1. Yup, it's freaking huge, what were they thinking? What with the recent trend for tiny pedals and pedalboards you'd think they'd make it smaller than a bus.
2. If you don't go for the Sandberg then might I suggest this, the best passive 5 string PJ out there that doesn't cost an arm and a leg: http://www.rattleanddrum.com/product/3110/...-pearl-5-string I want a 5 string P myself but may get one of these instead since they're on sale for £269...
3. F**k me! Offer postage on this thing and I'll bite your arm off. Bridge and headstock logo look like MIA to me folks!
4. Indeed. You snooze, you lose!
5. XXL now sold.
6.
Anyone tried the G-Lab Wowee Bass Wah RWW-1 from Poland? G-Labs also has a true bypass pad that can be used with other wahs.
Although I prefer the sound of the Wilson:
7. Unless you're really attached to the Ibby, I would just sell it and buy a fretless!
8. Creation Audio Holy Fire Homepage: http://www.creationaudiolabs.com/holyfire Reviews: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews.../Holy+Fire/10/1 Great natural sounding tubey overdrive, but more importantly it has glowing orange LEDs inside so it looks like it's on fire(!). This needs it's own dedicated 48v power supply, which comes included. Now sold on eBay! Artec APW-7 Dual Mode Whish Wah Homepage: http://www.artecsound.com/effect/apw-7.htm Reviews: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...rtec/APW-7/10/1 A wah in a sturdy but light metal chassis, with a unique magnetic pot that doesn't wear out, guitar/bass modes, range knob, whish/resonance knob, plus it's true bypass. It's got some great reviews on Harmony Central, and holds the low end nicely. I only got this brand new a couple of weeks ago and have only used it in my bedroom with socks on, so it's absolutely mint! SOLD.

Cliff Burton

I'd go for the Morley Power Wah. Cliff used an old chrome Morley Tel-Ray Power Wah Boost, they kinda rare but pop up on eBay every now and then. After those old chrome ones they sounded crap, but the models since 2006 have a new inductor that sounds a lot closer to the original. I've been thinking of getting one but don't know if I want one of those or a Wilson Vintage Spec 12-Position Bass Q-Wah or a Teese RMC3!
10. Al Cisneros is the bassist for Sleep/Om/Shrinebuilder... stoner/doom metal bands.
11. Looks like Al Cisneros' bass!
12. I saw a band called Bitches at one of Steve's (Dangerboy) nights... bass and drums, with a MicroPOG and Russian Muff to fill out the space, sounded bitchin'!
13. This guide is for a Jazz, should be useful: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showpost.php...p;postcount=534
14. Same here - the overdrive isn't very useable, the synth is fun but doesn't track fast enough, the octave is okay, the chorus , filter and compressor are great!
15. Rock sound = Tech 21 VT Bass!
16. Check out Wizard pickups, they are highly regarded on here and can custom wind a pickup to your needs if necessary.
17. I have a '79 T-40 from the year I was born too!

Distortion?

Hmm, I would do the opposite and distort the mids/highs instead, keeping my lows nice and punchy. Nobody's mentioned it yet so I'll suggest a Sansamp BDDI / VT Bass or even a Behringer BDI21 (which is actually a pretty decent clone of the BDDI).
19. Should be 34" long scale (if they have the purple silks). These are awesome strings, i have em on my P!
20. That's gorgeous!
21. Cheapest couriers I know of are parcel2go.com and interparcel.com.
22. Check out this Verbzilla video - the Octo mode is glorious! http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...ideoID=10323439
23. I use flats too, Pyramid Golds. I started out on a Yamaha fretless with Status half-rounds (which feel just like flats but have a bit more zing) and when I got my next bass, a P with rounds, my missed the thump until I got the Pyramids on there.
24. Bargain - this pickup sounds great. I upgraded my Squier VM to a Fender USA but miss the bark this pickup had for pickstyle rock. If you have a cheapo Squier then put this in it!
