1. Yeah, ok, it was a dumb idea. I just had this image of walking out to where the audience would be, playing some stuff and thinking 'hmmm, not cutting through enough in this room', pulling a remote out of your pocket and fiddling with the mid/treble until it sounded right. it would save the play/walk/adjust/walk/play/walk/adjust cycle that I seem to get into. As for stopping people playing with it when you're playing, I'm sure we could put a bypass/off switch on the amp itself. Hmmm.... maybe i'll have to come up with a better idea to make my millions.
2.
Welcome back Shockwave, noone wanted you to leave and everyone appreciated your hard work in this matter I don't care if its late, his comments were an affront to a lot of decent, helpful people on this site. He should bl**dy well apologise and retract.
Absolutely +1 on both points, but particularly the former. Nice one.
3. Well this is turning out well isn't it kids. I donated to try and get the bass moving. Quite frankly I couldn't have given a damn if my money had gone to UPS/DHL or propped up Robert Mugabe.... it was a symbolic gesture. And now, quite frankly, I find IncX's responses posted above to be gobsmackingly arrogant and conceited. Not good form.
4.
Active basses, FX pedals and foot-switches? Alex
But when you are really 'out front' listening to how your sound will, ahem, sound, you'd still have to wander back to get to pedals etc, and that wouldn't change the fundamentals of your tone ie. your actual amp controls.
5. I've had this niggling idea at the back of my mind for ages, and I wondered why no one else has thought its a good idea. Maybe you can help me understand how stupid I'm being.... You know the story... setting up for a gig, and you've got your entra long lead/wireless so that you can wander around whilst you soundcheck and see what it 'sounds like out front'. But... everytime you want to make a change to your settings you have to wander back to your amp and play with the controls. Why can't we have remote control amps, which would work like a home hi-fi/tv, to adjust the tone/graphic ? Of course we would also be given the controls to the guitarists amps during the gig so that we can turn them down as needed? So... a poll.... how dumb is this idea?
6. Yorkshire is nicer than London. If you can find work there then I'd stay.
7. Which issue are we up to? Last one I got was Trujillo and the massive collection of 'metal' basses. Was that the most recent? It can't be two months since that arrived can it?
8. www.sound-services.co.uk have always looked after us when we've been in town. Good kit and good engineering. Good luck
9. The whole thing is a bit wiffy to me "Hello , I appreciate your interest regarding my item . Want you to know that the item is in perfect condition of working and shape . The price is typed in the ad . Also that ad have some photos with the item , I hope that you saw them all . I bought it 4 years ago it work great . Is the uk version you don`t need any convertor . If you are ready to buy the mesa boogie, we will use a shipping company : Door to Door Express Cargo Services ( www.doortodoorexpress.co.cc ) . I will explain you how it works : -you must give me your shipping information : full name , and your complete address. -after that I will go to the shipping company , to send the package to your address. -the shipping company will contact you with details about our transaction , payment method , and information about the package . -you have 3 days to send the money to the shipping company , and the money will stay at the shipping company until you receive the package , you will receive it in 4-5 days . When you will receive it , you will have the chance to inspect the package , and to test it , and if you won`t be satisfied with it , you can return it to the shipping company , and you will have your money back . Also want you to know that I will support the shipping taxes . If is all clear and ok for you , I will wait for your shipping details , so I can go to the shipping company and ship the package . Thanks" The company he mentions has spelling mistakes on its website, lists its address as Manchester but has a phone number for Seattle. Hmmmm Might be a bargain, or it might be that the Mesa doesn't exist and he's lifted the photos from ebay to create the 'item'.....
10.
i think that should be the case for Rob's Stingray 5 too! *lol* -*- that vampyre LTD is really sort of a legend in the warwick forums because everybody knows it ... they know it as "marcbass's bass and he is/was a warwick endorser" ... i thought of those when i got the bass, that "wow, ill be getting something that came from a warwick endorser." never knew it could mean more than that...
I think that jakebass is actually more (in)famous than marcbass now....
11.
I'm in brum.......................
I got carried away on my own bluster and have PM'd him through Gumtree with a mishmash of questions. I'll post what i find out.
12.
Does anybody live near this dildo?
I hope you mean the seller rather than me Steve!?!?
13. Well I've chipped in, purely on the grounds that its kept me 'entertained' for the last few days. Cheaper than Setanta. When Jake actually pays the shipping I reckon this should go to charidee a'la bass bash funds. Cheers Shockwave - well organised.
14.
I think there should be a photo of the bass at every stage in its travel, like when that garden gnome was kidnapped and taken on a world cruise.
+1 to that
15. Lets take him on Basschat styley - challenge him to a demo or something, then expose him Jakebass style. I reckon we can rid the world of dishonest bass traders by mid-2009
16.
i cannot wait to get my bass. with everything that has happened... it really feels like im getting a custom bass
I really hope you like it after all this!! I think you should be forced to hold on to this bass forever+1 day.... no trading it in for a Precision or SX next year
17. To me they always sounded like amps where the designers had gone "hmmmm, we make guitar amps that people love, lets just put a bigger speaker in it and remove the second channel... then its a bass amp".
18. Good luck Stu - hope it goes well !!
19. Oh yes, and I have a C180 Crossover (1u) for this too.
20. Sold pending postage/payment - thanks Hi, I bought this Rockbag new a couple of months ago but its about 0.5cm too shallow for what i need to put in it. Darn. So, I'm looking to move it on again. Absolutely unused and untouched. Slid an amp in and then back out again and thats it. Still has tags etc. attached. I'd vastly prefer collection from south london but could post at cost price if needs be. Looking for £20 please. Cheers
21. Hi, I've inherited a couple of Studiomaster 1200D poweramps from the breakup of our band PA system. I thought I'd ask on here if anyone would be interested before I head to the 'bay. They are pretty chunky 2u amps, and not light, BUT they are barely used.... maybe 15hrs use for one and 20hrs for the other. XLR or Jack inputs and Speakon outputs. 1200w bridged at 8ohm or 2 x 600w at 4ohm. I'd be looking for something in the region of £100 each, or I'll do a very good deal if you want to take both (£180?). Thats 2.5kw of power for less than £200! Collection only please from south london, but can get them to northwest london or even south wales if you don't need them tomorrow. Thanks for looking

25.
IMO every example of the classic MM tone sounds the same as a growly Jazz, which dosen't really make it unique.
Get Out. Now.
