this price please. It is a fantastic and resonant bass. If this doesn't sell for a while I would consider splitting. Please feel free to register your interest in parts of it with me, but I will give it a chance to sell as a whole first. 12. Just bought a Tune Bass Maniac bass from Nic. Top bloke and very easy to deal with. Bass was as he described it. I collected it from him and he was welcoming and friendly. Thanks Nic !
 13. It certainly is a real looker !
 14.
OK so now I've had a quote from a friend who does some spraying for him to do it. I'm wondering if his quote is fair......so how much do you think is the right price to sand back the existing poly finish to give a key for new paint and apply new paint and clear coat?
A professional would charge somewhere between £200 - £300 at least for that I'd guess.
 15. My moneys on the truss rod rattling in it's cavity. These types of unknown rattles can be absolutely infuriating !!!!
 16.
I don't understand. You have two lovely and expensive cabs which you quite reasonably don't want to take to the rougher venues, but all the suggested replacements are of equally lovely and expensive cabs.
Lol, the irony. Good point, well made !
 17. bump for an awesome pedal. I will never sell mine.
 18.
I`d echo the "keep the amp, save the weight on the cab" advice. Many good lighter cabs around, Barefaced, Bergantino, TKS, Vanderkley, Schroeder. Or look at a couple of EBS 1x12s.
Agree here too, that is assuming you already love your amp.
 19. Don't limit yourself to non-hum-cancelling bridge J pickups. the minimal hum you will get soloing it will be exactly the same as in a standard Jazz bass setup. Leo himself found that to be acceptable. I have found the Tonerider bridge J to be fairly beefy and an excellent partner to most vintage output-type P pickups in a PJ.
 20.
The fella got back to me earlier to confirm it was carbon in the neck not steel. Unless there's a sudden upsurge in folks smashing up HB's and J&D's we'll never know just how common the carbon bars are.
Veeery interesting
 21. Just as a general response about using PA cabs as bass cabs, I have done it a few times and it has worked well, with no loss of perceived bass at all. The main thing is that most full range PA cabs are not built to take high volumes of bass guitar-type frequencies, which are typically of quite a high dynamic range when not hugely compressed. Therefore your volume will be slightly limited compared to similar priced bass guitar cabs IME. I have gigged a couple of times recently with a couple of STudiospares passive "12" plus tweeter" cabs, driven by a 1000W power amp. Being careful with the volume it has actually made a very decent sound. Having said that I do feel that they will not cope in a lot of venues (and I typically provide all bass guitar sound from my rig) so I am in the process of getting a good proper bass cab again.
 22.
Fella in the States posted a photo of the Benton JB-75 he'd smashed up,has some mental issues and wasn't taking his meds. Photo shows what appear to be carbon rods either side of the TR. If they are carbon rods then my guess is they're insurance against wobbly necks. The factory will be producing 100's if not 1000's of necks so rods make sense if a batch of improperly seasoned timber gets used. What do you folks think ? One's obviously the skunk stripe but what could the other be if not a carbon rod. I'd imagine if rods are in Bentons then they'll be in J&D as well, same serial number system have been spotted on both HB and J&D.
Interesting. I'm amazed they don't advertise the fact if it is true, as it would be a great sales point. There obviously is some sort of rod there. Might not be carbon though. Steel is the other obvious possibility. Is there a thread on TB about it then ?
