1. Nice one Greek man ! The old TE amps truly are rather special.
2. People will want to know where you are based.
3. SOld a pedal to Graeme. Easy transaction. Great communications throughout. Thanks mate !!
4. Ooooooooh, my 2nd favourite fuzz !!!!! As it says in the name .... "AWESOME"
5.
These are excellent pick ups.
THanks Dandelion, and amazingly still available at this bargain basement price !
6.
......... along with work-kitchen teaspoons.
# Oh don't get me going on that one !!!!
7. Really, really happy with my new Seymour Duncan Studio Bass Comp. Its smallish, quiet, sounds great and has all the functionality I need.
8. Haven't had a good old moan for a few hours now (on my own) so thought it was a good time to observe on here how utterly annoying it is that so many used basses are for sale without truss rod covers (and yes I am talking about basses that were made to have them). About 1 in 5, to 1 in 10, used basses (especially in my budget range) seem to not have them ! Seriously, what do people do with them. I take mine off once in a blue moon to have a tweak (usually when I first receive a bass), put it back on and thats its. What the *%&* is going on !
9.
That's odd as it's not my experience at all. I have a 4-stroke 500 and it's massively loud (before any compression added). Full on gig volume (outdoor stage punk festival ) and I'm at less than 9 o'clock on the volume dial. The compressor bumps it up - adds girth and bit of bite but it's not really distortion unless you crank it right up (about halfway is nice imo). But its not needed for volume and there's loads of clean headroom.
It was the 300 I had for a while. Its possible I had a bad unit. I will admit that the compressor/gain knob on the amp I had did behave rather differently to the online videos I have seen of the amp (although that is not unusual IME with most amps sounding different once you get them in your own hands compared to a review video). It was not drive as such that the comp added, but tonal changes and big changes in the attack of the notes, which I did not like. And without the comp there simply was not not enough volume. Its a pity they are so rare and that I could not get a change to play a different one. With the comp used it certainly gave a loud 300W- easily as loud as any 500W D-class amp I have tried (which is quite a lot)
10. now SOLD Ashdown Rootmaster 800 EVO amp head. Fantastic amp. Hardly been used really but unfortunately has as a couple of scratches on the top and underneath (mostly underneath) but in excellent condition generally. Working 100% perfectly. No faults. THis is essentially a new ex-demo amp from Andertons, which has suffered a couple of scratches on the shop floor. THese are extremely powerful, versatile and LOUD amps ! Powerful EQ options, the compressor is pretty good too. Typical Ashdown drive tones also if thats your thing and a useable sub-octaver too. I was very happy with this, but have moved back to my beloved Trace Elliot SMX series amps. Only for sale, as I can't keep everything. I've also tried using it as just a power amp using the Fx loop return jack (master volume still works) with my TE's pre-amp, and this works superbly - Loud, crisp and punchy - turns my trace into an 800W monster, and its VERY tempting keeping it just for that but in honesty The TE's own 250W is enough for my uses. A huge amount of a very recent amp for not a lot of money. £309 posted to you in mainland UK. No offers and no trades please. 11. now completely and utterly SOLD COG effects T-65 octaver pedal. Fantastic octave up and down and parallel loop pedal. Full details and an excellent demo video at http://www.cogeffect...t-65-octave.php THis pedal is in superb condition and comes with the required Y-cable to connect anything to the parallel loop. This is the slightly older version, using the Y cable for the loop and without the "mode" footswitch to switch on the loop separately. THis octaver is by some margin the best octaver I have ever used, its just that I don't really have space or need for an octaver on my board. The pedal has no faults at all, the tracking is superb with my basses, with no perceivable latency and it really gives some fruity, analogue and musical tones. Thoroughly recommended !! £89 posted to you in the UK. No trades and no offers please. 12. Bought a Trace Elliot amp from Chris, which he sent to me by courier. Amp was exactly as described and packed well. CHris' communication was superb throughout, and he has been a pleasure to deal with. Thanks CHris !!!
13. I've not played the OB1 but did have a 4-stroke for an extended test. I was disappointed with the 4-stroke because, although the EQ is fantastic, if you want to get a decent volume from the amp you can only get it by using the big knob controlling gain/compression to get enough preamp gain, which adds a LOT of colour (and obviously comrpession) to your tone. It will not do simply clean at anywhere near its full volume. For me that was a deal-breaker.
14. Fantastic price for the Compressore ! If I had not literally just bought another compressor, I would have this !
15. Compressor before. CHorus (and all other time based effects - ie. all modulations, reverbs and delays) afterwards, is the traditionally accepted "best arrangement" (and my preferred choice). However, as always, YMMV and try it any way you look and use what sounds best to you.
16.
TE Twin Valve?
Yes, thats my guess too. Spuriously described as "400W" on ebay. ARe we right ???????????
17. There are few 4x12's made for bass. It is a very popular format for guitar cabs but not for bass. Virtually all 4x12's you see around will be guitar cabs and you will easily kill them with loud bass guitar frequencies. 4x10 is the more popular bass cab format. And yes, you can pick up older, heavier 4x10's pretty cheap, certainly within your 200 Euro budget. Your Minimark plus an 8 ohm 4x10 extension cab should really be pretty loud, and that is what I would suggest aiming for. I really doubt you will be able to buy an appropriate amp & cab for 200 Euros

19. The little mark III amp is an obvious suggestion for the amp, which is bound to have a similar sound signature to your current amp.
20. I did all the firmware updates - did NOT fix the problem. I am fairly computer-literate so am confident I did it right (about 3 times !) I Just don't trust the thing not to suddenly lose its toneprint mid -gig, even if I did get an apparently "working" one.
21. Just done a little googling, and I wasn't completely correct. Iit would seem the LMII and original lmIII had analogue class A/B power amps, then Markbass changed the LMIII (roughly about 2012 ) to a class D power module. THat seems to be the concensus of opinion. I could still be wrong though !
