1. I brought a GenzBenz contour 500 from Julian. Easy to deal with! Would happily buy again!
2.
Ok... It's near impossible to get any Dekos these days. They seem to update the website after Coldflows has bought them all...
I wish haha! Frankly its mad they do it at all!
3.
It's near impossible to get any Dekos these days. They seem to update the website with them already sold out.
I haven't had a problem buying them, in fact I had two PJ shortys last week. Interestingly one wasn't stamped so I'm not 100% sure it was even a deco. It did say Deco on the box though.
4. Grabbed a pb shorty last night and was confirmed this morning. Looking forwards to taking it apart and messing about with it!
5. "For this project we took the Kramer of 80 years." Wow! a 1930s Kramer!
6. Errrm. Not the type of thing I'd go for. And a lot of money for what looks to me like acrylic paint...
7. An absolute pleasure to deal with and a genius with a soldering iron. Definitely coming back! Thanks! Ben
8. I'm in. Need another type of feedback forum to monitor everything...
9. I have a Retrovibe Renegade, insane value for money. Plus David who owns them is a super easy guy to deal with.
10. At the end of the day its to do with quantity. Probably the larges music retailer in the uk so they are going to fubar a fair few instruments on the way round. But it is insane they price them with so little discount and so much damage! It just brings you back to Thomann's Harley benton Decos which seem to be in mint condition in comparison...
11. That's only 70 worth of damage? I can't see it being fixable so essentially its just for breaking. I cannot understand the pricing!
12. Ouch. Id rather have three new ones. Or ten Decos!
13. If you don't mind the extra cash the Harley Benton PJ-4 HTR Deluxe Series is a brilliant starter bass. Loads of tone and under £100 brand new posted. I have had two (a four and a five)!
14.
I asked Sire about a P bass a while back. They said they'd be doing one, but that's all they'd say. No time line, specs, etc.
Looks like we might be waiting a while then :-/
15. Any news on the P bass then? I'm waiting with baited breath!
16. Can't imagine that's easy to play...
17.
My friend Mark is selling a very similar Joodee in Exeter if you're interested https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10208447292643665&set=pcb.1023191734406736&type=3&theater (link might not work)
I know mark. In fact I sold him some pedals earlier this week! I have a Stingray SUB USA I need to rehome but if I manage to sell it before its gone I'm planning on buying marks Joodee. Easy bloke to deal with too!
18. I have a very well worn USA SUB 4 string. It sounds so good, and the nice thing is its very easy to get a recognisable sound out of it. My only gripe is I don't get on with active eqs and It just doesn't get the use it deserves. The other problem is have you seen the original scratchplates for the SUB? Yuck!
19. I have a fleabass. Great value bass guitars... ...But not at that price.
20. Looks great, Have you figured out how the truss rod works? Is it a square key or is it just a normal allen key? I am jealous.
21. Seems good to me. One single rough fret I'm planning on dealing with but plays pretty much as I like. I can't believe they say these aren't for playing.
22. If its left handed the controls are on the wrong side a la jimi Hendrix. Either that or the photo is back to front. Or my brain has turned off. Always a possibility!
23. That sounds great to play, but I imagine finding strings for a 28" scale would be a nightmare. I guess it would be suitable as a travel bass, I'm wondering it might have a somewhat 'floppy e' like some short scales tend to go floppy when you d tune them. It also sounds a bit like a tenor guitar.. I was tempted by this: http://www.thomann.de/gb/eastwood_guitars_warren_ellis_tenor_1p_cherry.htm?ref=search_rslt_Tenor+guitar_360438_13 For having a noodle on. I'm not sure what a tenor guitar really means. I just know it has the right number of strings! :-D
24. It's a lovely colour. Interesting that it's darker than the five string I had from the same series. jpg images And here is the dodgy bridge: upload image It plays very well, I guess it doesn't matter too much as the scale length should be slightly longer on the e string anyway...
