This is where it gets a bit weird. I know what you mean when you say class d lacks heft etc. When i tried the amp in the shop with a mark bass cab it didnt have it, then when coupled with a barefaced super compact it has it in abundance. Ie its not always the amp that lacks the heft. Youll love the amp though! Be sure to download the software too.

I have one and its absolutely fantastic. Easy to use and the sounds are brilliant. Lightweight, but slightly larger than youd imagine (more like a hi fi separate) but an easy one hand lift. Hands down the best amp ive ever head and ive no need to get gas for anything else as i can try a different amp every time the gas sets in. Ive paired it with a barefaced super compact g3 and the volume keeps up with a loud band easily at less then 50%. Takes a lot of playing with the fully understand how to get the best out of it, but for the money its superb. And the fx are great too!

A Shine telecaster bass copy. HORRENDOUS neck dive to the point of i didnt even keep it as a spare for my spare. Also very shiny and slippery so made the dive even worse.

Id turn the pre shape off and remember to turn the eq button on (eq dials wont work otherwise). Youll know when they are working - massive control. Set bass to 10 oclock. Mids to 1 oclock and High to 11 oclock. Then put the 4 sliders right up (you should get a great growly mid from those). Then adjust to taste.

I watched a band called 'The Hamsters' years ago in Bolton. During their Hendrix set they played All Along the Watchtower, and to this day i can still remember the power of how they played it. Absolutely awesome - real next level stuff.

Hi all, I use a zoom b3 and love it. Just wondered if they did these or anything in a similar price range as a rackmount, rather than a stomp pedal?

Try finding out his favourite song, and getting him to play/clap along with that. Thatd be the best starting point as he should know that piece of music better than any other.

£130 for an ABM evo combo. Thats a great price. The market is crazy right now!

What would you do- a hypothetical quandary?

The way i would do it is: 1. Make it clear the item is not sold until youve received payment in full upfront (paypal etc). 2. Once payment received the seller can pfaff around as much as they want. Youd be amazed once payment has changed hands how all the delaying etc from the buyer stops! -
I had a ABM 1x15 combo and 2x10 ABM ext cab and it sounded awesome. You can put the 2x10 on top of the combo if you like. Ashdown confirmed the 2x10 is the perfect addition to it.
Cheers for all the comments and opinions. As luck would have it an ABM version has popped up as well. One thing that puts me off a 1x15 is the fact that if I put an extension cab into the mix (say a 2 x 10) it just looks (and possibly sounds?) odd. I've never had the luxury of a two-cab setup, but I always think it should be small speakers above big speaker. Unless anyone else has different experience?
If youre thinking of an Ashdown MAG id for the ashdown ABM combos instead. Different league completely and ironically about the same price second hand.

I think a lot of the aura and appeal of classic gear is it was directly telated to iconic bands, iconic music and an iconic time. All the classics from that era were played on that equipment and all our heroes used it. Todays music has very little in icons and iconic gear. Im not sure what todays youth will look back on and yearn for music wise? A laptop? A piece of software? A generic midi synth?
-
Pretty much as the title - does anyone know what the mono synth on the zoom b3 is modelled on? If its just a generic synth - are there any individual pedals like this?

Just get a male jack to female speakon adaptor and leave it permanently plugged in to the elf? Job done.
Trace may have limited the tone so that they can sell us the Transit effects unit too. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/TransitB Looking at this makes me think that I may have only bought half of what I needed.
This is the first thing i said when i first saw the launch of the elf. It was looking like a rig in 3-4 different parts.

Personally I always start with the following on a 3 band eq then adjust. Bass around 10 o'clock. Mids around 7 o'clock. Highs around 10 oclock. Then turn your volume up. Then adjust to taste. You'd be surprised how often you don't need your bass even at 12 o'clock when the volume is up. If you're happy it's bassy enough and the highs are coming through enough (if not alter as desired), then if required move the mids to get a sound you're happy with.

It seemed we waited ages for theae to arrive, with huge anticipation and expectation. Now they've arrived, I haven't heard a single thing or review about them. Any news or reviews anywhere yet?

Thanks. That's what I thought it might be. I was considering a ms60b just as an on off pedal for my synth effect rather than continually switching my b3 and using the chorus and drive from my amp.
-
Pretty much as the title suggests: What are the min differences between a zoom b3 and zoom ms60b?

You can also mix the amp tones with external pedals in an interesting way. There is a send and return for each channel so rather than having your pedals in line from your bass and effecting both channels, you can have your external fx pedals linked to one channel keeping the other clean of any fx then use your clean channel, your fx channel or a mixture of both.

As far as I know the are no speaker emulators on this amp. If it helps the VT sim is very warm, thick but punchy. Its a great sound. The fx are great too. The chorus is one of the best I've heard and the envelope filter can add full on funk, or used sparingly a bit of grit and punch too.

This has become relevant to me this year. Previously I set my basses (p bass or j bass) eq to full on volume and tone. That also shows up all your mistakes, weaknesses, etc so I found it really improved my playing, and did the sound eq from the amp. Now, however I have a yamaha bb424x PJ and it has a 3 way switch for pick up selection. It's brilliant for setting the band mix bass sound in a flash. Guaranteed 1 of those 3 settings suits the room brilliantly. If it needs anymore tone eq adjustment I can either roll on the tone fully for more cutting sound or roll of for a fatter more vintage fit. The 3 way switch is a brilliant addition. It'd be too complicated to remember and set on different knobs and dials.

Hotmail is notorious for sending emails directly to people's spam or trash folders even when it does send. We run a business and with every enquiry we get from a hotmail address we cringe as its literally 50/50 whether or not our reply reaches the client. It's been like that for years. I have no idea at all why people still use hotmail. If it's your main email address I can guarantee you will have had emails sent to you not received, and emails you've sent not received. Hope this helps, as not a lot of people realise how unreliable hotmail is.

If you play music (ie pre recorded music / dj) through them, you'll see just what a difference there is between brands and models. The higher end have a much deeper and smoother sound all round, the lower end models have little depth and warmth in comparison. It's not just a case of any 500w amp will drive your pre amp sound and sound the same. The power amps all have their own colour and attributes as well.
